Abstract

Dalam proses bongkar muat di sebuah kapal container sebuah alat bongkar muat sangatlah dibutuhkan dan juga kondis yang baik juga diperlukan dalam proses bongkar muatnya. Berdasarkan fakta yang diperoleh penulis tertarik untuk membuat penelitian dengan judul “Optimalisasi Penggunaan Ship Crane Guna Memperlancar Proses Bongkar Muat MV. Madison Di Pelabuhan Nabire”. Dalam melaksanakan perawatan peralatan bongkar muat ada beberapa permasalahan yang dihadapi yaitu : bagaimana pengaruh rutinitas perawatan alat bongkar muat yang kurang baik terhadap kelancaran proses bongkar muat dan upaya-upaya apa yang dilakukan untuk mengoptimalkan penggunaan peralatan bongkar muat di pelabuhan. Sesuai dengan permasalahan yang dihadapi dalam melaksanakan perawatan alat bongkar muat muncul jawaban sementara atas masalah yang dikemukakan, diantaranya diduga bahwa gangguan yang dialami oleh alat bongkar muat di kapal MV. Madison disebabkan oleh kurangnya perawatan alat bongkar muat serta diduga bahwa gangguan yang dialami alat bongkar muat di kapal MV. Madison dapat menghambat proses bongkar muat. Berdasarkan analisa bahwa perawatan alat bongkar muat tidak dapat dilaksanakan secara teratur sehingga mengakibatkan sering terjadinya kerusakan pada alat bongkar muat yang tentu saja proses pemuatannya ataupun pembongkaran menjadi terlambat atau terganggu. Hal yang mebuat proses bongkar muat terganggu dikarenakan peralatan yang menunjang pelaksanaan perawatan alat bongkar muat kurang memadai sehingga kerja crew kapal kurang maksimal dan masalah waktu yang tidak dimiliki karena seringnya kapal melakukan operasi bongkar muat membuat crew selalu sibuk dengan operasi kapal yang lebih penting.

Abstract

STCW (Standart of Training Certification and Watch keeping for Seafarers) is a basicrequirement of training, certification and watch keeping in International level that has beenratified officially, as the Manila Amendment. Based on the results of the research, from theproblems mentioned are how the recruitment process, the obstacles faced from the influence ofSTCW Amendment Manila 2010 as well as efforts to overcome the obstacles encountered.Because it is necessary to handle so that the recruitment process in the company can runsmoothly. This research uses descriptive qualitative method that describes the existing phenomena,in detail about the recruitment process at PT. BSM Crew Service Center Indonesia andexplained the obstacles and efforts undertaken to overcome these obstacles. Data are collectedby observation, including description, and document analysis results. Recruitments process conducted by the company is in accordance with establishedprocedures. However, there are still many problems during recruitment process in PT BSMCrew Service Center Indonesia that is applicant or seafarers certificate which is not inaccordance with STCW Amendment Manila 2010, the quality of applicants who do not meet thecriteria of the company and applicants who have met and passed the selection stage when thereis a required position was already on board on vessel. From the existing problems, efforts aremade, among which the company can conduct training for seafarers who have been declared tobe accepted by the company and will on-board the vessel while also giving time to ex crewseafarers who sign off from the vessel and new applicants to update the certificate and thecompany can expand the vacancy information to be expected that comes to apply more andmore.

Abstract

An air compressor is an auxiliary machine used to compress gases that usually suck air from the atmosphere, in addition to sucking air or high-pressure gases from atmospheric pressure. The purpose of this study is to determine the efforts made in carrying out two-level air compressor maintenance on the KM SK 3 ship owned by PT. Trasindo diamonds in an effort to produce high-pressure air when sailing. This research method is qualitative descriptive analysis. Data collection techniques are obtained through field research by combining interview, observation, and documentation methods. The results showed that the maintenance of the air compressor on the KM SK 3 ship to produce high-pressure air has been carried out properly according to the manual book. The efforts made include carrying out maintenance and checking regularly and always paying attention to the lubrication and cooling system. Another effort made in compressor maintenance is the creation of a schedule for each change of lubricating oil, in order to monitor each change of lubricating oil. Furthermore, during docking and emergency situations, check the piston rings, connecting rods and non-return valves. Kompresor udara merupakan suatu permesinan bantu yang digunakan untuk memampatkan gas yang biasanya menghisap udara dari atmosfer, selain itu untuk menghisap udara atau gas yang bertekanan tinggi dari tekanan atmosfer. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui upaya-upaya yang dilakukan dalam melakukan perawatan kompresor udara dua tingkat di kapal KM SK 3 milik PT. Berlian Trasindo dalam usaha untuk menghasilkan udara bertekanan tinggi saat melakukan pelayaran. Metode penelitian yang diguanakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data didapatkan melalui penelitian lapangan field research dengan penggabungan metode interview, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perawatan kompresor udara di kapal KM SK 3 untuk menghasilkan udara bertekanan tinggi sudah dilakukan secara baik sesuai manual book. Upaya yang dilakukan diantaranya melakukan perawatan dan pengecekan secara rutin dan selalu memperhatikan sistem pelumasan dan pendinginan. Selain itu juga memeriksa alat-alat sebelum digunakan seperti alat-alat pengaman, packing-packing, seal-seal dan lain sebagainya. Upaya lain yang dilakukan dalam perawatan kompresor adalah pembuatan jadwal setiap mengganti minyak pelumas, gunanya untuk memantau setiap penggantian minyak pelumas. Selanjutnya pada pada saat doking dan situasi darurat melakukan pemeriksaan pada ring piston, connecting rod dan non return valve.

Abstract

Muara Berau Anchorage is one of the waters in East Kalimantan that many ships visit for coal loading and unloading activities. The coal export transhipment was carried out in the Berau Estuary, Samarinda because the draft of large ships did not allow it to enter the far and shallow river channel. In the execution of loading there is often a shortage of load caused by several factors. The purpose of the study is to determine the causes and impacts of load deadfreight and efforts to reduce the occurrence of load deadfreight in the coal loading process. The methods used are descriptive qualitative. Data were collected through observation, interviews and literature studies that were tested for validity and reliability tests. The results of this study show that the cause of the load deadfreight in the MV. RB MYA is the theft of cargo along the Mahakam river, spillage of coal cargo during the loading process, and lack of supervision in the loading process at the Jetty. The impact of the deadfreight of coal cargo is the occurrence of a shortage of shiploads and the occurrence of losses for shippers. Efforts were made to reduce the occurrence of payload deadfreights in the MV. RB MYA is to hold barge escorts, increase the effectiveness of communication between the ship and floating cranes, and increase the number of Foreman Jetty.
