Abstract

This study aims to find out the elements of the interpersonal function used in Muniba Mazari's speech and to find out the most dominant elements of interpersonal function. The source of data takes from a video of Muniba Mazari's speech that was examined by the researcher. The data of this research are clauses that have an element of interpersonal function spoken by Muniba Mazari’s speech. The instrument of data collection used is documentation in the form of video recording, and for technique of data collection is documentation method. To analyze the data involves four steps namely: data collection, data condensation, data display, and the last conclusion drawing. Based on the result findings of this research, the frequency of the subject 231 (25,41%), finite 173 (19,03%), while residue elements predicator 204 (22,44%), complement 189 (20,79%), circumtantial adjunct 40 (4,40%), conjunctive adjunct 32 (3,53%), comment adjunct 25 (2,75%), and the last mood adjunct 15 (1,65%). The result showed the most dominant element interpersonal function structure used in Muniba Mazari’s speech is subject with the total percentage is 25,41%. Based on the results it can be concluded that this research can be used as insight and useful as a model to discuss interpersonal functions in a speech. And the researcher hopes that readers can increase their knowledge when conducted analyzing interpersonal functions in a speech because it is very important to know the meaning of each clause conveyed.

Abstract

The research looked at how people in the Education community responded to the hoax phenomenon from the point of view of technology and information. This research aims to improve the educational component's ability to analyse different kinds of information or news. This will make it less likely that fake information will be used as a talking point or a guide. The method used is qualitative with critical discourse analysis, where the program's implementation is through the ASSURE method. The number of respondents is 60 consisting of teachers, parents and students in the sixth grade of an elementary school in  Medan city. The technique used by researchers to gather data involves grouping various data, processing it in accordance with the aim to be recorded, and then deconstructing it using an essential conversation investigation preparation software created using the ASSURE approach. The technique of analyzing data was by implementing the six stages in the ASSURE model, which represent three other stages: pre-program, program implementation and post-program. The results show that critical discourse analysis through the basic conversation investigation program using the ASSURE method has proven to be effective and can be used to prevent the spread of hoax information that can cause various disputes.

Abstract

The study below examines the development of students' critical and creative thinking abilities through the use of article reviews and the Problem Based Learning instructional approach. This study is qualitative and was conducted utilizing library research, specifically library research that used data grouping methods. It was then completed by examining and studying numerous pertinent research publications and papers. utilizing analytical methods for gathering, combining, and recognizing secondary data from numerous pertinent investigations. The adoption of the Problem Based Learning learning paradigm itself can boost students' capacity for creative thought, according to the study's findings. The findings of research done using library resources revealed that students' capacities for creative thought had improved, with outcomes moving into the medium category. In this study, four factors—fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration—were also linked to an improvement in students' capacity for creative thought. It follows that the application of the learning paradigm that Problem Based Learning is capable of improving students' creative thinking skills.
