Abstract

Students’ digital literacy has become crucial in society 5.0, but it also brings negative effects on students’ development. Character education comes to reduce the drawbacks of using technology, particularly the religious character. MTSN 1 Sidrap was selected as it develops students’ digital literacy through the integration of e-learning Madrasah and Google Meet. It also supports students’ religious character since it is a Madrasah, offering more religious subjects than junior high schools. This study used qualitative research with a semi-structured interview to obtain in-depth data. The participants in this research were three teachers. They were one female Mathematics teacher who is also an ICT (Information and Communication Technology) teacher and two male Islamic teachers. This study found that students’ digital literacy has met the standards required by the curriculum. However, students’ digital culture and ethics need more attention since students have an opportunity to access inappropriate content and plagiarism. The religious character could overcome such issues by implementing religious dimensions, particularly religious belief, ritual, devotion, experience, and knowledge. Moreover, the dimension of religious ritual reveals that although students practice the pillars of Islam, it does not practically make students stop doing things that are forbidden by the Islamic religion. Hence, the indicators of students’ religious character in the curriculum that focuses on students’ religious rituals or practices are inadequate. The dimensions of religious devotion and experience are crucial in describing students’ attachment to Allah, which can increase students’ awareness to avoid behaviors that violate Islamic teachings.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the perspective of three Indonesian Muslim students at Monash University concerning the availability of Religious Centre which facilitates some aspects of students’ spiritual inquiry. This study deals with the primary data through observation and semi-structured interviews as qualitative research. This research reveals that Religious Centre has a significant role in fulfilling students’ spiritual needs, including the prayer room for Muslim students, and also fosters students’ tolerance by putting prayer rooms for all religions in the same building. The university students found that Religious Centre is significant in preserving their religiosity and relieving them to perform prayers inside the campus. Likewise, it has eased students in managing academic challenges. In addition, this study found that Religious Centre has contributed to maintaining the religiosity of three Indonesian Muslim students: helping them cheering educational challenges and controlling their academic stresses.

Abstract

Pendidikan seksual menjadi aspek penting yang perlu diajarkan kepada siswa sejak usia dini sebagai fondasi untuk menjaga diri dari berbagai jenis kekerasan seksual pada anak yang terjadi di Indonesia. Sebagai salah satu penyelenggara pendidikan anak untuk usia dini dalam bentuk formal, Islamic pre-school menjadi pilihan yang populer di kalangan orang tua. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi sikap dan persepsi guru Islamic pre-school terhadap pendidikan anak usia dini di Makassar. Hasil penelitian ini menujukan bahwa pendidikan seksual di Islamic pre-school dilaksanakan dengan menyandingkan nilai-nilai ajaran agama Islam sehingga bentuk pengajaran semakin kompleks dan memberikan banyak manfaat. Pengetahuan guru dalam menerapkan tentang pendidikan seksual ini bersumber dari partisipasi mereka di masyarakat sehingga terdapat pemaknaan yang berbeda tentang pendidikan seksual dari setiap guru. Beberapa orang tua siswa juga masih menganggap tabu sehingga kurang mampu mengajarkan pendidikan seksual di rumah, padahal peran pendidikan seksual yang diajarkan oleh guru di Islamic pre-school harus juga diterapkan di lingkungan keluarga. Meski demikian, pendidikan seksual mendapatkan respon positif dari orang tua siswa.

Abstract

Modernization of pesantren management is an important agenda item to be implemented immediately in welcoming the era of "society 5.0." The massive use of technology and information in the era of "society 5.0" provides challenges as well as opportunities for pesantren to adapt substantively and administratively. The aim of this research is to get a description of the modernization of pesantren management carried out at the Pesantren Al-Kautsar Banjar in response to Society 5.0. This research used a descriptive-qualitative approach. The empirical research data collection techniques are carried out in two ways, namely, primary data collection through field research, interviews, and direct observation, as well as secondary data obtained from library sources. The results of the research show that the modernization of pesantren management has been carried out at the Pesantren Al-Kautsar Banjar with five indicators, namely intentionality, novelty, specificity, acceptability, and direction towards certain goals.
