Abstract

The old view, learning as a process of interaction between lecturers and students in the context of knowledge transfer. Along with the times with the era of sophisticated technology and globalization, the concept is no longer appropriate. In this era of technology and globalization, the challenges of life are increasingly complex.  Student centered learning must be interactive, fun, challenging, motivate students to participate actively, and provide sufficient space for initiative, creativity, and independence in accordance with the talents, interests, and physical and psychological development of students. From the various existing learning models, innovation can choose project-based learning model. Students constructively carry out deepening learning with a research-based approach to weighty, real, and relevant problems and questions. Science process skills are important skills to be used in the science learning process such as in studying chemistry. In addition, science process skills also reflect the behavior of scientists in classifying science, but the current science process skills of students are still low. The purpose of this study is to analyze application of project-based learning model on basic chemical colloidal materials to improve science process skills and student learning outcomes. The research area was carried out in the Chemical Education Study Program, PMIPAFKIP, Universitas Jambi in the odd semester 2021/2022. The population in the study were all students who contracted Basic Chemistry II in the odd semester of the 2021/2022 academic year. The sample was taken in one class. This research is a quantitative study using a pre-experimental design type one group pretest-posttest (single group initial-test-posttest). The results showed that project-based learning model can be applied to basic chemical colloidal materials. Students' science process skills in learning colloidal materials by applying project-based learning model are very good. Student learning outcomes in learning basic chemical colloidal materials by applying project-based learning model are very good.

Abstract

The current government policy is that scholars do not look for work anymore, but create jobs. Furthermore, the Minister of Education and Culture launched an independent campus policy that carried four policies. The second policy is the right of students to study outside the study program, for example to become entrepreneurs. From the government's policy and the Minister of Education and Culture, entrepreneurship-based basic chemistry teaching materials are needed. The purpose of this research is to develop entrepreneurship-based basic chemistry teaching materials that are feasible theoretically and practically. This teaching material is expected to provide opportunities for students to become entrepreneurs. The development model used is the 4-D model (Four D) developed by Thiagarajan consisting of 4 main stages, namely: Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate. Based on the analysis of student needs, the orientation of the dominant college student is to become an ASN. They are interested in entrepreneurship in the chemical field as a side job. However, they hope that the lecturers in teaching link the course material with the field of business. The teaching materials "Basic Chemistry based on Entrepreneurship" that have been developed obtained a score of 94.8% and 86.6% from material experts and entrepreneurship experts (theoretically). The responses of 2 basic chemistry lecturers were 90.6% and 88%, while the student responses were 93.3% (practically). From the validation data of material experts and entrepreneurship experts, it can be concluded that the teaching materials developed are theoretically feasible. Abstract

Kimia sangat dekat dengan kehidupan keseharian siswa untuk mendukung kegiatan pembelajaran kimia di lakukan praktikum guna mendukung siswa lebih memahami materi yang di berikan guru di kelas. SMAN 7 Sarolangun dipilih karena sekolahnya ada dekat dengan pasar dan memiliki laboraturium, kekurangnnya belum optimal saja penggunaan laboratoriumnya terkendala dengan alat yang mau dilakukan seperti misalnya kertas Ph yang biasa di gunakan pada praktikum sifat larutan (asam basa). Sintesis ekstrak dalam bentuk kertas/cutton bad dan di gunakan sebagai alat praktis untuk menggantikan kertas lakmus dalam menentukan sifat asam dan basa suatu larutan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Penelitian ini di lakukan dalam dua tahap yaitu sintesis kertas indikator dan penentuan kisaran Ph dan kelayakan. Teknik pengumpulan data di lakukan dengan menggunakan lembar observasi untuk pengujian kertas indikator asam basa dari ekstrak tumbuhan dan angket untuk pengujian kelayakan kertas indiator siswa kelas XI dengan 35 siswa peserta didik. Evaluasi kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan diawal maupun diakhir kegiatan pengabdian. Target rencana capaian luaran jangka panjang dengan menganalisis kebutuhan potensi sumber daya, sarana prasarana sekolah, mengidentifikasi faktor pendukung, tingkat keberhasilan program serta kendala-kendala yang dihadapi. Target capaian luaran jangka panjang dari kegiatan ini yaitu publikasi ilmiah pada jurnal nasional berISSN maupun di media massa cetak/online Waktu pengabdian selama 8 bulan mulai April hingga November 2023. Peserta kegiatan adalah guru kimia dan siswa kelas XI SMA N 7 Sarolangun
