Abstract

The more days of tolerance, the sense of solidarity and the rise of hate speech on social media, as well as the decline in national values, the fading of the national spirit is a serious concern, especially for educators. Indonesia is experiencing various challenges or threats. the best for the country is just a slogan. Society seems to have lost its direction (disorientation) in the life of the nation and state, due to the dim implementation of basic values. The basic value that becomes a reference or guideline is considered as something ancient. There are even organizations that oppose the existence of these basic values. It is unfortunate that the younger generation is also swept away, as if they have forgotten history. The growing trend in society prefers pragmatic and practical values which in reality are not in accordance with the soul and personality of the Indonesian nation. This study aims to examine and explore and provide an overview of character education which includes civic education courses, Pancasila education and character development courses for students at Maranatha Christian University. The implementation of these values was carried out by observing, interviewing, as well as questionnaires which were distributed to students. Interviews were also conducted with the civic education lecturer team, the Pancasila lecturer team, the character development lecturer team and educational institutions. The emphasis in this research underscores how advances in technology and information in the digital era can be implemented from personality development courses. Personality development is one of the targets of civics and Pancasila education courses and character development courses. Conventional learning that has been entrenched so far must be replaced with digital learning. It takes effort and creativity from lecturers so that the meaning and message of the values of civic education and Pancasila values can be accepted and carried out in life by students. The method or approach used in this research is descriptive qualitative through in-depth observation, even though it is constrained by a pandemic, it can be combined by conducting interviews both structured and open interviews, literature studies and documentation. The techniques used to examine the research are data collection, data reduction, data display and conclusions. For the output of the research team, it is planned to be published in an accredited journal.

Abstract

Universitas Kristen Maranatha is a private university in Bandung with a work program based on the ICE principles of integrity, care, and excellence in the disciplines of teaching, research, and community service, with one of them focusing on social problems. So far, lecturers from various study programs have collaborated with partners from the Yayasan Indonesia Ramah Lansia in West Java Province to develop materials relevant to ecoprint training for the elderly. The goal of this exercise is to provide the elderly an understanding of the ecoprint process as an art therapy tool for improving cognitive function. Art plays a significant role in this activity since it is a sort of creative activity that keeps the elderly engaged and productive in their latter years. The exercise took place in the Seroja Elderly School in Cinambo, Bandung. It is believed that by participating in this activity, the elderly would be able to put the insights and ecoprint techniques they have learned to use to train their cognitive skills to stay in excellent shape.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the trend of snacks with a salty or sweet taste which have become part of people's lifestyles, especially among teenagers and young adults. Snacks portion that exceeds the serving size has an unfavorable impact on the body's calorie intake. This study aims to analyze the effect of the size of the snack packaging portion in the form of one serving (individual pack) and family portion (family pack), on the eating patterns of teens and young adults. The population in this study were active students from several universities in Bandung, Indonesia. Data collection was done by distributing questionnaires to respondents. The study was conducted using descriptive statistical calculations and inferential statistics, namely the comparison between respondents' preferences for the choice of snack packaging that is packaged according to the serving sizes and packaged in larger sizes. Teenagers and young adults choose snacks with larger packages, both from the salty and sweet snack groups. Larger packaging sizes dominate purchasing decisions. They consume more snacks if served in larger packages. Consumers prefer large packaging which is more economical because small packaging does not have a visible added value. Individual packaging is only effective when carried or when you want to eat less snack. Based on the conclusions, further research that focuses on increasing the value of single-serving packages, how to pack family-sized snacks (family packs) to increase awareness of snack portions, or how other efforts can be made to change the behavior of eating excess snack portions can be further explored.
