Abstract

Tofu liquid waste that contains high levels of COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand), BOD (Biological Oxygen Demand), and TSS (Total Suspended Solid) is usually discharged directly into the waters, causing a foul odor in community drainage and contaminating rivers. This study aims to determine the potential of Chlorella sp as a bioremediation agent in tofu wastewater. This type of research is research that uses the literature review method. The stages of literature collection used in this study refer to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) guidelines. This stage consists of four procedures, namely, identification, screening, eligibility, and acceptance. This study shows that the microalgae Chlorella sp. can increase population growth and lipid levels, Chlorella sp. Can reduce COD and Nitrate levels contained in tofu liquid waste, and increase the pH from acidic to neutral. Based on the results of the study found, it can be concluded that Chlorella sp has the potential as a bioremediation agent in tofu liquid waste.

Abstract

The disaster that occurred in the Mentawai Islands district has become a cultural shaping factor. Thus, this forms local wisdom to survive and adapt to natural disasters that often occur. This study aims to determine the role of local wisdom in the Mentawai people in disaster mitigation efforts. This type of research is research that uses a systematic review method (Systematic Review). The stages of literature collection refer to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) guidelines. This study shows that there are several local pearls of wisdom in the form of disaster mitigation that are owned by the Mentawai people, including the arat sabulungan belief that teaches humans to treat nature, plants, water, and animals like him. In addition, there is an Umma (Mentawai Tribe Community House) which was built in a collaborative manner made from natural materials obtained from the forest with the building construction being strong and flexible enough so that it can withstand earthquake shocks. Apart from that, there is the Mentawai Folklore (Sitakkigagailau and Pagetasabbau) which is a picture of their cosmology towards the harmony of life with the natural, social and cultural environment. Based on the results of the study found, it can be concluded that the local wisdom of the Mentawai people plays an important role in mitigating disasters that occur in the Mentawai archipelago district.

Abstract

Oil palm plantations are currently experiencing quite rapid growth; this has resulted in a large number of oil palm fruit processing industriespalm oil (crude palm oil) and palm kernel (palm kernel). The more oil palm fruit that is processed, the more liquid waste it produces. Liquid waste generated during the production process can harm the environment because of the high organic matter contained therein. The purpose of this study was to analyze the management of palm oil industrial wastewater at PT Citra Putra Kebun Asri. The method used in this study is an exploratory method and the collection and testing of data is done by graph sampling. The results of the analysis contained in the palm oil industrial wastewater, namely the pH content ranges from 4-8.5. The content of BOD and COD in the first pool had quite high levels, this was due to (human error) during testing, factory measuring instruments that had not been calibrated and inaccurate sampling by factory staff. While the BOD and COD in the application pond have values that are in accordance with the liquid waste quality standards with BOD values below 100 mh/L and COD values below 250 mg/L
