Abstract

This study focused on the characteristics of the development of teaching materials, teachers and students in mathematics learning  based on Banten's culture. The Methods which is used in this research are  didactical  Design Research and experimental study, the subject of the study is a second grade of primary school student in the city of Serang  where this research  was taking place in academic year 2015/2016. The study stated that: Characteristics of teachers in mathematics learning  based on Banten’s culture, the teachers have the ability  of meta pedagogical skill in preparing the learning process  which is divided into three stages: before, during and after learning. Meanwhile, before learning the subject, The  Students  have to learn more about Banten’s culture, Also They discussed and solved the problems using it. On the last stage,  the students reflected  their knowledge and  shared their impressions after learning.Keywords: mathematical instruction, Banten Culture, Didactical Design Research.

Abstract

Geometri adalah cabang matematika yang diajarkan dengan tujuan agar siswa dapat memahami sifat-sifat dan hubungan antar unsur geometri serta dapat mendorong siswa untuk dapat berpikir secara kritis dan memecahkan masalah dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesulitan siswa kelas 4 SD Negeri Asmi 033 Kota Bandung dalam menjawab soal geometri. Penelitian ini menggunakan studi eksploratif dalam bentuk tes uraian tertulis pada materi geometri yang diberikan kepada 26 siswa SD Negeri Asmi 033 Kota Bandung. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat kesulitan yang dihadapi siswa dalam menjawab soal geometri, kesulitan tersebut diantaranya adalah (1) siswa  kesulitan dalam penggunaan konsep, (2) siswa kesulitan dalam penggunaan prinsip, dan (3) siswa kesulitan dalam menyelesaikan masalah-masalah verbal. Hasil penelitian ini dapat dijadikan bahan pengembangan permasalahan geometri, khususnya pada materi keliling dan luas bangun datar di masa yang akan datang.Geometry is a branch of mathematics taught with the aim that students can understand the properties and relationships between elements of geometry and can encourage students to be able to think critically and solve problems in everyday life. This study aims to analyze the difficulties of fourth grade students of SD Negeri Asmi 033 Bandung City in answering geometry question. This study used an exploratory study in the form of a written description test on the geometry material given to 26 students of SD Negeri Asmi 033 Bandung City. The results of the analysis show that there were difficulties faced by students in answering geometry questions, such difficulties were (1) students difficulty in using concepts, (2) students difficulty in using principles, and (3) students difficuly in solving verbal problems. The result of this study can be used as material for the development of geometry problems, especially in the  material of circumference and area of  plane (geometry) in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a learning media product that contains the local wisdom of the Baduy tribe. The method used in this research is an ethnographic study to collect data about the Baduy tribe buildings that contain geometric elements. After the data was collected, the researcher used the instructional design research method in the form of the ADDIE model with the aim of making learning media by integrating the local wisdom of the Baduy Tribe in learning geometry based on previous ethnographic studies. The subjects in this study were the Baduy people, teachers, and grade 4 students of one of the elementary schools in Serang City. The results of this study indicate that learning geometry by integrating the local wisdom of the Baduy tribe is very effective in the learning process, so that the learning media product in the form of geomatics cards that are made is ready to be used and implemented in the concept of the plane figure in elementary schools. This research is expected to contribute to education, especially in creating effective learning by integrating culture in mathematics learning in elementary schools.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan sebuah produk media pembelajaran yang memuat kearifan lokal suku Baduy. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah studi etnografi untuk mengumpulkan data-data tentang bangunan suku Baduy yang memuat unsur geometri. Setelah data terkumpul, peneliti menggunakan metode instructional design research berupa model ADDIE dengan tujuan untuk membuat media pembelajaran dengan mengintegrasikan kearifan local Suku Baduy pada pembelajaran geometri berdasarkan kajian etnografi sebelumnya. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah masyarakat Suku Baduy, guru dan siswa kelas 4 salah satu sekolah dasar di Kota Serang. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran geometri dengan mengintegrasikan kearifan local Suku Baduy sangat efektif diterapkan dalam proses pembelajaran, sehingga produk media pembelajaran berupa kartu geomatika yang dibuat telah siap digunakan dan diimplementasikan pada  konsep bangun datar di sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi dalam dunia pendidikan khususnya dalam menciptakan pembelajaran yang efektif dengan mengintegrasikan budaya pada pembelajaran matematika di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

In the education world nowadays, it’s still common to find low results of student learning, including geometry in mathematics. Based on the observations of previous researchers, there was a didactic design error in the teacher, seen when the teacher explained the geometry material in class. This is causing the students' ability to understand geometric concepts is relatively low. Moreover, students are not familiar with the surrounding culture, including the traditional houses in their environment. The research focused on the research with third-grade students at SDN Kesugihan, with data collection using the DDR method which uses 3 stages of analysis, namely prospective analysis, metapedadidactic analysis, and retrospective analysis. Data collection begins with giving an initial learning obstacle test with 12 students as the subject. The initial didactic design designed by the researcher was compiled based on the results of the analysis of students’ books, observations, and interviews with teachers and interviews with students. The implementation of the initial didactic design was carried out with the subject of 6 students. The researcher also gave a final learning obstacle test after implementing the initial didactic design. The results obtained in this study are the reduction in the level of students learning obstacles related to conceptual errors, principle errors, and operating errors. It can be concluded that the design that has been developed by the researcher based on the analysis of the Lampung traditional house can be used by third-grade elementary school students

Abstract

In practice, learning media use is still rarely used, and the integration of culture in the mathematics teaching media for two-dimensional figure materials is still minimal. It is the basis for researchers to develop learning media for snakes and ladders based on Baduy culture, integrated with two-dimensional figure materials. This study aims to create learning media based on the local wisdom of Baduy that can attract students' motivation in learning mathematics with the two-dimensional figure. The research subjects are grade IV students. The method used is ethnography. Ethnographic methods are used to collect information related to Baduy culture. Data collection techniques used interviews, observations, and documentation studies. Then, after all the data were collected, the researcher used the ADDIE model to develop learning media. The steps taken are. In the analysis stage, the researcher performs task analysis, identifies problems, and analyses needs. The researcher designed the learning media framework and materials based on research and data on local wisdom of Baduy culture in the design phase. In the development phase, researchers developed a media framework and teaching materials and then validated them. The implementation stage conducted a trial of media and teaching materials with 13 students as the subject at SDN Gelam 2. The evaluation stage made product improvements based on the results of the trial of teaching materials. From this stage of development, the researcher concluded that the media and teaching materials that were made could attract students' learning motivation and could be used in learning two-dimensional figure materials for grade IV elementary school. The results of this study are the Learning Implementation Plan (RPP), Student Worksheets, Baduy Snakes and Ladders Learning Media, and learning evaluation questions

Abstract

This research focuses on designing a digital snake and ladder game that is integrated with Baduy culture on flat-shaped materials. This study uses two methods consisting of an ethnographic method used to obtain information about Baduy culture and the next method for designing digital learning media using the ADDIE model stage consisting of analysis, design, development, product testing, and evaluation activities. The research subjects used were 31 fourth-grade students of SDN Pasar Baru 1 Tangerang City. Data collection techniques used interviews, observations, questionnaires, and documentation studies. The results of the study based on the validation of media and material experts stated that the culture-based digital snake ladder game learning media was feasible to be used as a learning medium for fourth-grade students on flat-shaped materials. Student responses to culture-based digital snake and ladder game media make students interested in learning mathematics and culture. It can be concluded that the digital snake and ladder game media can be used as a distance learning solution so that students are not bored in learning mathematics. The culture-based digital snake and ladder game is a new alternative media that is fun, attracts students to learn mathematics as well as culturally, interactively, and innovatively.
