Abstract

Freight forwarding activities includes both export and import. The issue in this study is the lengthy process of document types of general cargo air export, resulting in the delay of release to customers. The research objective is to determine the core and cause of delay in releasing air export document, and the action of it. Research method used in this study is Logical Framework Approach (LFA) to analyze the factors that cause the delay with problem and objective tree by using a technique SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time bound). Results show an increase in number of shipments towards the end of the observed period (12 months) has been accompanied by an increase in the amount of delay in release air export document caused by the constraint in the work process and systems namely, yet integrated of development process of working with systems used, quality of human resources that not all meet the standards should be. The solutions may fit with existing problems is integrating the development process of working with the systems with supported by the quality of human resources for very competitive so as to expedite the process of release air export documents and increase company profit.

Abstract

PT Intan Utama Logistics is a company engaged in the field of freight forwarding that its main task, delivering goods using multiple modes of transportation available. As a freight forwarding service company PT. Intan Utama Logistik should be able to provide the best services to meet the needs of customers, one of which is in terms of timeliness of delivery of goods safely reach the destination because it can affect the level of customer satisfaction. But in fact in the process of delivery of goods are still common problems, such as delays in delivery caused by various factors, including wage service trips within the scope of delivery, a factor congestion on land and the diversion of traffic flows, frequent damage to the fleet operational, operational fleet is not in accordance with the needs and the goods component is lacking. This study aims to determine the factors that cause delays in shipping products to alfamart Arnotts Greater Jakarta and Banten area at PT Intan Utama Logistik Year 2015. To find out the root of the problem of delays in shipping products to alfamart Arnotts Greater Jakarta and Banten area and the solution at PT. Intan Utama Logistik Year 2015. To find out effective measures or solutions in addressing delays in shipping products to alfamart Arnotts Greater Jakarta and Banten area at PT. Intan Utama Logistik Year 2015. The data analysis techniques used by the author is a fishbone diagram or cause-effect diagram ,. the writer has the conclusions that can be drawn as follows: (1) Total shipments (shipment) the PT Intan Utama Logistik in 2015 amounted to 9280, goods were delivered (delivery) amounted to 7868 and the total of goods that experienced delays amounted to 1410 with the performance results achieved by 15:19%. (2) Analysis of the root cause of the problem is known 10 variables rated by the respondents there are four variables that have problems with the average - average percentage of problematic factor is> 43.66%. The four variables are problematic, namely Machines, Methods and Money. (3) Having found a major problem in this problem, there are several factors that cause delay that disbursement of funds should wait for the decision of GM, the number of operational fleet is used to handle distribution activities are limited, the whole process delivery of goods should use transport fleet and has become a liability to determine for courier service.

Abstract

A growing society needs a good transportation system that supports the ongoing activities of large business community. Road transport system is a universal and integral system without boundaries. Existence of people does depend on transportation. Different countries implement various transportation systems with different traits and characteristics. The study was conducted by looking at the network of transportation system. The researchers are comparing the transportation system in United States, United Kingdom and Indonesia. The fundamental difference is the orientation of the government. In terms of the provision of public transport services, the Indonesian government is still in the primary stage oriented to provide public transportation for people to arrive at the destination, while other countries have been at the secondary stage of comfort-oriented and safety-concern. They have even been to the tertiary stage that is the luxury-attention.

Abstract

The competition of transportation services has become tight due to the development of transportation technology. Therefore, travel business competition as partner of the transportion services could also be recognized by the increasing number of similar companies that offer travel services such as ticket sales selling services by giving competitive price and using online services. The research is using Case Study. The aim is to provide an overview of the background, characteristics and distinctive character of the cases. The type of approach and the researcher for one case conducts an intensive, in-depth, detailed and comprehensive analysis (Sugiono: 2008, 98). It was clear that the price, quality of service, and customer satisfaction go hand in hand. In other words, the higher the price and the quality of services will simultaneously increase the customer satisfaction.
