Abstract

Existing Human Physiology Anatomy teaching materials tend to have a gap between the content of teaching materials and students, and there is no link to the verses of the Qur'an and the values of Asma al Husna. This study aims to develop didactic and contemplative-based teaching materials for human anatomy and physiology. Research development (R & D) used the ADDIE model. The participants in this study were three experts and 58 sixth semester biology students, majoring in biology department, Tarbiyah and Teachers Training Faculty, IAIN Batusangkar. The research instruments were observation sheets, interview sheets and validation questionnaires. The mean and standard deviation were calculated to determine the validity. Didactic and contemplative teaching materials in the Human Physiology Anatomy course were developed to fulfill all aspects of a development research, according to the characteristics of a teaching material, having didactic and contemplative characteristics. The didactic and contemplative teaching materials developed contain didactic aspects in the form of various activities, according to student learning styles, there is contemplation practice, contains Asma al Husna and contains verses of the Qur'an. The didactic and contemplative teaching materials developed have validity with very valid criteria (3.45±0.43). Thus, these teaching materials are suitable for use in classroom learning, fill the gap between the content of teaching materials and students, stop the separation between "knowledge" and "student-self" and deserve to be used as a reference in developing teaching materials that integrate science and religion

Abstract

Chemistry and biology are interrelated branches of science, but students majoring in Chemistry Education are often considered as less ability to understand several biological concepts. The aim of this study was to obtain the information about the response of Chemistry Education students on General Biology course. The research was a descriptive study conducted in August to December 2017 in which the subjects were twenty-four first-semester students of Chemistry Education who take General Biology course at Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teaching Sciences, State Islamic Institute Batusangkar, West Sumatera. The instrument used was the questionnaire of student responses on General Biology course. The analysis used was descriptive statistical analysis by using percentage.  The best response of students on General Biology course is on assessment transparency aspect, while the lowest response is on lecture attractiveness aspect. The conclusion, the response of Chemistry Education student who has taken General Biology course in State Islamic Institute Batusangkar on the criteria good. Although from Chemistry Education Program, most students give positive responses to General Biology course. Information obtained from this study can be used as a basis for improving the quality of General Biology course, especially in Chemistry Education Program.

Abstract

Learning models that develop students' argumentation and critical thinking skills are widely applied in senior high school. The purpose of this study was to verify the correlation between argumentation skills and scientific literacy skills of high school students on cell matter as the smallest structural and functional unit of life and cell bioprocesses. This research uses a correlational method. The sample of this research was the students of class XI MIPA SMAN 1 Batusangkar, numbering 34 people. Data on argumentation skill and scientific literacy skill were obtained from the test results in the form of an essay test using socio-scientific issues. Descriptive statistics, Pearson product moment correlation analysis techniques, and path analysis were used for data analysis. The results showed that there was a significant and positive relationship between argumentation skills and scientific literacy skills. In addition, argumentation skills have a statistically positive predictive effect on scientific literacy skills. It was revealed that argumentation skills acted as a partial mediating variable, so as stated in the theory, argumentation skills and scientific literacy skills were found to be very closely related. Thus, students' argumentation skills can be used to predict students' scientific literacy skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini didasari karena banyak siswa yang memiliki self efficacy yang rendah dalam pembelajaran biologi dikarenakan siswa masih kurang peduli terhadap tujuan dalam mengikuti pembelajaran biologi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui korelasi antara self efficacy dengan hasil pembelajaran biologi pada kelas XI SMA 1 Rambatan. Metode yang digunakan ialah metode deskriptif  kuantitatif dengan pendekatan korelasional. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan mengunakan  instrument angket dan nilai hasil belajar siswa. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah uji korelasi product moment dan uji signikafikansi dengan uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara self efficay dengan hasil pembelajaran biologi, pada kriteria sedang. Namun demikian hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan self efficacy siswa bukanlah satu-satunya faktor untuk meningkatkan hasil pembelajaran biologi siswa, tetapi masih banyak lagi faktor yang mampu mempengaruhinya.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar IPA siswa kelas V SDN 21 Sawah Tangah serta aktivitas belajar yang membosankan akibat kurang maksimalnya penyajian pembelajaran IPA di kelas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar IPA. Metodologi penelitian tindakan kelas digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V SDN 21 Sawah Tangah yang berjumlah 13 orang. Instrumen pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan dua betuk, yakni tes dan non tes. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik persentase untuk kedua data yang diperoleh, baik secara tes maupun non tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar IPA Siswa SDN 21 Sawah Tangah mengalami peningkatan pada Siklus 1, dengan ketuntasan siswa sebanyak 9 orang dengan persentase 69,23%, sedangkan pada siklus 2 hasil belajar kembali meningkat dengan perolehan persentase kelas sebesar 11 orang dengan persentase 84,62%. Peningkatan lainnya juga terlihat pada aktivitas siswa, baik pada siklus 1 maupun pada siklus 2. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe CRH dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar IPA siswa kelas V SDN 21 Sawah Tangah.

Abstract

This research background was the limitation of online learning resource and lack of e-module in learning process especially in using socioscientific issues approach. Moreover, the teaching material was less attractive and comprehensive that causes lack of students learning interest. This study aimed to produce e-module based on socioscientific issues in environmental change topic for senior high school students grade X. The research was conducted in SMAN 1 Padang Ganting in even semester 2021-2022. 4D (define, design, development and diseminate) model used to develop the e-module. This research result was the e-module produced have 83% in validity and categorized as very valid, 88% in practicality based on teacher’s questionnaire and 84% based on student’s questionnaire which categorized very practical. This suggets that e-module developed meet all aspects of a research development and in accordance with the characteristics of a teaching materials. It can be concluded that the socioscientific issues-based e-module developed was valid and practice for biology learning in senior high school.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran kooperatif Small Group Discussion (SGD) dengan talking stick berbantuan handout terhadap hasil belajar Biologi  siswa kelas VIII di SMPN 5 Padang Panjang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode eksperimen semu dengan rancangan penelitian randomized control group posttest-only design. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik random sampling, dan sampel yang terpilih adalah kelas VIII 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII 2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data kuantitatif didapatkan hasil belajar Biologi siswa kelas VIII SMPN 5 Padang Panjang dengan menerapkan pembelajaran kooperatif  Small Group Discussion (SGD) dengan talking stick  berbantuan  handout terhadap hasil belajar Biologi siswa Kelas VIII di SMPN 5 Padang Panjang lebih baik dari hasil belajar Biologi siswa yang menggunakan diskusi face to face relationship berbantuan handout. Pembelajaran kooperatif  Small Group Discussion (SGD) dengan talking stick berbantuan  handout terhadap hasil belajar biologi siswa Kelas VIII di SMPN 5 Padang Panjang dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar biologi siswa.
