Abstract

Abstract Waste workers are susceptible to workplace accidents. In 2021, the number of work-related accidents in Indonesia, including those caused by waste collection, could reach 234,270. From 2020 to 2021, there were 6 cases of Occupational Diseases and 16 cases of Occupational Accidents at the PKPLH Office of Kudus Regency due to a lack of safety behaviour knowledge. The purpose of this study was to determine whether waste workers at the Housing, Settlement, and Environment Office of Kudus Regency had different levels of safety behaviour knowledge before and after receiving video tutorials. This is a quantitative study employing the Pre-Experimental research method and the One Group Pretest-Posttest research design. This research was conducted in August 2022 with 62 participants. The results of this study indicate that there is a difference in waste workers' knowledge of safety behavior after receiving video tutorials. Sig. (2-tailed) 0.000, therefore p < 0.05. The conclusion of this study is that there is a difference in safety behaviour knowledge among waste workers of the Housing, Settlement, and Environmental Office of Kudus Regency after receiving video tutorials.

Abstract

Children are included in a vulnerable group that must be protected, both from the threat of natural disasters, non-natural disasters or social disasters. School is a place for children to spend a lot of time. Disaster events can occur anywhere and at any time, including at school and during school hours, so schools must have an adequate emergency response system to ensure the safety of all its citizens. The purpose of this study is to identify problems that exist in schools related to the implementation of the disaster response system and formulate indicators for the initiation of initial activities for implementing the emergency response system in elementary school. The research design uses a qualitative descriptive research. The results of identifying problems in Elementary School Y show that school has not implemented an emergency response and disaster mitigation system, but teachers' knowledge regarding multi-hazard mitigation is also still low. The conclusions obtained are that schools can apply initial activity initiation indicators for the implementation of an emergency response system including: preparation of an emergency response team complete with duties and roles, preparation of SOPs for emergency response at school, training and simulation of disaster mitigation, preparation of evacuation maps, installation of evacuation directions, determination gathering points, emergency response signs, installation of emergency response facilities at least Light Fire Extinguishers/APAR and instructions for their use, as well as developing a network of cooperation with related parties.

Abstract

Globally, construction is considered the riskiest industry and construction workers have twice the risk of injury than workers in other jobs. PUPR Ministry data for 2017 states that construction is the largest contributor to accident cases in Indonesia with an average incidence of 32% each year. Unsafe behavior is the most common cause of work accidents. Based on observations, it was found that workers engaged in unsafe behavior in the Pekalongan City tidal food control project with an average incidence of 15% per day. This study aims to determine what factors are associated with unsafe behavior. The type of research used is analytic observational with a cross sectional approach and the sampling technique uses simple random sampling. The population of this study was 115 workers and the sample size was determine using the Slovin formula (error rate of 5%) obtained by 95 respondents. The research instruments used questionnairs and observation sheets. The results of the bivariate analysis showed that there was a significant connection between knowledge (p=0.006), supervision (p=0.000), and fatigue (0.000) on unsafe behavior. The results of the multivariate analysis show that supervision is the most powerful factor influencing unsafe behavior.

Abstract

In 2020-2022, there were fires in 15 hospitals around the world that handled COVID-19, causing 280 deaths. In Indonesia, there were 8 hospital fires during July to October 2020. Hospital fires pose a high risk because most of the hospital residents are patients undergoing treatment so their physical condition is unable to carry out rescue measures and relies on medical equipment. This research aims to determine the implementation of the fire control system at Regional General Hospital of Salatiga City. This research is a type of descriptive research with qualitative methods. The informants in this research consisted of 3 main informants and 4 triangulation informants. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews and documentation studies. The data analysis used is univariate analysis. The research results showed that of the total of 90 indicators, 79% (71 indicators) had been fulfilled and 21% (19 indicators) had not been fulfilled. Fire control system at Regional General Hospital of Salatiga City is included in the adequate category. Most of the fire control system components function well, but there are several other utility sub-components that function imperfectly or do not comply with the specified requirements.
