Abstract

Effective school management is an important factor in improving the quality of education in primary schools. The principal has a very important role in leading and managing the school to achieve the desired educational goals. This study aims to gather information from literature studies related to improving school management by principals in elementary schools. The literature study was carried out by collecting and analyzing relevant articles that discussed school management, school principals, and elementary schools. Some of the key findings from this literature study are as follows: Strong Leadership: An effective school principal is a leader who has a clear vision, mission, and strategy for managing the school. Resource Management: Principals must be able to manage existing resources in schools. Effective Communication: An effective principal must have good communication skills, both in verbal and non-verbal communication. Improving the Quality of Teaching: Principals should focus on improving the quality of teaching in schools. They must monitor, evaluate, and guide teachers to improve the quality of learning in the classroom. Plus, the principal. Principals must build good cooperation with teachers, staff, students, parents, and other related parties. They must be able to motivate and involve stakeholders in decision making, program implementation, and evaluation of educational outcomes in schools. This research concludes that principals who are effective in school management can play an important role in improving the quality of education in elementary schools. The ability of school principals in strong leadership, resource management, effective communication, improving teaching quality, and collaboration with stakeholders is very much needed to achieve educational goals.

Abstract

The KTSP curriculum included in the 2013 curriculum as a complement to the previous curriculum is expected to change the perspective of educators in managing, planning and developing learning in the classroom. IPS learning. Student learning activities are not focused on finding a concept but rather on memorizing it, and book-based learning does not foster critical thinking skills. Therefore we need a Problem Solving learning model as a learning model that can help. students develop their Higher-Order Thinking Skills. The purpose of this research is to ascertain how social studies teaching in elementary schools incorporates HOTS-oriented problem solving. Qualitative literature review was conducted as a research method. Documentation study is a data collection technique, and involves examining the contents of documents related to the research subject. This research can be used as a reference for elementary school teachers to implement learning in their classes. As a result, teachers can use it to overcome learning challenges.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the practicality of developing valid and practical high order thinking skills (HOTS)-based assessment instruments for assessing the knowledge of fifth grade elementary school students on IPS Theme 6 content. This type of research is development research. The development research model used is 4-D development namely define, design, development and disseminate. At the practicality stage, the HOTS-based assessment instrument was tested on 26 students in class V SD and 1 teacher in class V SD. Based on the results of practicality, it shows that the HOTS-based cognitive assessment instrument on IPS Theme 6 Sub-theme 3 class V SD content developed is very practical for use by teachers and students with a practicality percentage of 91.8%. It can be concluded that the cognitive assessment instrument based on HOT on IPS Theme 6 class V SD content is practical and can be used as a tool to measure the knowledge of fifth grade SD students on IPS Theme 6 Sub theme 3 content.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the increase in student learning outcomes by using the Listening Team learning model in thematic subjects in class V SDN 06 Empang Teras. The Listening Team learning model is an approach that involves active participation of students in listening, discussing, and working in teams. This research was conducted in the context of class V with research subjects totaling 15 students of class V SDN 06 Empang Teras. The research method is classroom action research. The research subjects were researchers as teachers and observers, researchers as well as practitioners and 15 fifth grade students at SDN 06 Empang Teras. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and testing of learning outcomes. The results of the study are: (1) lesson plans have an increase in the first cycle of 81.25% while the second cycle is 92.5%. (2) The aspect of the teacher also experienced an increase in the first cycle of 80% while the second cycle was 94.44%. (3) The student aspect also experienced an increase in the first cycle of 80% while the second cycle was 94.44%. (4) Learning outcomes also increased 41.07% in the first cycle, while the second cycle was 92.85%.
