Abstract

In these digital eras, a Google Translate cannot be separated from students in learning a foreign language. The practicality of Google Translate as online dictionary has changed the position of manual dictionary. This study was conducted to explore perception of students in Islamic Education Department in using Google Translate in learning English subject. A questionnaire consisted of open-ended and close-ended questions was distributed to 138 students of Islamic Education Department. Then, descriptive qualitative research employed to describe and analyze the data. The result show that students assume Google Translate as a good way to help them translate difficult words, sentences, and paragraphes from English to Bahasa or Bahasa to English. Although the students find several problems especially in the quality of translation, they are confident to overcome the problems with effective ways. Moreover, the positive impacts of Google Translate use is greater that the negative impacts for several considerations.

Abstract

Technological progress will have an impact on social changes in society. Along with these advances, the challenges of leadership have also changed in the face of these technological changes. This study tries to examine various literature related to leadership, politics and technological challenges in an effort to find the problems of the study to be discussed. Then the findings were as follows; First, leadership from a sociological perspective is leadership that faces challenges in accordance with technological developments. To deal with it, then as a leader it is necessary to implement the AGIL system by holding Islamic principles. Second, leadership from a political perspective is a leader who has challenges with individuals, institutions, organizations, parties and other institutions so that in facing these challenges.

Abstract

This longitudinal study thoroughly examined the enduring impacts of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based automated learning systems on enhancing English content understanding among secondary education students. Employing a quasi-experimental research design, participants were randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. The study spanned multiple academic terms, providing an extensive timeframe for evaluating the sustained effects of AI integration. The research incorporated diverse methodologies, including pre-test and post-test assessments, continuous monitoring of AI-based learning activities, and surveys/interviews with participants. The findings revealed substantial improvements in English content understanding among students exposed to AI-driven learning systems over an extended period. Cognitive development analyses demonstrated not only enhanced language proficiency but also improvements in broader cognitive skills. Behavioral changes, including heightened engagement, were noted, positively impacting the learning experience. The study critically compared its outcomes with previous research, contributing valuable insights to the evolving discourse on the long-term effects of AI in education. Implications for long-term AI integration in English education were discussed, considering pedagogical shifts, curriculum development, and ethical considerations. The study identified potential areas for future research, emphasizing the need for continued exploration in optimizing AI's role in education. Recommendations were provided for educators, policymakers, and developers to inform evidence-based practices. In conclusion, this research comprehensively explains the sustained benefits and challenges associated with AI-based automated learning systems in secondary education.
