Abstract

Kesha Ratuliu's video clip “Tak Mau Berubah” shows and depicts violence against women. The purpose of this research is to find out the representations of violence against women that occurs in Kesha Ratuliu's video clip "Tak Mau Berubah". This study uses the theory of Mass Media Social Reality Construction. In this study, the paradigm used is constructivism and the analysis used in this study is the semiotic analysis of Charles Sanders Peirce which has signs, objects, interpretants. The approach in this research is qualitative and the type of research used is descriptive. So that this research produces a representation of physical violence against women such as being thrown by a pillow, then holding the cheek so tightly, being threatened, and humiliated in public.

Abstract

Motorbike riding is still often differentiated in society based on gender, this is denied by many mass media and the Motoladies community. The study aims to find out about the reception of Motoladies community members regarding to the female stereotype in riding big bikes of online media, using Stuart Hall’s Encoding-Decoding theory. The paragim audience reception analysis, with three positions namely Dominant Hegemony, Negotiation, Opposition. Based on the result of the study, six informants enter the position of Dominant Hegemony and one informant in the position of Negotiation. All the informants give big support for changing the stereotype of female in riding big bikes regarding to the mess media in this research.

Abstract

Suicide bombings are a frequent act in Indonesia. The purpose of this study aims to find out the okezone point of view as a news writer on the news of suicide bombings that occurred in Medan. This study uses the paradigm of constructivism to understand construction and assess the point of view of researchers. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. The media text analysis method is used in this research to analyze the content of the message and spread the results of the research in detail. Using Robert Entman's framing analysis we know that this case is a case of terrorism resulting from a false understanding of religion. The result of this study is known that Okezone as a news writer stated that the suicide bombing in Medan was an act of terrorism. This terrorism exists because of the radicalism movement that wants change by using violence to turnradicalism into terrorism.

Abstract

Native during the Dutch colonial period were often oppressed because their strata were low. The depiction of indigenous figures is depicted in the film Bumi Manusia. This study aims to determine the depiction of indigenous figures in the film Bumi Manusia. In this research, the researcher uses the theory of social reality construction, qualitative approach and semiotic analysis method from Charles Sanders Peirce. Researchers use the triangle of meaning, namely sign, object and interpretant. The results of this study found that there are five depictions of indigenous figures in the Bumi Manusia film, namely: representation of the role of indigenous children through objective and subjective factors, the desire of Minke to uphold the status of indigenous people so as not to be humiliated by foreign nations. Minke tried to fight the Dutch for the injustice that befell the natives. Films can construct the depiction of indigenous figures through every sign they use.

Abstract

Electronic technology development in Indonesia can be utilized for various aspects, one of the aspects is the existence of esports. Messages or informations that delivered by the caster in the esports match has various responses or reactions from the audiences. This research aims to determine Squad Hawk Eyes’ reception in interpreting the information given by the caster in Piala Menpora Esports 2020 at the grand final qualification. This research uses Stuart Hall's encoding- decoding theory and constructivism paradigm with a qualitative approach. The data collection technique uses in-depth interviews. In analyzing the data, the researcher uses the audience reception analysis with Stuart Hall's three categories: Dominant Hegemony, Negotiation, and Opposition. The results showed that informants who are in the position of Dominant Hegemony can receive messages from caster Pak Pulung and Kornet on the Menpora Esports Cup, related to the importance of the function of caster in esports matches, responses regarding esports matches must be equipped with caster and gimmick performed by caster Kornet and Pak Pulung. And informants who are in a negotiating position regarding caster esports are better for men.

Abstract

As the rapid progress in cyberspace or we are familiar with the internet, now filmmakers no longer rely on television and the mainstream media to showcase work. As in this study which discusses a series of shows on social networks that can be enjoyed anywhere and anytime, commonly referred to as "web series". With social reality construction theory and mass media, constructivism paradigm and Charles Sanders Pierce's semiotic analysis used to carry out this research, researcher try to analyze nonverbal messages through the signs that appear in this show. Not many people pay attention when watching a show. The research results obtained by researchers in the form of nonverbal messages such as eye-sights, facial expressions and body language are significantly deeper than verbal messages.

Abstract

Juvenile delinquency is a problem that is rife. Juvenile delinquency cases continue to increase both in terms of quantity and quality. Initially, adolescent behavioral deviations were in the form of cheating, truancy and smoking. But now it has been transformed into criminal behavior such as brawl, working in the world of prostitution, narcotics abuse, and free sex. This study uses Stuart Hall's encoding-decoding theory with a constructivism paradigm and a descriptive qualitative approach. The active audience in this study were students of SMK Perguruan Cikini. The meaning by the audience or the decoding process occurs using the frame of reference and the field of experience that is owned. Like the juvenile delinquency shown in the Extracurricular series. The results of this study indicate that there are differences in the meaning of each informant regarding juvenile delinquency committed by high school students in the Extracurricular series. In adolescence who are still unstable, it is easy for teenagers to fall into negative things. Many factors influence the occurrence of juvenile delinquency, such as economic factors, lack of parental supervision, and adverse environmental influences.

Abstract

Broadcasters is a broadcast style created by broadcasters so that the programs they deliver have their own characteristics. Elgangga Radio's a Betawi accent as his trademark and builds Radio Elgangga's Brand Awareness as a dangdut radio. The purpose of this study was to determine how air personality is formed to build brand awareness in Radio Elgangga 100.3 FM. This study uses Ben G. Hennke's theory which states that the strategies that must be owned include Communication of Ideas, Communication of Personality, Projection of personality, Pronounciation, Voice Control. This study uses a post-positivistic paradigm with a descriptive qualitative research approach. The data collection techniques used were in-depth interviews and documentation. The results showed that the way to communicate with Elgangga Radio broadcasters was using Betawi language to build chemistry or closeness in greeting listeners. So that programs on Radio Elgangga always have loyal listeners.
