Abstract

This study aims to analyze the errors of grade IX students in MTs Negeri Cimahi in solving circle problems, 32 students, and 6 random samples were taken. The research approach used is qualitative research with descriptive methods. The research instrument used in the test is based on bloom's taxonomy on the dimensions of cognitive processes that begin with C1-C6, where C1 is remembering, C2 is understanding, C3 is applying, C4 is analyzing, C5 is evaluating and C6 is creating. The test is examined based on the type of error Watson category and an analysis of student answer errors. The results showed that the type of error that was very high was 60% in the Above Other / AO type. Then for Omitted Data / OD errors, including a low error of 20%. Types of errors in Inappropriate Data / ID included in the low error that is equal to 13% and the last type of errors in Inappropriate Procedure / IP including very low errors of 7%. While the types of Response Level Conflict / RLC, Undirected Manipulation / UM, and Skills Hierarchy Problem / SHP errors are 0%, respectively, including very small errors. The cause of students making mistakes in solving circle problems based on the Watson category errors is the lack of understanding of the concept of the material being taught, students cannot solve problems according to the solution procedures and the lack of accuracy of students in working on given problems.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the mistakes of junior high school students in solving social arithmetic story problems and analyze the factors. The research method taken is descriptive qualitative. The research subjects were seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Cimahi. Data collection in this study was carried out by using a mathematical test method with four questions of social arithmetic and interviews with students who made mistakes. The data analyzed were taken from 10 students' answers by means of data analysis used for this study, namely data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. After the tests and interviews were carried out, the results of the tests and interviews with student answers were analyzed and conclusions were drawn about what mistakes students often experienced in solving story questions on social arithmetic material. From the results of the study, it was shown that the students' mistakes in working on story problems on social arithmetic material were that students did not understand the problem because the social arithmetic material given was about story questions, errors in making mathematical models, namely: students made mistakes in operating the answers. on the questions, and errors in the process or steps of working on the questions, namely: writing down what is known and determining what is being asked. Therefore, the factors that often cause students to make mistakes are that there are still many students who do not understand the basic concepts, students are less thorough in understanding story questions, so students do not understand the concept of arithmetic operations well.

Abstract

This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) whose purpose is to examine the improvement of the mathematical understanding ability (KPM) of high school students in class X on a three-variable system of linear equations. This study uses 3 indicators of KPM. The subjects were students of SMA Kartika XIX-4 involving 12 students. The research was carried out in 4 meetings with 2 cycles. Each cycle was carried out for 2 meetings. The data in this study were analyzed using Normalized Gain / N-Gain, the technique used in data collection was using a test instrument in the form of questions given at the pretest and posttest and using a non-test instrument in the form of an attitude scale questionnaire. The conclusion of this study is that the scientific approach shows a change in student learning that is more independent.

Abstract

Covid-19 is a rapidly growing outbreak around the world, one of the obvious impacts is the education sector. Inadequate education affects the learning outcomes of learners. One of the factors that affect student learning outcomes is the presence of motivation that comes from the student itself. Without the willingness to learn, it can be difficult for students to know what to learn and why they need to learn it. The research used is correlational and ex-post facto research using quantitative approaches that aim to find out whether students' learning outcomes in statistical material have an effect on learning motivation. The subjects used in the study were class IX students consisting of 6 students including 3 women and 3 men. Research instruments conducted using student motivation scale questionnaires and written tests of statistical material. The data analysis technique used in this study is a simple linear regression analysis using an average percentage of motivational indicators and spsss statistic 25 software. The results of the study proved that there was an influence of 62.2% between learning motivation and student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the test results of junior high school students' errors in solving mathematical understanding problems on set material in terms of Nolting's theory, which is a theory that divides into 6 types of errors: misread-directions errors (errors in reading instructions), careless errors (carelessness), concept errors (concept errors), application errors (application errors), test-taking errors (test-taking errors), and study errors (errors in the learning process). The method used in this method is descriptive qualitative with the research subjects of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 1 Parongpong. Data collection was carried out by giving tests as many as 4 description questions and processed using Microsoft Excel.

Abstract

The research aims to investigate the achievement of students' mathematical representation abilities in the material of flat-sided space after receiving a problem-based learning model. This study employs a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design, as there is no randomization of samples in both classes. The population consists of eighth-grade students at SMP Dharma Kartini, with the research sample being class VIII-A as the control group and class VIII-B as the experimental group, each consisting of 35 students. The instruments and learning tools used include pretest and posttest questions, as well as LKPD containing material on flat-sided space and the stages of the PBL model. The obtained data will be processed using statistical tests through a two-sample independent t-test, preceded by a normality test and followed by the Mann-Whitney test. The results of the study interpret that there is a difference in the achievement of students' mathematical representation abilities after the PBL model is applied to the flat-sided space material.
