Abstract

Setiap aktivitas praktikum yang dilakukan oleh taruna pada program studi teknik pesawat udara, maka aktivitas tersebut memiliki risiko yang perlu tindakan mitigasi. Dalam safety risk management mengharuskan program studi untuk melakukan penilaian risiko yang dapat terjadi dari suatu aktivitas dengan menggunakan hazard identification, risk assessment and mitigation. Dengan mengidentifikasi jenis hazard, menilai risiko, mendapatkan hasil berupa risk matrix dan risk level dan mengidentifikasi tindakan mitigasi yang dapat dilakukan dan diterima. Selanjutnya menghasilkan dokumen hazard identification and risk assessment & mitigation (HIRAM), serta pengendalian risiko sampai pada tingkat acceptable dan tolerable dengan tindakan mitigasi. Safety risk management yang menjadi salah satu standard penerapan safety management system di Program Studi Teknik Pesawat Udara dapat terpenuhi.

Abstract

The propeller blade is a component that is the main source of thrust on the ATR 72 aircraft. Based on data from the Aircraft Flight Maintenance Log (AFML) for the period 2019 – 2021 ATR 72 aircraft, the propeller blade component was damaged causing the need for unscheduled removal which had impact losses to airlines such as delays and aircraft-on-ground (AOG). This study aims to find the root causes of damage to the propeller blade components. Analysis was carried out using the Root-Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) method using fault tree analysis (FTA) and fishbone diagrams as tools so that factors related to propeller blade damage will be found. The results of analysis using fault tree analysis (FTA) and fishbone found that the root cause of damage to the propeller blade was in the area of ​​the heating element (de-icer) as the top event, while the propeller blade operation, propeller blade maintenance and the ATR 72 aircraft operating environment were the intermediate events

Abstract

: The purpose of this research is to examine the utilization of flight simulator in Aviation Vocational School and its impact on increasing the interest and talent of cadets. Simulators have become crucial devices in training prospective pilots and provide real-life experience in facing diverse and complex flying situations. A total of 20 first-year cadets were the respondents in this study. The research method used an experimental study, where performance measurements were taken during the initial test, 5, and 10 hours of simulator usage. The test results showed a linear improvement in flying performance with the duration of simulator usage (calculated t-value > table t-value ranging from 0.375 to 0.530). The respondents experienced a relatively high improvement in performance (55.8%) compared to the first hour of usage (25.2%).
