Abstract

Kegiatan literasi pada anak-anak tergolong rendah termasuk di Dusun Pondok Songkar, Lombok Tengah. Anak-anak yang masih bersekolah lebih banyak menghabiskan waktunya untuk bermain. Banyak faktor yang mempengaruhi kondisi literasi yang rendah di kalangan anak-anak, salah satunya seperti minimnya fasilitas tempat membaca. Tujuan pengabdian ini untuk menggalakan kegiatan literasi melalui taman baca sehingga dapat menjadi wadah yang mendorong dan meningkatkan budaya literasi di kalangan generasi muda khususnya anak-anak. Strategi yang digunakan dengan menghadirkan Taman Baca Mini yang dilengkapi dengan beberapa sumber bacaan, serta pendampingan jangka Panjang. Keberadaan taman baca mini saat ini mulai menarik rasa antusias anak-anak di Dusun Pondok Songkar untuk mulai membaca buku. Taman baca mini di Dusun Pondok Songkar menjadi sarana yang meningkatkan pengetahuan dan wawasan masyarakat terutama generasi muda.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi tipe kesalahan dan faktor-faktor penyebab siswa kelas VI SD melakukan kesalahan dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita operasi hitung campuran berdasarkan Fong’s Schematic Model for Error Analysis. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian survei dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 1928 siswa. Mereka adalah siswa kelas VI SD di Kecamatan Kebumen, Jawa Tengah, Indonesia dan sampel berjumlah 522 siswa. Instrumen pengumpulan data berupa soal tes berbentuk uraian yang disajikan dalam soal cerita. Instrumen dinyatakan valid berdasarkan validitas isi dan konstruk. Koefisien reliabilitas instrument sebesar 0,83. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tipe kesalahan yang dominan dilakukan oleh siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita yang melibatkan dua operasi hitung tidak setara adalah prosedur yang tidak relevan atau E2, sedangkan tipe kesalahan yang dominan dilakukan oleh siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita yang melibatkan tiga atau lebih operasi hitung adalah skema lengkap degan kesalahan. Kedua, faktor yang menyebabkan siswa melakukan kesalahan adalah kesalahan bahasa dan pemahaman dan kesalahan operasional.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the views of PGSD students of Mataram University regarding statistics and its teaching. This type of research is a survey given to 142 PGSD students who have taken educational statistics courses as a sample. The research instrument is a questionnaire distributed via Google Forms. The data analysis used is descriptive statistics with the help of SPSS software. The study results are divided into two aspects: views on statistics and teaching statistics. The results obtained from the aspect of views on statistics are (1) The understanding of statistics as the development of science and a branch of statistical science is an understanding that has been agreed upon by most students; (2) Regarding the objectives of the statistics course at the University of Mataram which is mandatory, students stated that they agree that the objective is to draw valid conclusions in research. Furthermore, the results obtained in terms of views on statistics teaching are: (1) Most students have the main motivation to study statistics to fulfill semester credit units and want to master and apply the main lecture material; (2) The hope of most respondents after taking the statistics course is to be able to apply statistics in research/final assignments; (3) if they have difficulty understanding the material, students will ask their colleagues.

Abstract

Numeracy is an essential skill that must be possessed to be successful in the 21st century. Numeration contains complex problems that link mathematics to everyday life. It is necessary to know the numeracy abilities of prospective elementary school teacher students as an initial effort to develop the numeracy abilities of future elementary school teachers. Apart from that, knowing what errors arise in solving numeracy questions is necessary to know what actions to use to develop the numeracy of prospective elementary school teachers. One theory that can be used to see student errors in solving numeracy questions is based on Newman's Errors Analysis (NEA). This research used a qualitative approach involving 154 students, of which 124 experienced errors. The research results showed that there were student errors in Reading Errors (R) at 9.68%, Comprehension Errors (C) at 27.42%, Transformation Errors (T) at 22.58%, Process Skills Errors (P) at 35, 48%, and Encoding Errors (E) of 4.84%. These errors are caused by students not being able to understand the basic concept of fractions, incorrect conceptual understanding regarding the concept of fractions, and students not understanding how to write fraction symbols and what two fractions have in common
