Abstract

Kata kunci : Rhizopora apiculata; Pelarut; Maserasi; Sonikasi; FlavonoidABSTRACTRhizophora apiculata is one of the mangrove species that grows on the west coast of Bengkulu. This plant is reported to have a high content of an antioxidant activity. This study aimed to compare the flavonoid content of Rhizophora apiculata leaves using variations in solvents using maceration and sonication methods. Rhizophora apiculata leaves were extracted by the maceration method for 48 hours and sonication for 15 minutes, each using hexane, ethanol, methanol, and water as solvents. The extracts were screened for phytochemicals with a color reaction, then continued with the determination of total flavonoid levels in the positive flavonoid extracts using the colorimetric method. The results of flavonoid content by maceration method of extract, ethanol, methanol and water were 8.503 ± 0.2917; 5.936 ± 0.182; 4.49 ± 0.095 mg EK/g extract, while by sonication method 6.736±0.271; 3.603 ± 0.22; 1,306 ±0.090 mg EK/g extract. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the total flavonoid content obtained was the highest in the ethanol extract using the maceration method. Keywords : Rhizopora apiculata; Solvents; Maseration; Sonication; Flavonoid.
