Abstract

Negative Energy Balance is a transition period that is transitional between 3 weeks before parturition until 3 weeks after parturition. Days open is the interval between calving parturition with marriage that produced approximately 85 days of gestation. Parity is a period in the reproductive cycle of cattle with an indication of the number of livestock parent parturition. The purpose of research is to find out the negative energy balance and open days at various parity cows parturition Fries Holland. This study design was used to observe the one-way classification parent dairy cows after parturition I, II and III respectively as many as 30 individuals. Data observation glucose levels and days open were analyzed by the General Linear Model (GLM) and followed by DMRT to determine the significance level of blood glucose levels and days open between parity parturition. The results showed that the blood glucose levels of 30 breeding dairy cows at parturition turns holding each parity parity I showed significant differences (51.57 ± 5.56 mg / dL) compared to the parent parity II (45.57 ± 8.01 mg / dL) and parent parity III (46.7 ± 8.62 mg / dL). While holding Open Days parity I (106.07 ± 38.11 days) showed a longer time than the days of open parent parity II (86.23 ± 29.00 days) and III (89.23 ± 38.22 days). The conclusion of this study is negative energy balance which were carried in the blood glucose levels are still within the normal range is 33-55 mg / dL. While holding open days longer than the first parity with the parent parity II and III.

Abstract

This research was conducted in Kupang State Agricultural Polytechnic, Prodia Clinical Laboratory, feed Chemical Laboratory of Animal Husbandry Faculty, and the Gadjah Mada University of from May 6 th until June 7 th , 2013. The aims of this resear ch was to determine the effect of skinless roasted tamarind seeds meal on hematology parameters in broiler chicken. The aims of this research was to determine the effect of skinless roasted tamarind seeds meal on hematological parameters and the level of skinless roasted tamarind seeds meal consumption in broiler chicken which can affect hematological parameter. This research used completely randomized design with 4 tr eatments and 6 replications. The treatments were basal ration without skinless roasted tamarind seeds meal (R0), 95% basal ration + 5 % meal of skinless roasted tamarind seeds meal (R1), 90 % basal ration + 10 % skinless roasted tamarind seeds meal (R2), 8 5 % basal ration + 15 % skinless roasted tamarind seeds meal (R3). The measured variables were the number of erythrocyte, hemoglobin level, hematocrit value, level of LDL, and HDL cholesterol, and triglyceride. The variants analysis to the number of erythr ocyte, hemoglobin level, and haematocrit value indicated that skinless roasted tamarind seeds meal had no significant effect to broiler (P>0.05). The level of LDL cholesterol from R0 and R1 had no significant difference. The R1, R2, and R3 treatments had s ignificant effect (P<0.01) on the LDL cholesterol of broiler. HDL cholesterol and triglycerida showed that the skinless roasted tamarind seeds meal had no significant effect (P>0.05).

Abstract

Blood is one of the parameters of the animal health status because blood has a function related to the transportation component in the body as nutrients, oxygen, carbon dioxide, metabolites, hormones, heat, and immune. The additional functions of blood is associated with fluid balance and pH of the body. The aim of this study was to determine the hematologic status of broiler age of 6 weeks were given rations of commercial and PROBIO FMplus. Lactobacillus was given in drinking water to determine the hematologic status broiler among erythrocytes, hemoglobin, hematocrit and leukocytes. This study useds a completely randomized design (CRD). with treatments without the addition of PROBIO FMplus (R0), 5% PROBIO FMplus (R1), 10% PROBIO FMplus (R2), 15% PROBIO FMplus (R3) and 20% PROBIO FMplus (R4) which is repeated 5 times. The results showed that the treatment did not give a significant (P> 0.05) on levels of hemoglobin, hematocrit, erythrocytes and leukocytes. The conclusion is administration of PROBIO FMplus on broiler with different levels of administration that does not give effect to increasing level of hemoglobin, hematocrit, erythrocytes and leukocytes.
