Abstract

One measure of the success of a program organizers education is how the program graduates can be engaged or absorbed by the jobs that are available outside the campus, received an award from the labor market and that is much better is a graduate of the can to create new jobs so that it can absorb the graduates of the other that have not worked. The quality of an educational program can also be seen from the level of satisfaction of the users (Stakeholders). The reality on the ground is the magnitude of the number of graduates is not comparable with the field work that has been available. Also the alumni of the less ably meet the demands of field of working and operation are available, or entrepreneurship. There is also a sense of disappointment of the graduate users (stakeholders) of the competence of most of the alumni. This study aims to determine the absorption field work, knowing the perception of the stakeholders of the competence of the alumni and to determine the competencies or skills that should be given to the candidates for alumni of the Faculty of Tarbiyah dan Ilmu keguruan IAIN Padangsidimpuan that can answer the needs of the field work.the results of this study show that most of the alumni have worked on a variety of sectors, however, a large part can still work in the sector in accordance with their educational background that is from the field of islamic studies or education. Most stakeholders say positive things of the competence of the alumni FTIK IAIN Psp. Competency or skills that need to be given to the candidates alumni in accordance with the needs of the field work at this time is a skill in operating a computer, not just could be but smoothly and proficiently, especially in terms of data processing, such as MS Excel, Ms-Word, Power Point and technique organizes learning online that is effective and efficient.

Abstract

Peers have an influence on the development of adolescents, especially prospective students, especially when choosing a major in a college. Choosing a major in a college for each prospective student is often related to the peer group. Some prospective students in Indonesia when choosing a major are still influenced by peers when making a decision, this cannot be separated from the role of peers as people who have more or less in common in age and school who can broaden their views and influence the social development of adolescents, especially when a teenager will decide something regarding his education and career in the future. This study aims to describe the peer factor in influencing student interest in choosing a major in mathematics education. This research was conducted at IAIN Padangsidimpuan and the research participants were 25 students of the tadris/mathematics education study program at IAIN Padangsidimpuan. This research uses quantitative and qualitative approaches with descriptive research and percentage analysis techniques. In this study, the data obtained are data derived from questionnaires that have been filled out by research respondents. While the data analysis technique used in this study is statistical analysis of percentages, because the purpose of this study is to provide a description of the existing data. The results of peer factor analysis are divided into five categories in influencing student interest in choosing mathematics education majors, namely: a) very high influence 24%, b) high influence 40%, c) moderate influence 20%, d) low influence 12%, and e ) has a very low effect of 4%.

Abstract

Good Lesson Planning will make teachers easier in helping students’ learning; and students are also assisted in understanding the subject matter. Lesson Plan is developed according to the needs and characteristics of learners, schools and subjects. Each teacher is required to formulate a complete syllabus and lesson plans. A math teacher should be able to design a lesson plan in accordance with the characteristics and approaches contained in math. This study aimed to determine how the knowledge and ability of math teachers of Senior High Schools in Padangsidimpuan city in developing lesson planning. This research is classified into descriptive study. Data were collected by using competency test and questionnaires. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that the teachers’ knowledge in developing Lesson Plans is enough, while the ability of the teachers in developing is good enough. Finally, it is known that there is the significant correlation between teachers’ knowledge and teachers’ ability in developing Lesson Plans.

Abstract

Bessel functions find many applications in Physics and Engineering fields. Some of these applications are in the analysis of extended surface heat transfer where the cross-sections vary. Tables of various kinds of Bessel functions are available in most handbooks of mathematics. However, the use of tables is not always convenient, particularly for applications where many values must be computed. In the applications of Bessel functions in extended surface heat transfer, graphs are also available to provide quick evaluations of the values needed. However, reading these graphs always needs interpolation; this will be cumbersome and time-consuming if there are many readings to be taken. Mathematical formulas for Bessel functions are available but they are usually complicated. Software to calculate values of Bessel functions is also available. Excel, Maple, and Mathematica can also be used to compute the values of Bessel functions. A user can write a program for an application that involves Bessel functions. However, the use of Bessel functions in Excel is limited while Maple and Mathematica are expensive commercial software. In this paper, formulas for Bessel functions of and are simplified with adequate accuracy that can be used to easily compute values needed in the extended surface heat transfer analysis. It is found that errors for and are relatively small (maximum errors are 0.004% and 0.003%, respectively) in the range of 0.05 to 3.75 while the maximum error for is 3.678% for the same range. However, the maximum error for is reduced to 0.166 if the range is from 0.25 to 3.75.

Abstract

Mathematicts is an important subject at Elementary Schools. Preliminary observation at many Elementary School indicated that mathematic achievement’s students was not satisfactory. The student’s understanding of number operations was olso low. One of many ways to improve the student’s activities and mathematic achievement is through the use of block Dienes in teaching number operations.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lowlearning outcomes of students, because the learning process at school still uses conventional learning models. Mathematics learning tends to be teacher-centered, resulting in students being less active in the learning process. Therefore, the researchers conducted research on the Round Table type of cooperative learning model that can affect students mathmatics learning outcomes. The formulation of the problem in this study is whether there is a significant influence of the Round Table type of coopetive learning model on students mathematics learning outcomes in the trigonometry material of Tenth Graders of SMA Negeri 2 Padang Bolak. The purpose of this study was to determine the significant influence of the Round Table type of coopetive learning model on students mathematics learning outcomes in the trigonometry material of Tenth Graders of SMA Negeri 2 Padang Bolak. This research is a quantitative study using experimental methods with the research design is non random contol group pre test post test design. The population in this study were Tenth Grade of SMA Negeri 2 Padang Bolak which consisted of three classes with a total of 79 students. The sampel in the experimental class that was given treatment amounted to 27 students and the control class that was not given treatment amounted to 25 students. Data processing and data analysis was carried out using the T-test.The result of the T-test obtainedthe average value of the experimental clas after the Round Table type of coopetive learning model was applied to the results of the pre test to the post test, which was 68,89 to 75,741. While in the control class the results of the pre test to the post test, which was 65 to 71,8. Based on the results of hypothesis testing obtained thitung ttabel (2,1758 2,008) with a significance level 5% and dk = 50, then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence of the Round Table type of coopetive learning model on students mathematics learning outcomes in the trigonometry material of Tenth Graders of SMA Negeri 2 Padang Bolak.

Abstract

The background of this research is the writer's curiosity to the Graduates of Mathematics department at IAIN Padangsidimpuan. This article will describe the competencies of graduates of Mathematics department after they work. This article will also describe whether the Mathematics department has been able to prepare graduates' competencies in facing the challenges of the job market. The results of this study indicate that 95% of graduates are already working. Most of the graduates work in the education sector as mathematics teachers at various levels of public and private schools. It can be said that the place where they work is in accordance with their skill background. However, many of them still receive a very low salaries. Many of Ther salaries are under one million. For them, it does not matter, the most important thing for them is  they can work and they can apply their skills. Most of them are not too long to get the first job after graduated their studi, because before they graduate from their collage, they have started to look  for a job.
