Abstract

Background : Stunting is identified by comparing measurements of childrent’s heights to the NCHS WHO2005growth reference population : children who fall potential as a result of suboptimal health and/or nutritionalconditions. Stunting prevalence in Indonesia still high level, this indicated health problem because associatedwith increase in morbidity and mortality, low cognitive capability and improper physical function. The purpose inthis study was to determine many environmental factors and behaviour associated with incidence of stunting. Methods : It was an observational research with case-control study design.Subject were divided into two groups: case and control groups in Elementary School student class 4 and 5 with 37 subject in case group and 53 subjectin the control group. Variables examined in this study was a history of exposure to pesticides, history of cigarettesmoke exposure, mosquito smoke exposure history, a history of using plastic as a place to store food is still hot, urinaryexcretioniodine (UEI), levels of urinary thyocyanate, anemia, TSH levels, Cholinesterase levels and BodyMass Index.Data was collected by interviewing, observation and measurement. Data would be analyzed using independent t–test or Mann Withney), bivariate analisys using Chi-Square and multivariate analysis using logistic regression.Result :This study indicated that the incidence of stunting was 37 %; 56,8% of them had history of pesticidesexposure. The results of the bivariate analysis showed that the risk factor of stunting in student is a history ofpesticides exposure with Odds Ratio (OR) 2,625. The result of logistic regression test showed there was asignificant association between the incidence of stunting with a history of pesticide exposure(OR 2,39).Conclusion :The history of pesticides exposure was the risk factor for stunting.Key words : Environmental and behaviour factors, stuting, elementary student, agriculture areas.

Abstract

Breastfeeding is proven to have long-term health benefits for both mothers and infants. The advancement of mobile technology is very useful in promoting health that can change health behaviors. The success of breast milk is not separated from the methods and media used. The study aimed to develop MIB-Model and to examine the effect of MIB-Model on behavior and self-efficacy of breastfeeding among mothers in providing breast milk. The application development method with the software development Live cycle (SDLC) with the waterfall model. The test model is conducted with Quasi-experiment with pre-test, post-test, and control group design. The number of respondents in this study amounted to 40 0rang, 20 for the experimental group, and 20 for the control group. MIB-Model proved its worth having performed with the ISO 9126 standard and can improve knowledge, attitudes, actions, and the baby's weight to the P-value <0.05. In unpaired data analysis, self-efficacy with P-value> 0.05 showed no differences between the intervention and control, support, and experience of being part of self-efficacy formation. MIB-Model is feasible to be utilized and improved primiparous breastfeeding mothers' behavior and the baby's weight and does not increase the self-efficacy mother

Abstract

Stroke is the main trigger that can cause disability in adults. Stroke patients are known to be vulnerable to oral health problems, such as periodontal disease, due to limitations in their daily activities so that dental and oral hygiene management is neglected. These dental and oral health problems can become worse when patients are treated in a stroke unit. For this reason, dental and oral health care needs to be taken in stroke patients. The study aimed to develop a model of dental and oral health care among stroke patients. Research and Development (R&D), on five research stages, namely: information gathering, product/model design, expert validation and revision, product/model trials (using quasi-experiments with pretest and posttest with control group design). The sample was divided into two groups, the dental and oral health care model in stroke patients in the intervention group and the oral health care model No.284 year 2006 in the control group. Data were tested using normality, paired t-test, post hoc LSD, Mann Whitney, and linear regression. The model of dental and oral health care in stroke patients was relevant as dental and oral health care was shown to be p <0.001. The application of dental and oral health care models in stroke patients effectively improves the skills of gargling in moderate stroke patients p <0.001, increasing the ability to brush teeth in moderate stroke patients p <0.001. The application of dental and oral health care models in stroke patients is useful as an increase in the skills to rinse and brush teeth in moderate stroke patients

Abstract

The results of Riskesdas 2018, showed 93% of children aged 5-6 years had dental caries with an average DMF-T of 8.3; as many as 57.6% experienced dental and oral health problems, and only 10.2% received services from medical personnel. The number of dental health problems in Central Java is below the national threshold of 57.6%. The proportion of dental health problems in Indonesia is still far from the expectation of achieving the long-term target of the Ministry of Health in 2030. Indonesia is caries-free. The aims of this study was to produce a "GERAHAM Model" to improve the behavior of mothers in brushing their teeth Research and Development (RD) methods, there are two stages of research, model development and testing the effect of the model using the quasi experiment method with one group pretest and posttest design. The GERAHAM model is a model that involves the mother's role in training children's habits to maintain oral hygiene, especially brushing teeth at home. The data were tested using the Wilcoxon test. The average results of knowledge before and after treatment were 10.20 and 12.70, while attitudes were 18.34 and 29.32, actions were 3.00 and 18.34. The Wilcoxon test showed that the molar model could increase the mother's knowledge, attitudes and actions (P=0.000). Conclusion: GERAHAM teeth model is relevant as a model of dental health education to shape maternal behavior in brushing teeth.
