Abstract

The curriculum contains indicators of the success of the learning process, starting from aspects of planning, implementation (core activities) and closing. For this reason, the curriculum requires effective management and development strategies, so that it is adaptive to the times and in accordance with the needs of students. This study aims to analyze curriculum management and development strategies at MTsN 4 Mandailing Natal. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive analytical study method. Data collection was carried out systematically through interview, observation and documentation studies. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using reduction techniques (data sorting), data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study conclude that the development of curriculum management in madrasas is optimized by the Head of MTsN 4 Mandailing Natal through 4 madrasa internal strategies, namely (1) curriculum development based on teaching materials must be equipped with references (books) as teaching companions; (2) teachers are required to be proactive in facilitating student learning processes and connecting students with various learning resources; (3) providing adequate teaching aids; and (4) providing direct guidance from the head of the madrasa to teachers in training activities or quality improvement workshops.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze SWOT in quality improvement planning at the integrated Islamic elementary school Ad-Durrah Medan. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive study method. Data collection was carried out systematically, starting from observations, interviews with informants, and document studies. Data analysis uses reduction techniques (data sorting), data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Finally, the validity of the study was tested through the persistence of observations and triangulation of data. The results of this study concluded that the quality improvement plan at SDIT Ad-Durrah Medan was well implemented, including the tahfiz al-Qur'an program, strengthening character education, adding extracurricular activities, and strengthening Islamic personal development programs. This is characterized by 4 aspects, namely (1) strengths, including strategic school locations, adequate learning facilities, competent school human resources, conducive and beautiful school climate, and assessment standards that involve (coordination) with parents/guardians of students; (2) weakness, in the form of an unaccredited school; (3) opportunities, including; potential (talents) of students, support from parents/guardians, academic and non-academic achievements of students at the city and provincial levels, as well as harmonious relations between the school and the surrounding community; (4) threats, critical attitude of students' guardians towards children's development, so that teachers must be wiser in leading learning, making decisions and giving exemplary attitudes.

Abstract

Teachers are partners for child development. On this basis, government policies favor efforts to improve teacher welfare, creativity, and teacher competence. This study seeks to describe strategies for improving teacher performance through workshop activities at MTsN 4 Mandailing Natal. This type of research includes classroom action research (CAR) as an effort to improve education from classrooms. The research subjects are 20 teachers who teach class VIII students (with various fields of study) for the 2021/2022 academic year. Analysis of research data based on quantitative methods using questionnaires and observations. It is carried out in components of 2 (two) cycles, covering the stages of planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The results of this study indicate that the strategy for improving teacher performance is very well implemented through a workshop at MTsN 4 Mandailing Natal. This is viewed from the core aspects of learning to be able to apply learning that there are no people or 0.00% teachers (not good category), 1 person or 5.00% of teachers are classified as sufficient, 6 people or 30.00% are classified as good and 13 people or 65.00% is classified as very good. If the sum of those categorized as good and very good reaches 19 people or 95.00%, understanding of learning strategies can be improved both in theory (conceptual) and implementation (contextual).
