Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan hasil belajar. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan Pre-Experimental Design dengan rancangan One Group Pretest and Postest Design. Data peningkatan hasil belajar diperoleh N-gain sebesar 0,59 dengan kategori peningkatan sedang. Hasil uji t berpasangan atau output paired sampels correlation mendapatkan Sig. 0,004 < 0,05 yang menunjukkan bahwa terjadi perbedaan antara sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Kesimpulan dari penilitian ini adalah penggunaan buku ajar berbasis etnosains pada materi pencemaran lingkungan pada siswa MTs Darussalam Katimoho dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.   Kata Kunci: hasil belajar, etnosains, pencemaran lingkungan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan literasi sains siswa terhadap pembelajaran berbasis socio-scientific issues pada materi zat aditif. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dengan rancangan penelitian one group pretest-posttest design. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Tulangan, semester ganjil tahun pelajaran 2019/2020. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu pengamatan, tes, dan angket. Peningkatan kemampuan literasi sains dianalisis menggunakan uji N-Gain skor. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan skor rata-rata kemampuan literasi sains siswa pada pre-test 45 sedangkan post-test 82. Peningkatan kemampuan literasi sains siswa tersebut dikategorikan sedang dengan indeks gain 0,67. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang diperoleh, dapat disimpulkan bahwa proses pembelajaran IPA berbasis socio-scientific issues pada materi zat aditif dapat meningkatkan kemampuan literasi sains siswa.   Kata Kunci : Literasi Sains, Socio-Scientific Issues, Zat Aditif.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the enhancement of students' science process skills with the application of guided inquiry model. The design used in the study was pre-experimental design with a research draft of one group pre-test post-test. Research was carried out with the subject of two classes VIII at MTs Hasyim Ash'ari Sukodono, where the first class had 32 students, and the second class had 36 students. This research was conducted in MTs Hasyim Asy'ari Sukodono because there has been no research in the school before, with the different time allocations from other schools, that is 4x35 minutes, where the curriculum determines the allocation of learning time 5x40 minutes and has not been established learning science process skills. Data collection techniques in the form of a question description that corresponds to the science process skills indicator. The result is the submission of science process skills, the percentage of achievement of each aspect of science process skills, n-gain pre-test and post-test, and n-gain every aspect of science process skill. The results showed that there has been an enhancement in every aspect of the science process skills, increasing the achievement percentage of each aspect of science process skills, and increasing the n-gain of each aspect of science process skills in two classes of 0.59 with medium category and 0.64 with medium category. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the guided inquiry model can enhance the students' science process skills, and can be applied to the pressure topic.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze HOTS content in two science books with the same chapter. HOTS content is seen from the indicators, sub-indicators, characteristics of material and questions. The research method uses descriptive methods. The type of analysis is content analysis. Determination of the sample using purposive sampling technique in the form of two books, namely the student’s book of Sciences SMP/MTs class VIII Semester 1 Curriculum 2013 revised edition 2017 published by the Ministry of Education and Culture as book 1 and the Science book TERPADU Junior High School Class VIII Curriculum 2013 revised edition 2016 published by Yudhistira as a book 2, in the same chapter, namely the Chapter Structure and Function of Plants. Data collection techniques use documentation study, careful reading, careful assessment of data sources. The results in book 1, there are 9 contents of HOTS material. The indicators that appear analyze (C4) 67%, evaluate (C5) 22%, and create (C6) 11%. There are 4 contents of HOTS questions. The indicators that appear analyze (C4) 75% and evaluate (C5) 25%. the percentage of HOTS in one chapter in this book is 41%. In book 2, there are 6 contents of HOTS material. The indicators that appear analyze (C4) 50%, evaluate (C5) 17%, and create (C6) 23%. There are 5 contents of HOTS questions. The indicators that appear analyze (C4) 60% and evaluate (C5) 40%. the percentage of HOTS in one chapter in this book is 20%

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to analyze student misconception and describe the factors that cause students misconceptions about human respiratory system materials. This research was descriptive research that involved 65 students in VIII grades from two classes in SMPN 1 Sidoarjo. The instruments that used in this research was four-tier test completed with certainty of response index (CRI) and interview. The results showed there was student misconceptions on human respiratory system materials that consist of structure concept and function of the human respiratory organs, respiratory mechanisms, respiratory frequency, respiratory volume and diseases human respiratory system. The percentage of students’s results of the Respiratory System material was 62,15% students have a misconception. The factors that caused students misconceptions include the students themselves, learning method, teaching method, and daily context.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the creative thinking skills of junior high school students on environmental pollution material in terms of gender differences. This type of research is descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The research subjects were class VII B students of SMP Negeri 1 Paciran for the academic year 2020/2021 with a sample of 30 students. The sample was determined by purposive sampling. Data collection techniques using tests and questionnaires. The data analysis technique used descriptive statistical processing. The results showed that the percentage score of students' creative thinking skills on indicators of fluency was 87.6%, original thinking was 52%, flexible thinking was 68.5%, and elaboration was 67%. Based on the analysis of gender differences. the ability of male students on the fluency indicator was 87.14%; originality 53.57%; flexibility 63.52%; elaboration 70%. The ability of female students on the fluency indicator is 88.13%; originality 50.63%; flexibility 72.81%; elaboration 64.38%. In terms of gender differences, the indicators of fluency and flexibility of female students are higher than male students. Originality and elaboration indicators of male students are higher than female students. Positive responses through questionnaires showed that male students had higher creative thinking skills than female students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze online learning activities using the LMS Google Classroom during the Covid-19 pandemic on environmental pollution material. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, namely by describing student activities during online learning. The subject of this research were students of SMPN 1 Sidoarjo class 7C and 7E totaling 60 students. The data analysis technique through 3 stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the LMS Google Classroom was vital and helped students to show their learning activeness during online learning. The number of students who are active when learning using Google Classroom is 75,5%. Problems arise during online learning were related as running out of quota, low signal, smartphone errors, attending family events, not being able to access questions that have been assigned and not checking new assignments in Google Classroom. Teachers have made various efforts and provided innovations so that learning using the LMS Google Classroom can foster student activity during online learning and learning materials can be accepted by students to the maximum.

Abstract

The learning process in online classes during the pandemic rarely comes to practice, this can be overcome with a Home Laboratory practicum. Knowing the effect of implementing a Home Laboratory on the topic of heat transfer on the science process skills of SMP Negeri 60 Surabaya students during the covid 19 pandemic is the purpose of this research. Quasi experimental was used as the design and subjects of this study were students of class VII-A, VII-B, and VII-C of SMP Negeri 60 Surabaya for the academic year 2020/2021. The sample selection using random sampling technique or random selection of as many as twenty students. The instruments used are test and non-test with quantitative descriptive methods. The tests are in the form of pretest and posttest with multiple choice reasons, while the non-test is Home Laboratory performance assessment and student worksheet assessment. The data collection technique used a written test in the form of reasoned multiple-choice questions, the results were analyzed through percentages and then projected on improving science process skills. The interpretation criteria of the results of the analysis of each aspect of the science process skills of each student experienced an increase from the pretest. The average value of the performance score in each Home Laboratory practicum is said to exceed the KKM, which is 91.6. Overall, the results of the research on the implementation of the Home Laboratory practicum on the topic of heat transfer during the pandemic at SMP Negeri 60 Surabaya is said to be influential in training students' science process skills.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the application of a scientific approach to science learning during the pandemic at SMP Negeri 58 Surabaya. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The data used is in the form of learning recordings carried out through web meetings such as Google Meet and Zoom.. The resource persons of this research are science subject teachers. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews, document studies and questionnaires. The analysis technique is through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the teacher had made a lesson plan with a scientific approach but the teacher had not explained it explicitly, systematically and comprehensively because the teacher found it difficult to determine the approach and model used during bold learning in each meeting. The implementation of learning by teachers has used a scientific approach, including the process of observing, asking questions, gathering information or trying, associating or reasoning and communicating but in its implementation it is still not optimally carried out there are several obstacles between passive students in learning, limited learning time and lack of ability of educators in learning. implement a scientific approach. Teachers use authentic assessments to assess the competence of attitudes, knowledge and skills of students. The teacher has not completed the assessment instrument and rubric because the teacher is not used to using the assessment instrument.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation and effectiveness of the discovery learning model in improving learning outcomes on digestive system material. The subjects of this research were 26 students of class VIII-G SMPN 54 Surabaya. This research method is descriptive quantitative research design with one group pretest posttest design. The instruments used were pretest and posttest sheets each with 12 multiple choice questions and discovery learning implementation sheets. The results of the implementation of discovery learning obtained a very good category in 4 modes. The results of the homogeneity test state that the data are homogeneous with a significance level of 0.06. In the normality test, the data is normally distributed with a significance level of 0.39. The dependent t-test shows alpha 0.00 so that it is known that there is a significant difference between the pretest-posttest learning outcomes. The result of the implementation discovery learning is effective in improving learning outcomes on digestive system material.
