Abstract

The Bakauheni Ferry Terminal is a ferry port that connects Sumatra and Java Island, which has a crossing distance of 15 miles. The Bakauheni - Merak route has 71 (seventy one) ships which operate for a regular boat travel time of 108 minutes while the executive ship travel time is 90 minutes. The average passenger productivity on the Bakauheni-Merak route is 477 passengers and the vehicle is 184 vehicles. The large productivity of passengers and vehicles on the Bakauheni-Merak route causes the ship's carrying capacity to be incompatible with the ship's particular ship. It is known that the Jatra 3 ship in the particular ship particular has a allowable capacity of 115 vehicles. However, based on observations it is known that the carrying capacity of more than 115 vehicles, The method of analyzing the carrying capacity on the ship uses the analysis of the daily load factor calculation. The primary data used is in the form of productivity data under normal conditions (January-March 2020) and during the covid-19 pandemic (April-May 2020) The results of the analysis show that the average daily load factor under normal conditions is 105% and during the Covid-19 pandemic it is 88%.

Abstract

UPTD LLASDP Port is a port located on Jl. Asia, Tungkal Ilir, West Tanjung Jabung Regency, Jambi which serves 3 route routes, namely Inter-Province, Inter-Regency, and Inter-Regency. In its application, the mooring pattern greatly affects the up and down activities of passengers at the pier. However, according to the existing conditions, the UPTD LLASDP Pier of West Tanjung Jabung Regency has not implemented a mooring pattern system so that ships that will moor at the Pier are still mooring carelessly without regard to the mooring pattern. This has an impact This is bad for passengers and the goods they carry, passengers who want to board the ship often find it difficult to board because of the irregular position of the ship's berth causing passengers and goods to fall into the river when loading and unloading goods occurs at the dock. The aims of this study are as follows: 1) To determine the existing conditions at the UPTD LLASDP Pier, especially when the ship will moor at the Pier. 2) To find out how the arrangement of the mooring pattern at the pier to suit the situation and conditions that are feasible to support the smooth activity of the pier. 3) To find out whether theactivities operationalas well as the condition of the pier in the passengers' boarding and disembarkation activities in the current condition are balanced with the services of port officers. The research methodology used is direct observation in the field (field research), interviews (Interview), literature/documentation (literature) and institutional. Then to analyze this, it is guided by Soedjono Kramadibaratha's Theory in the Port Planning book. The analysis used is the analysis of the mooring capacity of the ship according to the mooring pattern system (elongated, perpendicular and angled). The results of this study are 1) The capacity of the speedboat that can be moored at the UPTD LLASDP Wharf with a mooring pattern lengthwise to the pier, which is as many as 19 ships. 3) Capacity speedboat to mooring at Pier UPTD LLASDP with mooring system angled toward the dock as many as five ships (for an angle of 30°),7 Ships (to an angle of 45°),9 Ships (to an angle of 60°),19 ships (for angle 75°).This states that it is not necessary to increase the length of the pier because the mooring capacity has sufficed the maximum capacity of ships mooring simultaneously according to the ship's arrival and departure schedules, but there must be arrangements for the mooring pattern of ships and the need for placement of officers to regulate the mooring system at the pier.

Abstract

The exhaust valve is one of the components on the main engine that functions to close and open the flow of exhaust gas from the combustion chamber or liner, both in four-stroke and two-stroke diesel engines. The research was carried out for ±10 months on the Tonasa Line XV ship. The purpose of this study was to determine the cause of the exhaust valve leak. Primary data were obtained directly through interviews with related parties. Secondary data is obtained from data collection institutions and published to the data user community, in this study in the form of journals in e-journals. The results obtained from research identification show that first: the occurrence of spindle and seat valve wear due to a lack of maintenance systems, second: excess working hours of exhaust valves, third: clogged cooling water system. The identification of the research found that the cause of the exhaust valve leak was due to worn spindle and seat valves, excess working hours and blockage of the cooling water path. The ways that can be done to avoid damage are by grinding the spindle and seat valve, maintenance according to working hours, and cleaning the cooling water.

Abstract

Bahaur Ferry Port is a port located in Pulang Pisau Regency, Central Kalimantan Province and then managed by the Central Kalimantan Provincial Transportation Service and supervised by the Land Transportation Management Center (BPTD) Region XVI Central Kalimantan Province. There are still some deviations in port operations in terms of the Minister of Transportation KM. 52 of 2004, such as waiting rooms, inadequate offices due to joining ticket sales, and ready-to-load parking spaces that join the delivery/pick-up vehicle parking lots make the delivery/pick-up vehicles park their vehicles in any place because the parking lot is filled with ready-to-eat vehicles. fit. In addition, the Bahaur Ferry Port does not yet have a weighbridge and vehicle height limiter facilities. For this reason, it is necessary to review the fulfillment of the need for land facilities at the Bahaur Ferry Port. The method used to analyze the existing problems is the analysis of the calculation of the area needs based on KM. 52 of 2004 concerning the Operation of Ferry Ports and PM. 103 of 2017 concerning Regulation and Control of Vehicles using Crossing Transportation Services. Based on this analysis, it can be concluded that the land facilities at the Bahaur Ferry Port have not provided optimal services, so it is necessary to increase the area of the terminal building and the ready-to-load parking area as well as the parking area for delivery/pick-up vehicles and the procurement of a weighbridge and vehicle height limiter.

Abstract

Compressor is an auxiliary engine that use to produce pressure air. On ship compressor have important role as compressed air generator because this pressure air use for starting main engine and use for control air on the main engine. As one of auxiliary engine so more attention needed for this compressor for the smooth operation of the ship when sailing. The resulting impact of this lack of air pressure is failure at starting system on main engine. So analysis must be done on compressor as the producer of compressed air to find out the cause of this problem. the most influential component to produce compressed air is lp/hp valve. After knowing the cause of the lack of compressed air produced so maintenance must be do to lp/hp vale so compressed air can be produced without problems.

Abstract

Inside the ship's engine room there is one component part, the Centrifugal Pump. At centrifugal pumps often experience a decrease in the performance of a decrease in the capacity of centrifugal pumps which results in mechanical damage to the centrifugal pump impeller and the onset of vibrations all occur due to cavitation on centrifugal pumps. Cavitation is the occurrence of vapor bubbles forming in a liquid that is flowing because the liquid pressure decreases to below the saturated vapor pressure of the liquid at the pump operating temperature. This research was conducted with the aim to find out the cause of the declining performance of centrifugal pump capacity which results in cavitation. Through this applied scientific work can find the cause of the decrease in the capacity of the ship's centrifugal pump and the results will be used as a reference or reference for fellow machinists so that the centrifugal pump on the ship can operate optimally.

Abstract

Cooler is a auxiliary engine that functionaly to cooling fresh water on board, cooler usage is very important because the operational of main engine depends the cooler, because for diesel engine the cylinder liner always getting hot after combustion. If the cylinder get no cooling, the oil viscocity will be low and make piston and cylinder damaged. The purpose of this research is to know the problem of unnormaly temperature cooler. To understand the maintenance the trouble fresh water cooler. The method to solve this problem is observation. This method demanded the writter doing observation. The next is interview with first engineer, and looking for data from manual book, main engine journal. The study of this research is about the trouble from fresh water cooling KM. Leuser. With the important of the cooler we have to know the factor that’s make the temperature going up. And the result of the research is unoptimalize heat absorbtion from cooler plate and the stool from sea water filter, after the clean up the cooler is more cool.
