Abstract

The dry season in Batam brings the threat of drought. The dry season has an impact in the form of the threat of fires in settlements and protected forests in the Rempang and Galang Islands, Batam. Based on the survey and analysis activities in 2018, it is known that residential areas in Pasir Panjang Village often experience fires, however, residents do not yet have the knowledge and ability to handle early fire disasters. In the 2018 community service activities, socialization was carried out with the Batam City Fire Service, but it had not yet reached the technical realm. Fire handling training is required for residents with fire extinguishers, however, residents' access to this tool is still limited and the price is quite expensive. This activities has produced an application prototype based on augmented reality to simulate the use of a fire extinguisher as a media for educating citizens. The application prototype has been tested and can serve as a training medium for residents. In addition, this community service program also provides training and assistance in handling in a fire disaster.

Routine maintenance activities is conducted to ensure all systems function properly. The maintenance includes maintenance of ship mechanics and ship engines, electrical systems, and hull cleaning. Maintenance standard operating procedure (SOP) is composed to help ship crew conducting ship maintenance. The maintenance activity repairs system problems successfully and appreciated by ship crew, LAZ Batam, and Awal Bros Hospital as service provider; and community who benefited by the service. Healthcare service operates well although some respondents think there is lack of equipments. Safety equipment and medical equipment are not enough for 13% and 20% respondents, respectively. However, all respondent think that the maintenance activity has repaired ship system and ensure ship to operate properly, and deliver healthcare service well.

Abstract

Aircraft maintenance is very important in aviation safety. Therefore, ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) strictly regulates the people who can carry out the maintenance process. To be able to become a mechanic or engineer who maintains aircraft, it is necessary to have 3 stages, namely the basic certificate, type rating and AMEL (Aircraft Maintenance Engineering License). Currently in Indonesia there are only 13 AMTO (Aircraft Maintenance Training Organizations) that can issue the certificate. AMTO schools are limited because the facilities required by the authorities are very high and expensive. One of these facilities is a turboprop engine, a type of generator aircraft engine that uses a gas turbine to drive the propeller. The high cost of the training equipment facilities, which can reach hundreds of millions or even billions, gave rise to the idea to make a simple teaching aid about turboprop systems in general, namely the Axial Flow Turbine which applies the concept of a turboprop engine where the propeller can rotate due to mechanical motion from the gear that comes from the DC motor. Manufacture of Axial Flow Turbine components using lathe, and milling. The materials used are iron, plastic, and rubber. The Axial Flow Turbine can produce a maximum rpm of 200 rpm. After passing the maximum limit, the propeller's ability to rotate will decrease significantly. In the end, the Axial Flow Turbine teaching aid can be used as a learning medium, especially the turboprop system.

Abstract

Portable lights are electronic devices that can be used practically anywhere. They are manufactured to be sold to countries where access to electricity is difficult, such as countries in the African continent. One of these products is called "Mobiya", a rechargeable battery-powered portable lamp. The recharging process uses a DC power source with a Universal Serial Bus (USB) type power inlet. This article discusses the creation of a test tool to control the quality of Mobiya portable lamp production. The creation of this tool includes the process of designing, manufacturing, and testing. In addition, Preventive Maintenance is also presented in the form of statistical data processing to obtain the status and condition of the test equipment as a basis for maintenance. This study succeeded in creating a test tool capable of testing Mobiya portable lamps in accordance with production standards.
