Abstract

The study aimed to discover the combination of the variables of social relationships and means for self-fulfillment was effective for predicting students’ performance in mathematics. The subjects were 83 students of 11th grade of senior high school students in Yogyakarta. The variables were measured using the self-efficacy scale, teacher-student relationships scale, student attachment scale, parent support scale, school climate scale, and mathematics midterm exams. The data were analyzed using Stepwise regression analysis. The results indicated that out of the five independent variables, self-efficacy and teacher-student relationships were the most effective predictors. The contribution of both to mathematic performance amounted 13.3 percent, which was 6.3 percents higher if compared with self-efficacy only as single predictor. In addition, out of the five variables tested, it was the school climate did not have a significant effect on mathematic performance.

Abstract

This study explore the correlation between marital satisfaction and emotional maturity among husbands with working wife. The hypothesis to be tested is there is positive correlation between marital satisfaction and emotional maturity. Participants in this research were husbands aged 20-70 years old with working wife.  The Indonesian Moslem Marital Quality Scale from Wahyuningsih (2013) and emotional maturity scale from Singh and Bhargava (Kathuria, 2014) were used in this study. The data was analyzed by product moment analysis technique. Result showed that marital satisfaction was significantly correlated with emotional maturity (r =0,223, p<0.05).

Abstract

This study aims to find the relationship between social support and the caregiver burden for working women of sandwich generation. The hypothesis is tested based on the assumption that social support correlates with the caregiver burden. 108 female subjects working sandwich generation were selected in this study. Data was collected using a social support questionnaire based on the scale of the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) developed by Zimet (1988) and parenting burden questionnaire based on the scale of Burden Scale for Family Caregivers (BSFC) developed by Gräsel, Chiu, Oliver (2003). The analysis of this study uses the Product Moment correlation by Pearson. The results of the analysis showed that there was a significant negative relationship between social support and caregiver burden p=0.000 (p <0.05) and r=0.172. The results showed that the higher the perception of social support, the lower the burden of care for respondents.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kebersyukuran dan kesejahteraan subjektif pada guru Sekolah Luar Biasa (SLB) di Kabupaten Sleman, Yogyakarta. Jumlah subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 53 guru SLB. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuesioner yang terdiri dari tiga skala, yaitu skala kebersyukuran yang disusun oleh Listiyandini, dkk., (2015) dan dua skala yang digunakan untuk mengukur kesejahteraan subjektif yaitu PANAS (Positive Affect and Negatif Affect Scale) yang dibuat oleh Watson, Clark, & Tellegen (1988) juga SWLS (Satisfaction with Life Scale) berdasarkan teori yang dikemukakan oleh Diener, Suh, Lucas, & Smith (1999). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif yang signifikan antara kebersyukuran dan kesejahteraan subjektif pada guru SLB (r = 0,238, p = 0,043; p < 0,05), sehingga hipotesis dalam penelitian ini diterima. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa semakin tinggi kebersyukuran subjek penelitian maka kesejahteraan subjektif yang dirasakan akan semakin tinggi pula.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to conduct a meta-analysis study on the attachment with children and adolescents’ psychological well-being. In this study, the researchers conducted a meta-analysis of eight groups. The results show that (1) the correlation effect between secure attachment and positive psychological well-being was significant; (2) the correlation effect of secure attachment with negative psychological well-being indicates a significant value; (3) the correlation effect between avoidance and positive psychological well-being was significant; (4) the correlation effect between avoidance and negative psychological well-being was significant; (5) the correlation effect between anxious and positive psychological well-being was not significant; (6) the correlation effect between anxious and negative psychological well-being was significant; (7) the correlation effect between disorganized with positive psychological well-being was significant; (8) the correlation effect between disorganized and negative psychological well-being was significant. Q values on all results indicate a high heterogeneity which indicates the presence of a moderator.

Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan microteaching tenaga pendidik yang ada di Kelompok Bermain Tunas Mulia, meningkatkan pengetahuan tenaga pendidik tentang tumbuh kembang anak usia dini, dan meningkatkan kreatifitas tenaga pendidik dalam memanfaatkan bahan-bahan bekas pakai yang dimodifikasi menjadi Alat Peraga Edukatif. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini meliputi brainstorming dan Focus Group Discussion (FGD) sebagai asesmen awal, ceramah, diskusi, role play, dan praktik pemanfaatan Alat Peraga Edukatif (APE). Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa setelah mengikuti seluruh rangkaian kegiatan para tenaga pendidik memahami dengan baik tumbuh kembang anak usia dini dari aspek fisik, kognitif, kepribadian, social dan emosi beserta stimulusnya dan juga memahami dengan baik pada metode / model pembelajaran yang dapat diterapkan pada anak usia dini. Selain itu, tenaga pendidik juga mampu membuat Alat Peraga Edukatif dengan memanfaatkan bahan-bahan bekas. Dengan demikian, pengabdian masyarakat ini mampu meningkatkan pemahaman tentang tumbuh kembang anak usia dini, meningkatkan kemampuan microteaching dan meningkatkan kreatifitas para tenaga pendidik di Kelompok Bermain Tunas Mulia.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Kesehatan mental menjadi salah satu aspek penting dalam kehidupan manusia.  Namun, krisis global pandemi Covid-19 menyebabkan terjadinya gangguan mental di kalangan masyarakat. Maka dari itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan terkait implementasi konsep sabar dan huznudzan sebagai upaya perawatan kesehatan mental di masa pandemi Covid-19. Metode: Metode penelitian ini menggunakan studi pustaka (literature review) dengan teknik analisis data deskriptif. Hasil: Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa implementasi  konsep sabar dan huznudzan dapat mengurangi beberapa gangguan mental sehingga berimplikasi pada meningkatnya kesehatan mental. Kesimpulan: Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa implementasi  konsep sabar dan huznudzan dapat menjadi salah satu upaya perawatan kesehatan mental selama masa pandemi Covid-19Kata kunci: kesehatan mental, covid-19, huznudzan, sabar

Abstract

This study investigated the correlation between parental phubbing and smartphone addiction among adolescents. The number of participants in this study was 292 adolescents that, consist 76 boys and 216 girls who lived on Java Island with an age range of 12 to 21 years old. This study used the quantitative method with the Likert scale. The measurement for the variables in this study used Smartphone Addiction Scale Short-Version (SAS-SV) by Kwon et al. (2013) and Parental Phubbing by Roberts and David (2016). The analysis result of this study showed a positive correlation between parental phubbing and smartphone addiction among adolescents, with the coefficient of correlation r=0,200 and p<0,001. This finding meant that a higher parental phubbing score would indicate a higher smartphone addiction score. Based on the result, we can conclude that the hypothesis of this study is accepted.
