Abstract

The problem of clean water in Loa Duri Ulu Village, Loa Janan District, Kutai Kartanegara has been going on for a long time ago. The effort of making a water treatment system through this service activity, gives hope to the residents of Loa Duri Ulu village, Loa Janan sub-district to end the suffering of consuming less decent water for the better. The purpose of this service is to meet the needs of clean water through filtration-based water treatment. With the guidance from this community service team, the residents are expected to be able to make their own water treatment systems for their own needs at home. Through this service activity, it can provide benefits to the community in the form of improving the quality of drinking water, so that public health increases.

Abstract

This community service aims to improve the quality of Toman Fish Shredded and Honey products that have competitiveness, differentiation and strong and aesthetic packaging through training in design of packaging and label. The community service was held in the Lati Petangis Grand Forest Park (Tahura) area, Paser Regency. The objects of this community service are the Forest Farmers Group (KTH) and the Women Farmers Group (KWT). The problems faced by KTH and KWT are: (1) the flagship product has not been packaged in a good and attractive packaging; and (2) lack of skills in making packaging and label designs. This training requires several graphic design applications, so that KTH and KWT's flagship products have the attractive packaging and labels. The output produced is an increase in skills in packaging design and innovative product labels which are expected to increase sales of superior products.

Abstract

Sidomulyo Village is one of the villages in Anggana District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan. To alleviate poverty in Sidomulyo Village, many millennial farmers have emerged, one of which is the Independent Farmer Youth Group with rice as a potential commodity. One of the agricultural products from this group is rice with several varieties including Mikongga and Mayas Rapak with each harvest reaching 3-4 tons/ha. The rice produced is very abundant but does not yet have a brand and label on the packaging. Based on this condition, the solution that can be offered to the Mandiri Tani Pemuda Group is training in making labels on plastic packaging for rice using manual screen-printing techniques. The method used is the lecture method and training in manual screen printing for plastic packaging for rice. The result of this training is that all participants can make rice packaging labels by manual screen printing.

Abstract

Salo Palai Village is one of the villages in Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan which has the superior commodity of pepper 'Malonan'. Pepper land in Salo Palai Village reaches 169 ha with a productivity of 1.9 tons/ha. The pepper harvest is sold in granular form at a price of IDR 30,000.00/kg and there is no product diversification, such as pepper powder. This is what makes there is no increase in the selling value of pepper that has been produced by farmers. Community service activities in the marketing of powder pepper are expected to be an effort to provide an understanding of the importance of product diversification as an effort to increase selling value. The methods used are tutoring and training. This activity results the pepper powder products in packaged bottles with labels, which are expected to increase values.

Abstract

Batik is one of the handicrafts that contributes to the national GDP. Apart from being a handicraft sub-sector, batik is also included in the fashion sub-sector. Thus, batik is a commodity that needs to be taken into account and developed so that it can continue to contribute to the national GDP. Some tourist areas in Indonesia make batik as a distinctive souvenir with the characteristics of each motif. Pela as one of the tourist villages in East Kalimantan also wants to develop batik which has a distinctive motif. For this purpose, the Pela Village tourism awareness group, funded by the RASI Conservation Foundation, held a training for batik stamped with the pesut fish motif. The training method used is by delivering theory and direct practice of making stamped batik with a pesut motif. The results obtained from the training, the participants were able to make their own porpoise stamped batik with natural coloring.

Abstract

Nipah leaves and sticks have been used by craftsmen to make ketupat and brooms. The community service team recognizes the significant potential in utilizing nipah leaves and sticks to create high-value goods, specifically export-quality home decor crafts. Home decor items with a natural concept enjoy popularity in both national and international markets, catering to the needs of hotels, offices, and residences. In this program, a stick shaving machine was introduced to simplify the process of smoothing the sticks. The activity involved the participation of mothers and teenagers of productive age from Mesjid Samarinda Seberang Village. The program resulted in innovative products, including baskets, lamp hangers, and decorative mirrors. Furthermore, the participants displayed great enthusiasm, with a remarkable attendance rate of 90%, and their skills improved by 75%.

Abstract

Salo Palai Village is experiencing significant growth in new Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), particularly in the culinary sector. However, management practices are still conventional. Therefore, this community service aims to enhance the skills of MSMEs, especially in promotional media design and financial reporting. The activities involve lectures and hands-on practice. As a result of this training, all participants can now operate Corel Draw for promotional media design and are proficient in creating simple financial reports to monitor business performance.
