Abstract

Seorang pendidik selalu berusaha menciptakan suasana kelas yang menarik, kreatif, dan efektif sepanjang jadwal pembelajaran. Menyadari pentingnya keterlibatan siswa dalam proses belajar-mengajar, diperlukan penerapan metode pembelajaran interaktif yang memungkinkan terjadinya komunikasi dua arah antara guru dan siswa. Hal ini memungkinkan para siswa untuk aktif berpartisipasi dalam proses belajar-mengajar, dan menyampaikan pendapat, serta respon terhadap materi yang diajarkan. Namun, tanpa dukungan teknologi dan media yang tepat, pelaksanaan metode ini menjadi sulit dan menghambat tercapainya tujuan pembelajaran secara optimal. Meskipun banyak pendidik sudah familiar dengan konsep dan model pembelajaran interaktif, penerapannya masih belum mencapai potensinya dengan baik. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan pengabdian yang penulis lakukan difokuskan pada pemanfaatan media pembelajaran interaktif dengan menggunakan platform SLIDO, yang telah terbukti efektif dan menarik bagi para penggunanya. Kegiatan pengabdian ini diimplementasikan di sebuah Sekolah Menengah Atas, dengan tujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan dan pembekalan kepada para guru dalam mengoptimalkan penggunaan media interaktif ini.

Abstract

The Department of Information System at Institut Teknologi B.J. Habibie still physically records each student's attendance by having them sign a presence sheet for each course. Due to the ease with which fraudulent signatures can be used to manipulate the traditional system, there may be some issues. Additionally, manual presence recapitulation takes more time and could be less precise and effective. This research aims to develop a prototype of Android-based application of student presence system with QR Code technology in the Department of Information System, Institut Teknologi B.J. Habibie. Following the creation of the presence system prototype, ISO 25010 quality standards were used to evaluate the application. The criteria evaluated are functionality, usability, portability, performance efficiency, and security. The application’s functionality was tested by two system experts by using Guttman Scale and it gained 100% yes answer. The usability was tasted from 30 users rating the application usability through a survey using Likert Scale, it achieved the average percentage of positive answers is 91%. The performance efficiency was classified as grade A by GTmetrix testing site. Similarly, the security system tested by sslabs.com achieved grade A. Furthermore, the portability was tested by using 4 different web browsers for the web version and by installing the application on 4 different smartphones and they showed no errors. Based on the overall assessment result, the Android-based Student Presence System is feasible, efficient, suitable and secure.

Abstract

This community service project aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of SMAN 5 Parepare teachers in developing interactive learning modules based on Google Slide and Quizizz applications and implementing Image Recognition technology. This method of implementation used training and reinforcement. This activity's evaluation instrument employed questionnaires, which were then descriptively analyzed using pre-test and post-test data. The results of this study indicated that teachers at SMAN 5 Parepare could develop interactive learning modules based on Google Slides and Quizizz adapted to the subject matter being taught. 38% of all questions answered correctly by the participants in this activity improved their teacher's skills.

Abstract

Shallots are one of the abundant horticultural commodities in Enrekang Regency. Even though the harvest of this plant is abundant, most of the cultivation in this area is still done manually. One of the systems that farmers need most at the moment is a plant watering system, because farmers have to maximize crop yields where the watering process is still done manually using sprinklers. Therefore, this research aims to design a monitoring system using IoT technology based on the parameters of temperature, soil humidity and air humidity. There are 3 components that will be built, namely IoT technology to collect data in real time, a web-based database application to process and store data, and a mobile application for monitoring. This research will be carried out in 4 stages: 1) preparation and coordination, 2) design and installation of tools and data collection, 3) application design, 4) publication. There are 4 control system points embedded in the fields and connected to each other with a Wireless Sensor Network system which continuously reads values from sensors. Then data from the sensor will be forwarded by the NodeMCU EPS8266 module to the firebase.com database and then displayed in the Mobile Application. The NodeMCU ESP8266 module can send data if it is connected to a Wi-Fi access point signal with a range of ±25 meters and the waiting time (delay) of the NodeMCU ESP8266 module will be greater the further the distance from the Wi-Fi access point.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the logical thinking abilities of SMAN 4 Parepare students by teaching the application of mathematical logic in compiling computer instructions based on MIT App Inventor. The method for implementing this service was problem-based learning training by taking the example of the traditional game of rock-paper-scissors as a learning case. Next, create a rock-paper-scissors game program using MIT App Inventor as a student learning experience in applying mathematical logic concepts. The evaluation instrument employed was a questionnaire to collect pre-test and post-test results, which were then analyzed using descriptive statistics and paired sample t-tests. The results of this service showed an increase in the average participant score on the post-test results, where the average pre-test score was 7.24 out of 15, while the average post-test score was 9.17 out of 15.

Abstract

Despite the massive production of shallots in Enrekang Regency, South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia, the cultivation method is still very conventional. Shallot cultivation is very challenging because it requires precision irrigation and pest prevention. In this research, we proposed a smart irrigation system to help farmers manage irrigation with more efficient water usage without hampering their pest prevention. The results of the system were three options: 1) no water needed, 2) water is required and is efficient for irrigation, and 3) water is required but it is not efficient for irrigation. We used Wireless Sensor Networks and IoT to collect yield parameters, designed a firebase database, and developed a mobile application and a web service embedded with a machine learning application. All applications interacted using the representational state transfer application programming interface. The proposed system architecture successfully gathered cropland data and distributed them to all applications within the system. Furthermore, we analyzed four supervised learning algorithms (decision trees, random forest, gradient boosting, and K-Nearest neighbor), and the random forest was deployed in the web service because it outperformed other algorithms with a precision of 94% and an AUC score of 0.90.
