Abstract

Mathematical literacy is one of the needs of students to prepare themselves to be part of society in the future. Not only that, you are also required to be able to solve problems through higher order thinking skills (HOTS). The purpose of this research is to analyze students' mathematical literacy abilities in solving HOTS questions on circle material. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The research subjects came from class VIII, which consisted of 32 students. Collecting data in this study was carried out through written tests and interviews. Checking the validity of the data using the triangulation technique compared the acquisition of interviews and tests. In conducting data analysis, it is divided into three components, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Based on the research results, all indicators of mathematical literacy have been achieved by students with high mathematical abilities. Meanwhile, students who have moderate mathematical abilities have achieved communication indicators, problem solving strategies, and representations. Finally, students who have low mathematical abilities have achieved indicators of problem solving and representation strategies. Therefore, the use of this research is to find out students' mathematical literacy abilities and to design better learning activities to increase students' mathematical literacy skills.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze students' mathematical literacy abilities in solving High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) questions on circle material. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The research subjects were 3 students of class VIII. Data collection in the study was carried out in two stages, the first stage was a written test. The second stage is an interview with 7 questions that have been adjusted to indicators of mathematical literacy. Abstract

This research is about the development of a PjBL-based student worksheet that aims to support the numeracy skills of students, especially at the junior high school level, and to describe the development process as well as the validity and feasibility of PjBL-based student worksheet on the topic of integers to support the numeracy skills of seventh-grade students. This research uses the ADDIE development model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, evaluation). The development stages in this research are preliminary studies, planning, worksheet development, worksheet validation, and worksheet feasibility testing. The subjects of this study were seventh-grade students of a private junior high school in Surakarta, Central Java, Indonesia, in the 2023/2024 academic year. The data obtained from this study were interviews and questionnaire assessments. The worksheet validation by two expert validators showed that the worksheet was declared very valid with an average score of 3.725. The feasibility test results based on a questionnaire from students showed an average score of 3.248 with a very valid category.

Abstract

This study aims to describe how the critical thinking process of students in solving math problems in the form of story problems of the Three-Variable Linear Equation System (SPLTV). This type of research is descriptive and uses qualitative methods. The subjects in this study were 6 students of class X 5 SMA Batik 1 Surakarta with high, medium, and low categories. Data collection techniques used tests and interviews, which have been declared valid by validators. Indicators of students' critical thinking abilities in research include clarification, assessment, strategy and inference. The results of this study are high category students can fulfill all indicators of critical thinking aspects, namely clarification, assessment, strategies, and inference. Medium category students are only able to fulfill three indicators, namely clarification, assessment, and strategies or only two indicators, namely clarification, and assessment. Low category students are only able to fulfill one critical thinking indicator, namely clarification, while other subjects cannot fulfill any critical thinking indicators. Keywords: critical thinking, math story problems, SPLTV.
