Abstract

SME partners making brem business activity is managed by Mrs. Sukiati at Kaliabu village located at Madiun. Based on observations and interviews conducted by the team this PKM SME partners that the data obtained in the pressing process to take the juice of raw material is done manually. White glutinous pressing process (raw material brem) was performed using a less efficient equipment (12kg/process limited capacity). Besides, the pressing tool is not hygienic (wood and bamboo). Purpose of this activity is to improve productivity of SMEs with indicators: (1) accelerate the process of pressing sticky tape material originally brem 150 kg/day to 300 kg/day; (2) improve the quality of production, due to the changing methods performed manually are now becoming more hygienic. Expected outcomes of the event realization sticky tape pressing machine of the hydraulic system as a raw material brem. The result of activities are: (1) the realization of sticky tape pressing machine hydraulic system, (2) the process of pressing sticky tape material brem be over 2 times faster than the original 150 kg/day to 300 kg/day, (3) qualities brem production increases, because the pressing tool originally done using wood and bamboo are now becoming more hygienic done by machine.

Abstract

Abstrak             Komposit merupakan bahan yang terdiri dari matriks, serat dan katalis. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan matriks polyester BQTN 157, serat pohon aren (ijuk) dan katalis methil ethyl keton peroxide. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui kekuatan tarik pada bahan komposit berpenguat serat pohon aren (ijuk) dan mekanisme kegagalan dan bentuk penampang patahan setelah dilakukan pengujian tarik. Dalam penelitian ini serat pohon aren (ijuk) direndam didalam larutan alkali 5% NaOH selama 2 jam, lalu serat pohon aren (ijuk) dibuat bahan komposit dengan variasi fraksi volume serat 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, dan 60%. Metode pembuatan bahan komposit dilakukan dengan metode hand lay-up dan metode press mold, untuk spesimen pengujian tarik mengacu pada standart ASTM D-638. Dari data hasil pengujian tarik diperoleh kekuatan tarik tertinggi terdapat pada fraksi volume serat 40% yaitu sebesar 24,65 MPa, sedangkan untuk kekuatan tarik terendah terdapat pada fraksi volume serat 20% yaitu sebesar 17,55 MPa. Untuk bentuk penampang dari bahan komposit setelah dilakukan pengujian tarik terdapat dua jenis, yaitu fiber pull out dan delamination.   Kata kunci : komposit polyester, serat ijuk, fraksi volume serat, kekuatan tarik

Abstract

Recently, composite materials have attracted the attention of researchers because of their advantages. The utilization of composite materials is widely used in various industrial fields, including in the automotive industry which is used as a car bumper. A car bumper composite material must be resistant to shock loads and good in energy absorption. Due to this, the composite material will be subjected to an impact test. This study aims to analyze the effect of variations in fiber volume fraction on the impact strength of laminated composites with a polyester matrix with sugar palm fiber (SPF) reinforcement with fiber orientation direction: random and woven. Composite fabrication was carried out using the hand layup and press molding methods with variations in fiber volume fractions of 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, and 60%. Then the Charpy impact test was carried out with ASTM D-6110 standard and analyzed the fracture morphology. The test results show that increasing the fiber volume fraction up to 40% can increase the impact strength. However, the impact strength decreased at 50% and 60% fiber volume fraction. The results of the largest impact test were obtained at the 40% fiber volume fraction of 0.62 J/mm2 while the lowest value at the 20% fiber volume fraction was 0.42 J/mm2. The increase in the impact test value can be due to the uniform distribution of the load by the matrix to the fiber. Based on the morphological analysis carried out through macro photos of the shape of the fracture and the cross-section of the fracture, the results of the impact test showed that fibrous fractures occurred while on the cross-section of the fracture delamination and fiber pullout appeared.

Abstract

The current automotive industry uses composite materials as an alternative material to replace metal or plastic, due to the advantages of composite materials that have biodegradable properties and support environmental sustainability. Composite materials can be used as car body protectors, as a protector composite materials must withstand compressive loads. Referring to this, the research will be carried out through flexural testing. Study aim is to analyze variations of fiber volume fraction effect to the flexural strength. Method of making composite materials using hand layup then press mold, variations in fiber volume fraction 25%, 30%, 35%, 40%, and 45%. Flexural testing is carried out according to ASTM D-790. The morphology analysis was also carried out on the fractures of result of flexural test. Flexural testing results show that the highest flexural strength is founded in the fiber volume fraction 50% and the lowest flexural strength is founded in the fiber volume fraction 25%, 724.4 MPa and 435.8 MPa, respectively. A suitable composition in the fiber volume fraction of 40% can produce an optimal bond between the matrix and the fiber. Observing the morphology of the fracture and the cross-section of the fracture flexural testing results, it was found that there were fiber fractures with the characteristics of fiber pullout and delamination in each test specimen.

Abstract

The quantity of animal feed in Kebondalem Village in the form of green grass during the rainy season is very abundant, but during the dry season is very low. On the other hand, during the dry season, agricultural wastes such as rice straw, corncobs, and soybean trees are very abundant but have not been fully utilized by kelompok ternak Makmur as animal feed. Utilization of agricultural waste can be increased by making alternative animal feed from agricultural waste as an effort to fulfill the quantity of animal feed. The ammoniase method was chosen for make of alternative animal feeds because it is cost-effective and easy to do. Animal feed that have needed for kelompok ternak Makmur reaches 600 kg/day so that in the process of counting agricultural waste before making ammonia, it is done using a multifunctional grass chopper. The machine used has a capacity of 500 kg/h. Based on the calculations, it was found that to fulfill animal feed during the dry season (6 months) it required 108,000 kg of feed, using a multifunctional grass chopper it took 27 days to meet the needs of animal feed for 6 months with an estimated machine usage of 8 hours/day. Extension activities on the operation of the machine and the making of alternative animal feed using the ammoniase method have been carried out. From the calculations and the kelompok ternak Makmur readiness to receive the extension material provided, it is very likely that the problem related to the low quantity of animal feed in the dry season has been resolved. Abstrak Kuantitas pakan ternak di Desa Kebondalem berupa rumput hijau saat musim hujan sangat melimpah, namun saat musim kemarau kuantitasnya sangat sedikit. Disisi lain, saat musim kemarau limbah pertanian seperti jerami padi, bonggol jagung dan pohon kedelai kuantitasnya sangat melimpah tetapi belum sepenuhnya dimanfaatkan oleh kelompok ternak Makmur sebagai pakan ternak. Pemanfaatan limbah pertanian dapat ditingkatkan kembali dengan membuat pakan ternak alternatif dari limbah pertanian sebagai upaya pemenuhan kuantitas pakan ternak. Metode amoniase dipilih untuk pembuatan pakan ternak alternatif karena hemat biaya dan mudah dilakukan. Kebutuhan pakan ternak kelompok ternak Makmur mencapai 600 kg/hari sehingga dalam proses pencacahan limbah pertanian sebelum pembuatan amoniase dilakukan menggunakan mesin pencacah rumput multifungsi. Mesin yang digunakan mempunyai kapasitas 500 kg/jam. Berdasarkan perhitungan didapatkan bahwa untuk memenuhi pakan ternak selama musim kemarau (6 bulan) dibutuhkan pakan sebanyak 108.000 kg, dengan menggunakan mesin pencacah rumput multifungsi dibutuhkan waktu 27 hari untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pakan ternak selama 6 bulan dengan estimasi penggunaan mesin yaitu 8 jam/hari. Kegiatan penyuluhan pengoperasian mesin dan pembuatan pakan ternak alternatif metode amoniase telah dilakukan. Dari perhitungan yang dilakukan dan kesiapan kelompok ternak dalam menerima materi penyuluhan yang diberikan, sangat besar kemungkinan masalah terkait kuantitas pakan ternak yang sedikit di musim kemarau sudah terselesaikan.

Abstract

Tujuan dalam kegiatan ini yaitu untuk meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat produktif, yang mana untuk mewujudkan hal tersebut dilakukan dengan menerapkan solusi pada permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh mitra yaitu berupa:Pembuatan mesin pencacah multifungsi dengan menggunakan 2 saringan. Dengan adanya mesin ini diharapkan proses pencacahan rumput baik rumput hijau maupun limbah pertanian dapat meningkatkan kualitas dan kuatitas pakan ternak. Dengan kapasitas mesin yang dapat mencacah rumput sebanyak 5 karung per jam, dalam 8 jam kerja menghasilkan 40 karung. Hal ini sangat memungkinkan dapat mensuplai kebutuhan pakan ternak dengan baik. Jika diestimasikan ternak dapat menghabiskan 15 karung per hari, maka kebutuhan pakan ternak dapat tercukupi.Penyuluhan pembuatan pakan ternak alternatif menggunakan proses silase dari limbah pertanian. Guna mencukupi kebutuhan pakan ternak pada saat musim kemarau diperlaukan pakan ternak alternatif, salah satunya menggunakan limbah peternakan yang jumlahnya melimpah di Desa Kebondalem. Proses pembuatan pakan alternatif ini diawali dengan mencacah limbah pertanian menggunakan mesin pencacah rumput multifungsi. Kemudian rumput hasil cacahan di tambahkan urea. Kemudian dibiarkan selama 24 jam. Setelah itu jemur, dan angin- anginkan selama 48 jam dan hasil amoniase dapat diberikan pada ternak.Memberikan pelatihan Manajemen Usaha khususnya di bagian Financial Sehingga peternak Di Desa Kebondalem menjadi berkembang dan mengalami kemajuan.

Abstract

This development research aims to find out the results of the development of the android-based Inventor 2023 e-module as mobile learning for the Mechanical Engineering Subject at the Vocational High School level. The development of the production model used is the development of the Dick and Carey model. The results of the validity test data were obtained for R.Count all of the 15 items of questionnaire statement items on all variables in this study yielded values for R.Count > R.Table where the R.Table value was 0.361, so the indicators in these variables can be called valid. For reliability testing, it has a Cronbach's Alpha coefficient that is greater than 0.70 which is equal to 0.818 so that the variables from the questionnaire are reliable. The results of the trial data obtained for content experts were 90.33%, media experts were 84.44%, design experts were 91.61%, peer trials were 90.21%, small group trials were 91.73%, medium group trials of 92.13%, and large/field group trials of 90.04%. With these data, the Inventor 2023 e-module that has been developed falls into very good criteria and is very suitable for use in learning.
