Abstract

Plankton memiliki peranan yang sangat penting dalam sistem rantai makanan dan keanekaragaman plankton juga dapat menjadi indikator suatu perairan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kelimpahan, keanekaragaman, dan dominasi plankton di Muara Sungai Sambera dan Perairan Pangempang Muara Badak. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Februari 2019. Pengambilan sampel plankton menggunakan jaring plankton dengan menyaring air sebanyak 100 l dan menyaring hingga 5-10 ml. Hasil penelitian ini ditemukan 25 kelas dan 75 spesies plankton. Nilai kelimpahan plankton berkisar antara 1323 sampai 5292. Nilai keanekaragaman plankton berkisar antara 2,841 sampai 3,269. Nilai dominasi plankton berkisar antara 0,51 hingga 0,81. Dari ketiga indeks tersebut diketahui kondisi perairan muara perairan Sambera dan Pangempang dalam kondisi baik.

Abstract

To find out the characteristics of sea water quality in tidal and low conditions with parameters including DO, Salinity, pH, Temperature, Turbidity, Brightness. The study was conducted from February to April 2019. The collection of water quality parameters in pangempang waters using tools contained in the laboratory at 5 station points. Results from the parameters DO, Salinity, pH, Temperature and Brightness at the research site, while for Brightness in the Laboratory of Water Quality Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences. The average result of the measurement at the tide conditions on the DO parameter is obtained 5.76 mg / l, the Salinity parameter obtained 21.8 o/oo, the pH parameter obtained 6.4, the temperature parameter obtained 32.2 oC, the turbidity parameter obtained 0.27 NTU parameter Brightness obtained 2.6 meters, while the average result of the measurement at receding conditions at the DO parameter obtained 6.56 mg / l, salinity parameter obtained 23.2 o/oo parameter pH obtained 7, Temperature parameter obtained 31.8oC turbidity parameter obtained 1.6 NTU parameter Brightness obtained 1.33 Meters.

Abstract

There are many activities in and around Balikpapan Bay which is expected to provide input of organic matter and waste containing heavy metals that may accumulate in seagrass. Seagrass is a material that can be used for analysis of heavy metal content and can accumulate these contaminants. This study aimed to analyze the levels of heavy metals (Pb, Cd, and Cu) in seagrass (Enhalus acoroides and Thalassia hemprichii) in the waters of Balikpapan Bay. Seagrass samples were taken at two stations with three repetitions. The samples were then dry-destructed prior to heavy metal analysis. Analyses The results showed that the heavy metal content of Pb was higher at Station 2 (dominated by Thalassia hemprichii) in the stem, Cd was higher at Station 1 (dominated by Enhalus acoroides) in the stem, and Cu was found higher on the leaf. Of the Seagrass at Station 2. The levels of Pb in the seagrass have exceeded the quality standard stipulated in KEPMEN No. 51 of 2004.
