Abstract

The aim of this research was to study the influence of the organoclay contents to the mechanicalproperties of nanocomposites materials. In situ polymerization used to synthesize nanocompositesepoxy-organo clay materials. Tensile test and compressive test were conducted based on ASTMstandards. The nanocomposite properties were compared to epoxy matrix polymer. The amount oforganoclay contained influence to mechanical properties of nanocomposite materials. The addition of10.5 wt.% organoclay improved the tensile modulus about 185%. These decreases in the strength maybe attributed to the fact that agglomerates and voids were formed. The compression test result showedthat the addition of 3 .1 wt.% organoclay demonstrated a I 02% increase in compression strength and a93% increase in load maximum compare to epoxy resin. An addition of 7.3 wt. % organoclaydemonstrated an increase of modulus of the epoxy resin by 93%. Meanwhile, the addition of 10.5 wt.% organoclay caused the decreasing in yield compression up to 31 %.

Abstract

Pneumatic and hydraulic learning media are ussualy used sofware that intergated on a computer device. Android based learning media can be use as an alternative media that can fullfill the limitation of computer based media. This study aims to produce and to determine the feasibility of android based learning animation media in pneumatic and hydraulic subjects, especially pneumatic components. Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation (ADDIE) is used as a research method in producing learning media. The respondend are students of the Department of Mechanical Engineering Education who have passed and are currently contracting pneumatic and hydraulic courses. Judgment of instructional media is carried out by material experts and media experts. The results shows that the android based learning media are feasible to be use in the learning activities with the judgment score from media and subject experts are 89,5% and 94%, respectively. Moreover, student respondends were also give good score with the presentase 84,8%.

Abstract

Research has been carried out to map and identify the potential for soil corrosion for the planning of cathodic gas pipeline protection systems. The research location is located in Cimanggis - Bitung, West Java, which is located at coordinates 6o19'00 "- 6o28'00" South Latitude and 106o43'00 "- 106o 55'30" East Longitude. Measurement of soil resistivity using the Wenner method that refers to ASTM G37, with variations in the distance of 0,75m, 1,50m, 2,50m and 6,00m with the number of measuring points as many as 185 points. Based on the results of data processing and soil resistivity interpretation seen that there are several locations that have low to extreme corrosion levels. Therefore, for these locations, technical planning and calculation for the protection of the pipeline to be installed is necessary.

Abstract

Masyarakat yang berstatus pengangguran di Desa Kertamulya diharapkan dapat berwirausaha untuk menaikan taraf hidupnya dibandingkan menunggu pekerjaan yang belum jelas. Namun minat, motivasi dan bekal berwirausaha masyarakat belum cukup untuk mewujudkan hal itu. Tujuan pada pelatihan ini untuk memberikan bekal untuk merintis usaha khususnya usaha bengkel las. Metode kaji tindak digunakan pada pengabdian ini. Implementasinya dengan pelatihan yang dilanjutkan pendampingan. Untuk mengukur pencapaian hasil pelatihan dilakukan tes diakhir pelatihan. Khalayak sasaran ialah pemuda berusia 20 – 30 tahun. Hasil dari pelatihan ini didapatkan bahwa peserta pelatihan dapat menguasai pengetahuan dan keterampilan berupa materi dasar perbengkelan dan pengelasan dengan rata rata pencapaian 78% dari keseluruhan materi. Keberhasilan pelatihan juga dapat dilihat dari produk yang dihasilkan yaitu dudukan pot bunga dari besi yang mempunyai kualitas yang sama dengan yang ada di pasaran. Kesimpulannya melalui pelatihan las dekoratif, peserta pelatihan yaitu pemuda Desa Kertamulya dapat menguasai bekal merintis usaha bengkel las.

Abstract

This research is intended to determine the optimum combination of parameters and how much the contribution of the parameters of cutting speed, oxygen gas pressure, and nozzle distance to the width of the cutting kerf. This research was conducted with a method, namely Taguchi Design of Experiments (DoEs) by varying the process factors used in the AISI 1045 steel material cutting process. The control factors in this study consisted of three factors, namely cutting speed, gas pressure, and tip distance. The cutting speed and cutting gas pressure are significant factors in the optimization of the AISI 1045 steel cutting process for minimum kerf width with a contribution of 95.6%, while the tip / nozzle height factor is not significant in the optimization of the AISI 1045 steel cutting process for the kerf width minimum. The optimum parameter values to obtain the minimum kerf width in AISI 1045 steel are cutting speed of 250 mm/min, gas pressure of 3 kgf/cm2, and tip height of 4 mm. Furthermore, the results of the verification tests carried out indicated that the optimal process parameter formula obtained is feasible to use, indicated by the S / N ratio and confidence interval (CI) of prediction and verification that coincide with one another. The optimal process parameter formula can be used as a reference for industrial production activities with a 95% success rate.
