Abstract

Penurunan kognitif pada lansia dapat mempengaruhi kesehatan serta kualitas hidup. Penurunan kognitif salah satunya bisa dipengaruhi karena asupan yang tidak sesuai dengan kebutuhan. Konsumsi buah sayur yang tidak sesuai dengan anjuran merupakan hal yang dapat memicu terjadinya penurunan kognitif. Riskesdas 2018 menyatakan sebanyak 95,5% penduduk Indonesia kurang dalam mengonsumsi buah sayur. Tujuan studi ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara konsumsi buah sayur terhadap kognitif pada lansia. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah systematic literature review, dengan metode PICO (Population, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome) dengan kata kunci buah sayur, kognitif, lansia. Jurnal sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 5 jurnal. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa lansia yang menonsumsi buah sayur sesuai dengan rekomendasi yang dianjurkan memiliki kemampuan kognitif yang lebih baik disbanding dengan lansia yang kurang dalam konsumsi buah sayur.

Abstract

Ubi Jalar ungu (Ipomoea batatas L. Poir) dikenal sebagai pangan yang tinggi antioksidan, serat, vitamin dan mineral. Review ini menjelaskan hasil penelitian terbaru tentang efek ubi jalar ungu terhadap Diabetes Mellitus Tipe 2 (DMT2). Penelitian ini menggunakan desain studi literatur dari Google Schoolar, Science Direct dan PubMed. Pencarian artikel dilakukan dengan kata kunci “purple sweet potato, antosianin, diabetes mellitus type 2”. Selanjutnya artikel yang dipublikasikan pada tahun 2013-2023 dipilih untuk selanjutnya direview. Terbukti bahwa ubi jalar ungu dapat memberikan efek yang baik pada DMT2. Ubi jalar ungu membantu menurunkan kadar gula darah dan biomarker DMT2 lainnya secara in vivo dan in vitro

Abstract

Psidium guava is known as a fruit that contains many bioactive compounds such as polyphenols, flavonoids, and heteropolysaccharides. This review presents the results of the latest research on the effect of guava fruit on type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is proven that guava fruit can act as an antihyperglycemic therapy through mechanisms that include repairing pancreatic cells, increasing insulin sensitivity, inhibiting α-glucosidase, and inhibiting SGLT1 and GLUT2 transporters. These results prove the potential of guava fruit as a functional food for glycemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Abstract

Stunting is a condition where a child's height is not appropriate for their age. In 2022, an estimated 21.6% of children under the age of 5 in Indonesia were affected by stunting. Stunting is a complex nutritional problem influenced by various factors, including the environment. Several studies have examined the relationship between household hygiene and sanitation factors and growth retardation in young children. The aim of this research is to analyze the risk factors associated with personal hygiene and sanitation practices of parents or guardians within households in Indonesia. The research methodology employed in this study is a literature review. A total of 20 selected articles from the Garuda Jurnal and Sinta databases between 2019 and 2022 were evaluated based on publication criteria, namely freely available original research articles where at least one variable analyzed hygiene and sanitation in relation to child growth. The findings of this research were synthesized using the PRISMA method. The articles were grouped based on similar findings to address the research question. This study found that handwashing, access to clean water, toilet sanitation, and the occurrence of diarrhea were associated with the risk of stunting. The conclusion drawn from this research is that most studies indicate a relationship between personal hygiene and sanitation facilities and the occurrence of stunting. For future research, the use of systematic reviews and meta-analyses is recommended.

Abstract

Pemberian ASI Eksklusif pada bayi 6 bulan pertama sangat berpengaruh di tumbuh kembangnya sang balita sampai dewasa. ASI eksklusif yang diberikan akan berdampak positif bagi kesehatan sang bayi dan mencegah beberapa penyakit lainnya. Salah satunya adalah gejala stunting yang mengakibatkan balita gagal tumbuh dengan sempurna. Stunting dapat menyebabkan berkurangnya tingkat kecerdasan, penyakit lebih rentan masuk, dapat menurunkan tingkat produktivitas di masa depan, disisi lain dapat menghambat pertumbuhan ekonomi serta meningkatkan kemiskinan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengumpulkan dan menganalisa artikel yang berhubungan dengan dampak ASI eksklusif sebagai pencegahan stunting pada usia balita. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelusuran literature yaitu Google scholar, Pubmed, dan science direct. Kata kunci dalam melakukan pencarian artikel ini dengan “ASI eksklusif, stunting, dan anak balita”. Artikel yang dipublikasikan selanjutnya pada tahun 2013-2023 akan dipilih untuk direview. Kriteria dalam artikel yang akan direview dengan kata kunci ASI eksklusif, stunting, dan usia balita. Ada 6 artikel telah ditemukan yang dapat dilakukan sintesis secara naratif. Sangat terbukti bahwa pemberian ASI eksklusif dapat mengatasi dampak terjadinya stunting.

Abstract

Sasaran penderita diabetes mellitus tahun 2021 di Kota Bandung sebanyak 43,761 penderita, dari jumlah tersebut sebanyak 92.78% telah menerima layanan kesehatan sesuai standar. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalsis hubungan konsumsi buah dan sayur dengan kejadian diabetes mellitus. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah cross sectional. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah masyarakat yang berkunjung di poli umum Puskesmas Garuda. sampel diambil secara acak sederhana, jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 120 responden. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuesioner. Analisis data menggunakan uji chi square. Hasil penelitian didapatkan sebagian besar responden tidak menderita diabetes mellitus sebesar 29,2%. 60% responden cukup mengkonsumsi buah dan sayur. Ada hubungan konsumsi buah dan sayur dengan kejadian diabetes mellitus p=0,001 dan OR 3,968 (1,828-8,614). Orang yang cukup mengkonsumsi buah dan sayur setiap harinya berpeluang 3,9 kali terhindar dari diabetes mellitus dibandingkan dengan orang yang kurang mengkonsumsi buah dan sayur setiap harinya

Abstract

This study addresses the persistent nutritional challenge of stunting in Indonesia, often misconceived as solely hereditary. Research indicates that genetic factors contribute only 15%, emphasizing the significance of nutritional intake, growth hormones, and maternal and toddler health in stunting. The research aims to identify and prevent early stunting in neonates, aligning with the government's goal to combat stunting by 2025. Using an observational research design and dynamic system modeling through Stella software, the study develops an effective strategy model for reducing stunted neonates in the future. Simulation experiments provide reliable insights into dynamic systems, predicting various scenarios based on input data. Results highlight the importance of enhancing Antenatal Care (ANC) standards, iron supplementation, additional nutrition, and effective case management for pregnant women. Implementation of these factors at low to medium levels could potentially reduce stunted neonates by 25%, reaching 44% at a high level compared to current conditions. The study further recommends an empowerment model for pregnant women, involving family assistance in managing highly nutritious food based on local wisdom. This holistic approach addresses the root causes of stunting, contributing to the success of stunting prevention programs in Indonesia. The research emphasizes the multifactorial nature of stunting and provides valuable insights for policymakers and healthcare practitioners to develop comprehensive strategies for effective intervention and prevention.

Abstract

The milk contains bioactive compounds that are beneficial for health. One of bioactive compounds contained in the milk is protein nutrient. Examination of protein levels in foodstuffs can be tested using the Lowry method that considered more sensitive. The purpose of this study was to analyzed the protein levels of various types of dairy products. This research included laboratory research with samples of 5 types of dairy products were sweetened condensed milk with vanilla flavor, fresh cow's milk, vanilla flavored skim milk flour, vanilla flavored full cream milk flour, and plain goat's milk flour. Protein content of samples were tested using the Lowry method with 3 repetitions each. The collected data were tested using One way Anova and Tukey HSD. The results of the examination of protein levels in the sample showed that the highest protein content was vanilla flavored full cream milk flour (8.43%). Meanwhile, the lowest protein content were fresh cow's milk and vanilla flavored sweetened condensed milk, which were 2.86 and 2.87%, respectively. The average protein content in dairy products in the Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta was 5.39%. There are significant differences between various types of dairy products on protein content.
