Abstract

Background: Hypertension or better known as high blood pressure is a condition where a person's blood pressure is above the normal or optimal limit, namely 120 mmHg for systolic and 80 mmHg for diastolic. Treatment in patients with hypertension must be in accordance with the management of hypertension. In hypertension treatment therapy, patients must comply with check-ups to health services according to the applicable program for controlling and preventing hypertension according to the program from the Indonesian Ministry of Health, namely PTM (non-communicable diseases). The patient is said to be obedient if the patient checks up every 1 month regularly to check his blood pressure. Family support is one of the factors that determine the level of patient compliance in carrying out the treatment process.Purpose : The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between family support and check-up compliance in patients with hypertension.Methods: The research method used is quantitative analysis with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study were all hypertensive patients in the Cijeungjing Public Health Center, Ciamis Regency as many as 1,915 people with cases of death due to hypertension many 6 people so the population in this study was 1,909. Samples were taken using a proportional random sampling technique to obtain a sample of 95 people.Results: The results showed that family support for patients with hypertension was mostly in the good category as many as 50 people, check-up compliance in patients with hypertension was mostly in the obedient category as many as 63 people and there was a significant relationship between family support and check-up compliance in patients with hypertension because the value of value (0.05 0.000). This relationship is indicated by a correlation value of 0.776 which is included in the strong category (0.60-0.799).Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between family support with check-up compliance in patients with hypertension.
