Abstract

Abstract: Pop-up retail through its experiential marketing is currently developing; it has been used as one of marketing strategy not only for known company but also for start-up businesses in Manado. Pop-up retail such as pop-up cafés is implementing experiential marketing as their new way of marketing strategy to increase profit, recognized and to reach out their market. Word of Mouth which is the product of experiential marketing becomes a powerful weapon for pop-up cafés. The researcher conducted this research to investigate whether pop-up retail is effective marketing strategy toward customers in Manado and is it accepted or not. This study uses qualitative method with exploratory approach. Meanwhile in-depth interview is used to collect the data among the respondents which are Moffee Coffee Store customers. Findings of this research show that pop-up retail concepts as marketing strategy influence Moffee Coffee Store customers in many aspects significantly such as customer?s loyalty and brand recognition. From the results, Moffee Coffee Store as a pop-up café as their marketing strategy is accepted by customers in Manado. It is recommended that a pop-up retail to be more customer-oriented as the way how pop-up retail should be to give a memorable experience to the customers. Keywords: pop-up retail, experiential marketing, word of mouth

Abstract

The reasons why fitness is important for college students are to keep in shape and exercising, but for college students it can be an especially important part of their college years and their overall health, this research is to explore the effect of two important variables that according to author gives significant effect on retention of college students membership in fitness center Manado, the two variables are: reliability and tangibles. This research is tried to prove that the two variables are the most suitable variables to explain the retention on fitness center. Research method that had been used for this research is associated with multiple linear regression analysis technique. The population is college students in Manado, observed based on gender, age, marital status and income rate with sample as many as 100 respondents. The result of this research shows positive impact for these two variables which are reliability and tangibles generally give the significant influence for the customer retention  for college students in Manado. This shows that the quality of service in the fitness center greatly affect a students decision to visit a fitness center. Company must improve their service quality to improve students intention to come in the fitness center.   Keywords: customer retention, reliability, tangibles

Abstract

Abstract: As retirement is mostly experienced by all employees, the readiness to face the circumstance is urgently needed to survive the life subsequently. In fact, the employees’ orientations in their gender role, which is naturally diverse in the characteristics, influence the various state of the employee readiness. This study aims to determine the significance of the differences between male and female in civil servants at BKPSDM Talaud. Respondents in this study were 50 male 50 female and the sampling technique used was random sampling. The research method used in data collection is by using the Likert scale method, namely the scale of pension readiness which is made based on aspects of pension readiness developed based on the theoretical views of Sutarto and Ismulcokro. The data analysis technique used is the t-test analysis. From the results of data analysis obtained a significance value of 0.001 (p> 0.05) which means the difference in readiness between men and women Talaud BKPSDM employees. Employees who are entitled to receive good compensation from men and women who both maintain acceptable money so they can adjust to the good when retirement arrives. Employees especially those who are about to retire are expected to need to prepare not only externally but also internally. The external factors consist of many things such as financial, physical, post-retirement activities, environment and others. Abstract

ABSTRACT: Shopping is an activity that people often do to fulfill their everyday needs. This becomes the main reason for business people to open a retail store. A retail store is a place that people visit to fulfill their wants and needs. Transmart Carrefour Manado is a newcomer in retail business in Manado. In Manado, Transmart must maintain their strategy in order to compete with other retail stores. This research aims to evaluate the importance and performance of store attributes in Transmart Carrefour Manado. Store attributes are important elements that are as important as marketing strategy. In order to determine the value of variables of store attributes, this research takes a quantitative approach using convenience sampling. This research uses Importance and Performance Analysis in order to analyze the data. Store Image, Product Availability, Discounts, Product Assortment and Retailers Attitude are the variables of Store Attributes. Based on the results of the analysis, Store Image, Retailers Attitude, Product Availability and Discounts have higher importance and performance values, and Product Assortment has lower importance and performance to consumers. Transmart Carrefour Manado has to maintain the high importance and performance of these variables.Keywords: store attributes, importance and performance analysis

Abstract

Abstract: Risk is the possibility that an undesired outcome-or the absence of a desired outcome disrupts a business process. Suppliers should be able to predict their possible risks that might be happened in their business. This study aims to identify supplier risk for coconut supplier and to give insights about the risk management. Identified perceived risks are classified as performance and relational risks managed by trust and control mechanisms. This is a qualitative study. Eight coconut suppliers had been interviewed for collecting data. Six supplier risks in performance risks and relational risks were identified. Relational risks include untrustworthy partner, unsatisfactory product quality, and delay in product delivery. Performance risks include vehicle damaged, lack of human resources, and shortage of raw materials.  This research also identified trust-based mechanisms for supplier risks include farmer development and performance feedback. Control-based mechanisms for supplier risks include performance measurements and contractual agreement. The suppliers should try to implement the strategy of building trusts include goodwill trust and competence trust, and control such as output control, social control, and behavior control, simultaneously to help minimize relational and performance risks in the business. Keywords: supply chain management, supplier, risk, risk management.

Abstract

Abstract: Bank is a financial institution that generally built with an authority to receive money loan, and lend money to the client. Human resource management is one of management field that is specially learn about people’s connection and role in organization. The employee performance is firmly connected with the salary and incentive that they receive because it will be a positive nor negative impact to the quality of working and eventually will raise employee’s performance in an organization. Employee performance optimization as proof from the company side to raise their profit. The aim of this study is to analyze the importance and performance of compensation criteria such as salary, health insurance, bonuses, employee benefit, and overtime. This research is casual type of research, which uses primary data obtained through questionnaires and uses importance and Performance Analysis. 100 respondents are the sample size of this research. The result of this study shows that salary placed in quadrant I (very important but low performance), health insurance, bonuses, and employee benefit placed in quadrant II (very important and high performance), while overtime placed in quadrant III (low importance and low performance). So, related with the findings in this research, there are some recommendations for PT. Bank Central Asia TBK. Abstract

Abstract: The more customers will satisfy the more amounts they will pay or they will feel unsatisfied and change the mobile service provider brand or called brand switching. Some factors that influencing the customers brand switching are inconvenience and service quality. The aim of this study is to know the simultaneous and partial influence of inconvenience and service quality on brand switching of mobile service provider in Manado City. This research used multiple regression analysis with sample of 100 respondents. The result shows that inconvenience and service quality are simultaneously and partially influence brand switching. Reason behind brand switching on service provider are like a late response of operator, activation of packages that take much time, late messages delivery, and there’s no update of packages activation. When the customers didn’tget the quality of service they’re expecting before the purchase makes the customer dissatisfied and this ends up in customer switch to other service provider. The mobile service provider should pay attention more about the quality of service and inconvenience to determine the major factors influencing for switching in this hyper competitive era, to retain the customer by providing value offer to keep them satisfy and to make customer loyal Keywords: inconvenience, service quality, brand switching

Abstract

Abstract: Financial literacy is the ability to manage funds owned in order to develop and live more prosperously in the future. The bad impact of a poor level of financial literacy is that it can trigger a variety of financial problems. One of the most common financial problems is the issue of financial planning for the future (investment). The first issue regarding investment is the tendency of people with low literacy levels to make mistakes in allocating money they have. The purpose of this research to analyze the effect of financial literacy on investment decision on economy and business students at sam ratulangi university that has been measured through general personal finance knowledge, saving and borrowing, insurance, and investment and to identify dimension of financial literacy that the most effect on investment decision among students.This research uses causal type with a quantitative approach. The population of this study is the students who ever make an investment. sample of this research is 100 respondents with data obtained through questionnaires.The finding of this research shows that general persona finance knowledge, saving and borrowing, insurance and investment are significantly affect investment decision among students simultaneously. Partially, only investment variable that affect investment decision among students. As the recommendation, Financial literacy is a very important thing to support investment activities so students need to increase these factors.Keywords: financial literacy, investment decision

Abstract

Abstract: Business in modern era keeps evolving in order to meet the standard of customers thus creating certain types of criteria and even new barriers for new businesses in modern era. This forces the companies create strategies in order to survive the competition. This study aims to analyse the strategy of Pondok Teterusan restaurant to survive in the competition of grilled fish business. This study used qualitative method with purposive sampling. The sample of this study is owner and eight customers of Pondok Teterusan restaurant. The data collected by doing deep interview. The result shows that there is no special strategy implemented by the restaurant to survive within the industry. Customer review helps the restaurant to evaluate their performance, product differentiation makes the restaurant has variant menu and the restaurant has strategic location that affecting the survival of the restaurant. The restaurant can make the customer satisfaction or review board to collect the customer feedback. The owner also have to give more attention to the area of the restaurant to make the customer feel comfortable. Keywords: restaurant, strategy

Abstract

Abstract: Entrepreneurial orientation and innovation capability plays an important role in improving business performance and becomes an acceptable meaning to explain the firm performance. Most of the SMEs in Manado, they have a strong entrepreneurial orientation in their business. This research aims to identify the influence of entrepreneurial orientation and innovation capability towards firm performance. This research aims to focus on SMEs of grilled restaurant in Manado. This research using quantitative method. The examined population in this research are the owners of SMEs in Manado. The result of this research which is from questionnaire with 50 respondent shows that entrepreneurial orientation and innovation capability has a positive and significantly influence the firm performance simultaneously and partially. Researcher recommend For the owners to improve the performance of SMEs things that need to be considered and improved are the need for achievement, internal locus of control, self-reliance, and extroversion. Furthermore, Innovation is one of the important things towards firm performance, which is also has a positive impact on the process of innovation and performance. So that owners need to invest more in innovative capabilities and support efforts to introduce new types of innovation. Keyword : entrepreneurial orientation, innovation, and firm performance
