Abstract

AbstractThis research is based on the problem of the low mathematical problem solving ability of students who have a relationship with someone's success in solving a problem that they face. In this case, to overcome this, a class of research was conducted using an open ended approach and ordinary learning. In addition, this research is a quasi-experimental. The population in this study were students of class X MA in Bandung in 2018/2019 academic year. The research sample is all Class X students in one MA in Bandung. Quantitative analysis was performed using the two-difference test and descriptive qualitative analysis was also carried out. The results showed that the ability to solve mathematical problems using the open ended approach was better than those using the usual approach.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Analisis data pada suatu proses produksi merupakan hal yang esensial untuk dilakukan. Data yang valid menjadikan data tersebut baik. Salah satu ciri data yang baik adalah terhindar dari pencilan (outliers). Untuk mendeteksi pencilan (outlier) yang terdapat pada suatu data diperlukan suatu metode, yang antara lain melalui metode ESD. Metode ESD dapat mendeteksi pencilan tunggal (single  outliers) ataupun pencilan ganda (multiple outliers). Konsep utama dari metode ini, adalah mengukur jarak setiap data terhadap mean sampelnya. Kata Kunci    :   Metode ESD, pencilan  ABSTRACTData analyse of a production process is an essential part. The accuracy of the data analyse depends on the validaty of the data. One indicator of valid data is evitable from outliers. It requires certain method to examine the outliers  from data to decide whether the data is valid or not. ESD method is the recommended method, which will be studied throughly in this final refort. ESD method is a method that is able to detect single outlier as well as multiple outliers. The main concept of the method is measuring the difference of each data to the mean of its sample. Keywords:        Outlier, ESD Method

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low problem-solving abilities, mathematical disposition, and learning motivation of junior students. This study aims to find and analyze the influence of mathematical dispositions empirically and learning motivation on problem-solving abilities. Samples were obtained in class VII-2 at SMPN 2 Cimahi as many as 34 students.  The study uses quantitative correlational methods. The analysis was done by a regression method. The data collection was given two pieces of study instruments, namely problem-solving test instruments and non-test questionnaires in a set of mathematical dispositions and learning motivation. The data were tested for regression and correlation. The results of data analysis that was a mathematical disposition and learning motivation were significantly influenced by the problem-solving ability of junior students, with the regression equation Y = 1.95 + 0.121X1 + 0.015X2 indicating a positive influence, and the degree of closeness is the Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.827 classified in a robust positive interpretation. Together, mathematical disposition variables and learning motivation variables can determine the problem-solving variable by 68.3%. Recommendations from this study, teachers should design learning processes that can improve mathematical disposition and student motivation so that students' problem-solving abilities increase.

Abstract

This study discusses the use of active and passive diathesis sentences contained in the short story. This study aims to provide an overview of the use of active-passive diathesis sentences in the short story text. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method with content analysis techniques of sentence variations. The object of this research uses the sentences contained in the book collection of short stories "Don't Sing in the Bathroom" by Seno Gumira Ajidarma. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the use of sentences with active diathesis is more often used, namely 76.4% compared to sentences with passive diathesis, which is 23.6%

Abstract

The research is conducted to observe if Mathematics teacher who use PMRI base consistently apply the characteristic especially to students of grade 4 primary. The  purpose of this research is to give contribution to all Mathematics teachers who apply PMRI. The data collection technique that use is observation method. Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research is conducted as a preliminary study that aims to determine the achievement and improvement of advanced mathematical thinking skills of students. In college, mathematics is generally more difficult and complex than ever. This is because the material given is more abstract. Therefore, mathematics and mathematics education students are expected to construct mathematical definitions/concepts independently, to prove logically, and to further develop their mathematical abilities. In fact, the learning process in the classroom does not improve the ability of mathematical thinking and even tends not to awaken the habits of the mind of the student, hence to overcome the problem, this research is studied a learning approach, the metacognitive skill approach. This research is an experimental research with research instrument that used is test of advanced mathematical thinking ability of student and student habits of mind scale. This research was conducted on final year students who contracted real analysis courses at STKIP Siliwangi Bandung. Based on the results of the research, it is known that the achievement and improvement of advanced mathematical thinking skills of students who gain learning with metacognitive skills approach is better than those who get regular learning. In general, students who gain learning with a metacognitive skills approach habits of mind better on ordinary learning..Keywords: Advanced Mathematical Thinking, Habits of Mind, Metacognitive Skill Approach.

Abstract

The ability to master concepts is one of the obstacles experiences by students in studying algebraic form. This is the background of the author to conduct this research with the aim of knowing the increase in students conceptual mastery if a contextual approach is applied to learning algebraic form in class VII Junior High School of Dharma Kartini Cimahi. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (CAS) with the methods use are survey, test, and observation methods, the analysis used is qualitative. The results of the stude are evidenced by the improvement in student learning outcomes from the condition of learning completeness that no one reaches the KKM value, increasing in the first cycle as many as 8 students (40%) and in the second cycle it has increased to 15 students (75%). It can be concluded that the application of the contectual approach is good enough to improve students mastery of concepts in algebraic form.

Abstract

This study aims to measure the achievement and improvement of problem solving abilities and mathematical connections of high school students in online learning using an advance organizer model. This study used a quasi-experimental approach, and data analysis used a two-way annova for knowing improvement of problem solving abilities and mathematical connections on low, medium, and high student level.. Research conducted at high school have the conclusion that there is a significant difference between students with the Advance Organier model and students who use regular learning seen from the high, medium and low level students.
