Abstract

The Limau Sundai plant (Citrus Nobilis Lour) is widely known in West Sumatra. The fruit of this plant is commonly consumed as a cooking spice. This antioxidant activity test research aims to find out the potential of Lime Sundai peel as a source of antioxidant compounds. The peel of Limau Sundai fruit is ensnared with methanol solvent and concentrated using a rotary evaporator to obtain a coarse extract. The crude extract is then partitioned successively in n-hexane and ethyl acetate so that n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and methanol extracts are obtained. Sundai lime peel has good antioxidant activity against DPPH, which is shown in the ethyl fraction of acetate, methanol, and liquid methanol. The antioxidant activity of the three fractions is smaller than vitamin C and more significant than the hexane fraction. In the ethyl acetate, methanol and methanol/aqueous fractions with concentrations of 1076, 1822, and 1372 ppm in a row can reduce 50% of DPPH radical activity.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the optimum condition of hydrogen gas produced through the electrolysis process of dry cell generators using RSM progran. To produce hydrogen gas is done through the method of water electrolysis by decomposing the molecule H2O into hydrogen gas and oxygen gas with the help of direct electric current. Hydrogen gas productivity by electrolysis method applied to DC generators using 4/4 plate electodes (Cu/Al) as cathodes and NaNO3 solutions as electrolytes. The current and voltage used in this electrolysis process is 0.6 ampere and 2 volts for 1 hour. The concentration of hydrogen gas produced is determined using the MQ-8 sensor. The optimum condition of hydrogen gas concentration obtained is at NaNO 31 M concentration and 60 minutes with hydrogen concentration produced as much as 143.393 ppm. The verification result value for hydrogen gas concentration is 144 ppm, so the program's recommended solution is good enough.

Abstract

Echinacea purpurea is a flower that is rich in its main antioxidant content comes from flavonoids, phenols, and cystic acids can be utilized as an immunomodulator during the Covid-19 pandemic. Ekinase flowers are processed into new innovations in nutraceutical products with the Ekino Ice product label. Goal to innovate nutraceutical products made from dry flower Echinacea purpurea as immunomodulators in the era of the Covid-19 pandemic. This research uses laboratory experimental methods with a qualitative approach. Microscopic test results are known that the sample has a plant characteristic of Echinacea purpurea. KLT test results using UV 366 light is positive flavonoid blue color Rf 0.5 nm with ammonia stain appearance, positive phenol stain blue-black color Rf 0.75 nm with FeCl3 stain appearance, positive cystic acid stain blue color Rf 0.75 nm. Brown organoleptic test results, characteristic smell of Echinacea purpurea, and taste sweet. pH test result 6.42 and melting time test result 16.22 minutes. Ekino Ice has the potential to be a new innovation nutraceutical product as immunomodulators in the era of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

This study presents an investigation into the optimal concentration of binahong (Anredera cordifolia) extract for enhancing the growth, yield, and mitigating leaf blight in shallots. Conducted within a controlled environment at a well-established laboratory, the experiment employed a completely randomized design (CRD) to evaluate the effects of five different concentrations of binahong leaf extract. Data analysis included variance tests, and when significant effects were identified, Duncan's multiple range test (DMRT) was employed to further examine the results. The findings demonstrate that a 30% concentration of binahong (Anredera cordifolia) extract significantly improves growth, yield, and effectively suppresses the development of Red onion(Allium ascalonicum L.)  leaf blight. Moreover, this concentration resulted in a wet tuber weight per hill of 76.30 g. These insights contribute to the development of sustainable agricultural practices and offer a promising alternative to chemical-based treatments for managing crop diseases, thereby advancing our understanding of the potential applications of binahong (Anredera cordifolia) extract in agricultural settings.

Abstract

The objective of this experiment was to investigate the interaction between the application of banana stem compost and tofu industry liquid waste on the growth and yield of Bird's Eye Chili (Capsicum frutescens L.). The experiment followed a factorial completely randomized design (CRD) with two factors: the first factor being the application of banana stem compost with four levels: 0 g/polybag, 100 g/polybag, 200 g/polybag, and 300 g/polybag; the second factor being the dosage of tofu industry liquid waste with three levels: 0 ml/L water, 50 ml/L water, and 100 ml/L water. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that the application of 300 g/polybag of banana stem compost and 100 ml/L of tofu industry liquid waste resulted in increased fruit weight in Bird's Eye Chili, with a yield of 107.87 g.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the combined impact of Chitosan and Tithonia (Tithonia diversifolia) Compost on the Growth and Yield of Peanut Plants (Arachis hypogaea L.). A factorial randomized block design (RBD) was utilized for the experiment. The first factor was Tithonia compost in quantities of 0 tons/ha-1, 5 tons/ha-1, and 10 tons/ha-1. The second factor was Chitosan, applied at three dosage levels: 0 ml/l water, 3 ml/l water, and 6 ml/l water. The results suggest that the use of Tithonia compost effectively enhances plant height, flowering age, harvest age, 100-seed weight, and dry pod weight per hill when applied at a dose of 10 tons/ha. Furthermore, Chitosan administration was found to increase the number of effective root nodules when used at a concentration of 6 ml/l water. The interaction between Tithonia compost and Chitosan also resulted in an extended flowering life and an increase in dry pod weight per hill of peanut plant. Based on these findings, we recommend using 10 tons/ha of Tithonia compost and 3 ml/l water of Chitosan in peanut cultivation for optimal results.
