Abstract

Currently motored vehicle has become a necessity for most urban people because the demands of high mobility are performing in their daily activities. Geographical conditions, cultural distinctiveness, economic and lifestyle differences also influence the behavior of its people. Indonesia is a country with a high rate of car sales for multipurpose vehicle (MPV). With this phenomenon, criteria for the Indonesian people about MPV car, with both design aspects and also engineering aspects are no longer controlled by the principal industry in Japan, but should further reflect the desires of consumers in Indonesia. This becomes the basis of the considerations in choosing which vehicle they want to buy. The goal of this research is to identify the factors that influence the occurrence of the difference between consumer choices with a design that has been offered by the manufactures. This study was conducted to prove the hypothesis that car design using ideal values from Japanese country as the main producer of cars in some cases do not have high hopes of being accepted by the Indonesian market, considering several values and cultural differences between ideal values of Japanese car manufactures and conditions of Indonesian people, which resulted in differences of perceptions, between the ideal concept of car design of urban people in Indonesia and the concept that manufactures has offered.

Abstract

This study consisted of a perception evaluation and identification of scooter shapes that are attractive to female riders. A survey using a Likert scale was conducted on 150 female scooter riders, providing an evaluation of six different scooter shapes representing scooter designs in Indonesia. The result of the descriptive analysis showed that scooter designs in Indonesia are perceived as high-quality, comfortable to ride, able to be used by family members, fun to ride, relaxing, and giving self-confidence when they are ridden, all of which are physio-, socio- and psycho-pleasure factors, thus only achieving the visceral and behavioral phases. These perceptions are in accordance with the female gender (communal, high emotion and empathy). The scooter models considered to be attractive to female riders had perceptions related to the ideo-pleasure factor determined by shape details in the scooter design. The results of factor analysis showed a different composition of perception factors among scooter models. The conclusion of this study is that in addition to size, type and shape characteristics, designs, both the overall design and design details as well as gender characteristics influence the difference in visual perception by female riders toward scooter designs.

Abstract

This study is an evaluation of perception and identification of attractive scooter design by female motorcycle riders. Survey with questionaire using Likert scale was conducted on 150 female scooter riders who provided assesment of six scooter design representing design of scooter in Indonesia. Descriptive analysis results show that scooter designs in Indonesia have perception: quality, comfortable to use, can be used by all family members, fun to use, relax and easy, and give confidence, which included in physio, socio, and psycho-pleasure also only reached the visceral and behavioral stage.Female riders’ perception is inline with the female gender characteristics, communal and have high empathy or emotional skill. Attractive scooter design for female riders has ideo-pleasure related perception and is determined from the details of the product design. From the factor analysis, it is described the pleasurability factors has different perception for each design. Conclusion of this study is beside size, type, and design characters, total shape as well as the details of the shape from the scooter design are the things that will affect the perception of the female rider and may provide a different perception of pleasurability evaluation from the female riders.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan hasil pemanfaatan material ramah lingkungan untuk pengembangan desain kema­san buah, khususnya kemasan dari tahap pasca-panen hingga pasar pengecer. Studi kasusnya adalah kemasan buah mangga gedong gincu di beberapa wilayah di Jawa Barat. Sedangkan material ramah lingkungan yang dimanfaat­kan adalah tatal kayu yang mudah didapat sebagai limbah proses pengerjaan produk perkayuan. Hasil dari eksperi­mentasi penelitian ini adalah: (1) Tatal kayu memiliki fungsi higroskopis, yakni kemampuan untuk menyerap mole­kul air dan mampu menjadi material kemasan yang menahan buah agar tidak cepat busuk; (2) Desain kemasan buah yang dihasilkan dari bahan tatal kayu dapat dikembangkan sebagai wadah buah higroskopis dan kemasan buah secara moduler sehingga mudah untuk dibuat, dibawa, ditumpuk, dan digunakan oleh konsumen dengan tampilan yang dibuat menarik.This research aims to explain the potential and application of biodegradable material in fruit packaging design, specifically those prepared for post-harvest stage to the retail market. As a case study is packaging of mango ‘gedong gincu’ which is an excellent product of fruit farming in some regencies in West Java. Biodegradable material in this research is the use of wood shavings as a waste material obtained from woodworking process. The results of experimentation from this research are: (1) Wood shavings have hygroscopic function, that is having ability to absorb water molecules so the packaged fruit is not easy to rot; (2) The design of fruit packaging made from wood shavings can be developed as a hygroscopic fruit container and a modular packaging that is easy to make, deliver, stack, and used by the consumer with a good appearance.

Abstract

AbstractThe Majalaya textile industry, at Bandung Regency, is a textile centre prepared by the government as a national textile centre to meet clothing needs. This industry was able to develop and experience its heyday in the 1960s. At that time, this region was able to produce 40% of the total fabric production in Indonesia. Sarong, as its main product, was very popular throughout Indonesia and several other countries in Asia. But thecrisis that occurred in 1998 had a major impact on the textile industry in Majalaya. Many textile entrepreneurs are forced to close their production sites because of the declining purchasing power of the people and also the increasing cost of raw material for production. Only a handful of Majalaya sarong entrepreneurs have survived until now. In the midst of their efforts to survive, the problem that occurs at this time is the onslaught of imported textiles that flooded the market which impacted the sale ofMajalaya sarongs falling dramatically.These problems must be overcome with the aim of returning the Majalaya textile industry as the people’s economic power. Design in relation to this is aimed at producing products that are interested in consumers. Design is an important aspect of product development, also as one of the main criteria in the product selection process by buyers. To produce an interesting product it is necessaryto analyze consumer perceptions. The purpose is to know what aspects that affect consumer interest in buying products. These can be applied as a strategy for developing a product of Majalaya sarong. The survey method using a questionnaire to Majalaya sarong consumers can be done to determine consumer perceptions of Majalaya sarong products. By analyzing consumer perceptions, producers can develop a Majalaya sarongproduct design strategy that suits consumer interest. Abstrak Industri tekstil Majalaya, di Kabupaten Bandung, merupakan sentra tekstil yang disiapkan pemerintah sebagai pusat tekstil nasional guna memenuhi kebutuhan sandang. Industri ini mampu berkembang dan mengalami puncak kejayaannya pada tahun 1960-an. Saat itu, wilayah ini mampu memproduksi 40% dari total produksi kain di Indonesia. Sarung, sebagai produk utamanya, sangat popular di seluruh Indonesia serta beberapa Negara di Asia. Namun krisis yang terjadi pada tahun 1998 berdampak besar bagi industri tekstil di Majalaya. Banyak pengusaha tekstil yang terpaksa menutup tempat produksinya karena daya beli masyarakat yang menurun dan juga kenaikan biaya bahan baku produksi. Hanya segelintir pengusaha sarung Majalaya yang masih bertahan menjalankan usahanya hingga sekarang. Di tengah usahanya untuk bertahan, permasalahan yang juga dialami pengusaha tekstil Majalaya saat ini adalah gempuran tekstil impor yang membanjiri pasar yang mengakibatkan penjualan sarung Majalaya turun drastis.Permasalahan yang dialami industri tekstil Majalaya tersebut harus diatasi dengan tujuan untuk mengembalikan industri tekstil Majalaya sebagai penggerak ekonomi rakyat. Peran desain dalam kaitannya dengan hal ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan produk yang diminati masyarakat. Desain merupakan aspek yang penting bagi pengembangan produk, juga sebagai salah satu kriteria utama dalam proses pemilihan produk oleh pembeli. Salah satu cara yang dapat dilakukan untuk menghasilkan produk yang diminati adalah dengan menganalisis persepsi konsumen. Hal ini dilakukan karena tujuan dari analisis persepsi konsumen adalah untuk mengetahui aspek-aspek apa saja yang mempengaruhi minat konsumen untuk membeli produk. Aspek-aspek tersebut dapat diterapkan sebagai strategi untuk pengembangan produk sarung Majalaya. Metode survey dengan menggunakan kuisioner kepada konsumen sarung Majalaya dapat dilakukan untuk mengetahui persepsi konsumen terhadap produk sarung Majalaya. Dengan menganalisis persepsi konsumen, maka produsen dapat membuat strategi desain produk sarung Majalaya yang sesuai dengan minat konsumen.

Abstract

Pada tanggal 26 Agustus 2019, Presiden Republik Indonesia telah memutuskan bahwa sebagian wilayah Penajam Paser Utara dan sebagian Kutai Kartanegara di Kalimantan Timur sebagai lokasi pembangunan ibu kota baru Republik Indonesia. Rencana pemindahan ibu kota tersebut telah melewati kajian dari Badan Perencanaan dan Pembangunan Nasional (Bappenas RI). Namun penggambaran serta wilayah dan lingkungan yang ada disekitar wilayah IKN belum pernah ada gambaran yang pasti bagaimana masyarakat yang ingin berkunjung ke wilayah IKN khusunya Kalimantan Timur mendapatkan informasi terkait tempat tinggal (penginapan), tempat pendidikan, tempat ibadah, tempat kebudayaan serta objek wisata yang ada di wilayah tersebut. Dari sisi lain, media yang digunakan untuk menyampaikan informasi tersebut terus berkembang. Tujuan perancangan ini menghasilkan sebuah virtual tour 360 yang dapat berfungsi sebagai media pengenalan, informasi, komunikasi, edukasi, serta memberikan pengalaman virtual seakan sedang berkunjung ke wilayah sekitar ibu kota negara baru Indonesia
