Abstract

Abstract The human digestive system is one of the materials taught to junior high school students. This research purpose was to determine the gender-based contextual (CTL) effect on biology students cognitive learning outcomes. This research used quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design. Data analysis used descriptive statistical and inferential statistics. The analysis results show that there was significant effect of using the CTL learning model on students' cognitive learning outcomes on the human digestive system material with sig value was 0.000 more than 0.05. Regarding gender, there is no significant effect on cognitive learning outcomes on the human digestive system material with sig value was 0.764 more than 0.05. There is no significant effect of the interaction of learning models and gender on cognitive learning outcomes on the human digestive system material with sig value was 0.960 more than 0.05. Thus, the CTL learning model can improve the cognitive learning outcomes students who have gender characteristics.   Keywords human digestive system, contextual teaching and learning, cognitive learning outcomes, gender.    Abstrak Sistem pencernaan manusia merupakan salah satu materi yang diajarkan kepada siswa SMP. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) berbasis gender terhadap hasil belajar kognitif siswa biologi. Penelitian ini menggunakan eksperimen semu dengan desain pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design. Analisis data menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif dan statistik inferensial. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan penggunaan model pembelajaran CTL terhadap hasil belajar kognitif siswa pada materi sistem pencernaan manusia dengan nilai sig. 0,000 kurang dari 0,05. Terkait jenis kelamin, tidak terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap hasil belajar kognitif pada materi sistem pencernaan manusia dengan nilai sig 0,764 lebih dari 0,05. Tidak terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan interaksi model pembelajaran dan gender terhadap hasil belajar kognitif pada materi sistem pencernaan manusia dengan nilai sig 0,960 lebih dari 0,05 Dengan demikian, model pembelajaran CTL dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa yang memiliki karakteristik gender.   Kata kunci sistem pencernaan manusia, pengajaran dan pembelajaran kontekstual, hasil belajar kognitif, gender.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v23i4.pp1548-1560

Abstract

This research is motivated by the absence of previous research that examines the use of spice plants as care cosmetics by the people of Belonsat Village. This result can make vanished of knowledge about the efficacy of spice plants as care cosmetics, so it is necessary to have a instrument used to document in writing about spice plants used as care cosmetics by the people of Belonsat Village. This study aims to 1) identify the types of spice plants that are used as care cosmetics, 2) identify parts of spice plants that are used as care cosmetics, 3) identify how to use them as care cosmetics. The research uses a qualitative descriptive approach, the research method used is a survey. The source of the data from this research was obtained from the main informant who also served as a key informant. Data obtained through in-depth interviews and participatory observation. The results of an interview with a key informant as well as a key informant showed that there were 11 species of spice plants that have the potential as care cosmetics. These spice plants include: basil, cardamom, kencur, temu giring, ginger emprit (ginger rice), elephant ginger, red ginger, temulawak, lime, orange chili sauce, and garlic. There are uses that are singular, there are also those that must be combined.

Abstract

Abstract: Biology is a material that requires an understanding of students' learning outcomes. This research aims to determine the effect of the JiRQA learning model on the learning outcomes of class VIII students at Yoseph Khatulistiwa Middle School and Nusantara Indah Sintang Middle School. This research was a quantitative approach with a weak experiment design method. The population was all class VIII students at Yoseph Khatulistiwa Middle School and Nusantara Indah Sintang Middle School, consisting was 29 students, 16 students at Yoseph Khatulistiwa Middle School and 13 students at Nusantara Indah Sintang Middle School. The instrument to measure students' learning outcomes is in the form was 20 multiple choice questions. The data obtained was analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis and inferential analysis in the form of a paired sample t test. The results of descriptive statistical analysis showed an increase in the average pretest and posttest scores was 38.62%. The results of inferential statistical analysis show that the significance value for learning outcomes was 0.000 and is greater than alpha 0.05, so it can be concluded that there is a significant influence of the implementation of the JiRQA learning model on students' learning outcomes in Biology material.         Keywords: JIRQA learning model, learning outcomes, biology learning.   Abstrak: Biologi merupakan materi yang memerlukan pemahaman terhadap prestasi belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran JiRQA terhadap prestasi belajar siswa kelas VIII di SMP Yoseph Khatulistiwa dan SMP Nusantara Indah Sintang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode weak eksperimen. Populasi adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Yoseph Khatulistiwa dan SMP Nusantara Indah Sintang yang terdiri dari 29 siswa, 16 siswa SMP Yoseph Khatulistiwa dan 13 siswa di SMP Nusantara Indah Sintang. Instrumen untuk mengukur prestasi belajar siswa berupa 20 soal pilihan ganda. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif dan analisis inferensial berupa Paired sample t test.. Hasil analisis statistik deskriptif menunjukkan adanya peningkatan rata-rata skor pretest dan posttest sebesar 38,62%. Hasil analisis statistik inferensial menunjukkan nilai signifikansi prestasi sebesar 0,000 lebih besar dari alpha 0,05 sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan penerapan model pembelajaran JiRQA terhadap prestasi belajar siswa pada materi Biologi.   Kata kunci: model pembelajaran JIRQA, prestasi belajar, pembelajaran biologi.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v24i3.pp690-698
