Abstract

Halitosis is an oral health condition characterized by continuous unpleasant breath odour. The causes of halitosis can be of both intraoral and extraoral origin. Public knowledge about halitosis is needed because it can help in preventing and dealing with halitosis. The purpose of this study is to find out an overview of public knowledge about the causes and treatment of halitosis. This research uses the literature study method, namely the method of collecting library data, reading and recording, and managing research materials. Based on the results of literature reviews in 8 journals, it can be concluded that the picture of knowledge about halitosis and its treatment in the community is relatively moderate. People know that halitosis is a poor oral health condition characterized by an unpleasant breath odour. People know that halitosis comes from poor oral hygiene as well as systemic diseases, halitosis can be treated by brushing your teeth, consuming fresh fruit and using mouthwash.

Abstract

Menjaga kesehatan gigi dan mulut yaitu menyikat gigi sebelum tidur yang berperan penting dalam pencegahan perkembangan bakteri yang dapat menyebabkan kerusakan gigi. Mulut merupakan suatu tempat yang ideal bagi perkembangan bakteri, karena temperature kelembapan dan sisa makanan. Dalam usaha menjaga kebersihan gigi dan mulut sebaiknya diberikan dari usia sekolah dasar karena usia tersebut merupakan saat ideal untuk melatih kemampuan anak menyikat gigi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengtahui kebiasaan menggosok gigi malam hari dan status karies anak kelas III, IV dan V di SDN Minasa Upa. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif dengan menggunakan teknik purvosipe sampling. Hasil penelitian tentang gambaran kebiasaan menggosok gigi pada malam hari dengan status karies pada anak kelas III, IV dan V dapat disimpulkan bahwa anak yang menggosok gigi pada malam hari mrmpunyai karies yang lebih sedikit dibandingkan siswa yang tidak menggosok gigi pada malam hari.

Abstract

Background: Formula milk is milk produced by the industry for the purpose of proper nutritional intake and can be accepted by the child's body system. Dental caries is an infectious disease that can damage the hard tissue structure of the teeth, which includes enamel, dentine and cementum, caused by the activity of microorganisms in fermenting carbohydrates. Research Objectives: To determine the effect of formula feeding on caries in preschool-aged children. Research Methods: Literature study, where the literature study method is one of the techniques for listing theoretical references come from textbooks, journals, scientific articles, literature review which contains the effect of formula feeding on caries in preschool-aged children. Conclution: Consumption of formula milk has an effect on dental caries in preschool children. Carbohydrate content such as sucrose and lactose can cause dental caries and if you consume formula milk too often, the severity of dental caries will be higher.
