Abstract

The river is one of the sources to meet the water needs of the community. Many residents still depend on the surrounding rivers for clean water for their daily needs. But ironically, the society’s concern for the cleanliness of the river has not yet grown. The low society awareness of environmental conservation in watersheds causes water pollution and water quality to be disturbed. The purpose of this service activity is to provide assistance in river management and conservation through the Sekardadu (Watershed Care School) program in Grogol Village – Giri – Banyuwangi. The method used was in the form of socialization/providing education and assistance by engaging directly with the community in conserving the river. The results of this activity were the community can implement the theory that has been given during socialization, they understands the importance of managing rivers, the emergence of society awareness and understanding to maintain river cleanliness, as well as the growth of shame culture when disposing of garbage, waste, defecation and polluting rivers so that water quality in the river is maintained thus providing great benefits for the continuity of daily life.

Abstract

Environmental problems, especially rivers, have become a global issue that must receive more attention because of their extraordinary impact on society. Some residents of Bedewang village still use the river for bathing, defecating and washing. However, ironically, most people are apathetic and care less about preserving the river, where residential waste is the biggest contributor to river pollution because they throw away kitchen waste, leftover food and diapers around the watershed. This Community Service activity aimed to increase public awareness of the environment through the SEKARDADU program in the Bedewang Watershed, Songgon - Banyuwangi. The methods used include socialization, providing education, and direct assistance. The activity results showed that residents can directly implement the socialization/education activities provided, the understanding of using clean water for daily needs and forming a community commitment to preserving the river so that disasters do not occur due to environmental damage.

Abstract

Early childhood education is crucial in laying the foundation for children's cognitive, emotional, and physical development. A vital aspect of this education is the introduction of colors and the developing of fine motor skills, which can be enhanced through coloring activities. This community service activity aimed to provide color recognition education through coloring activities to improve fine motor skills in early childhood. The targets in this activity are early childhood children (2-5 years old) and BKB cadres at Taman Posyandu (Tapos) Ceria Desa Rejosari, Glagah District, Banyuwangi. The methods used are lecturing, drilling, and mentoring. The results of this activity are that children can recognize, distinguish, and name various colors, children's fine motor skills, such as eye-hand coordination and hand movement control, are improved through coloring activities, and they can express themselves and their ideas through the strokes of color they pour on the given picture. Recognizing colors and developing fine motor skills are crucial foundations for supporting young children in preparing important skills for the following learning stages, such as reading and writing. Coloring activities can become a positive habit, encouraging children to spend time with productive and educational activities.
