Abstract

A significant increase in the number of people around the world causes an increase in the amount of waste production causing a fairly high spike. This increase is caused by the increasing needs that humans need every day, with so many needs, a lot of waste is produced, especially plastic waste that is used as a container or wrapping material for various other goods. This makes the environment polluted by plastic waste. Various efforts have been made by the world and the government in reducing waste, one of which is PT. Indonesia Free of Waste, namely sorting waste and then selling it to those who recycle waste. The existence of a decision support system (DSS) will help PT. Indonesia Free of Waste selects the best waste to buy then sorts and recycles. By using the SMART (Simple Multi-Attribute Rating Technique) method, the best waste can be purchased in a flexible and simple manner so that it can fulfill the integrity of decision making and rapid analytical response. Alternatives taken as research references include used cooking oil, plastic, used drinking bottles, and some other household waste that can be recycled. Of the 25 alternatives used, the results obtained from used cooking oil with the highest rank of 0.85. This study makes a decision using the SMART method to find out what waste can be purchased by providing more profit, namely used cooking oil with a value of 0.85.
