Abstract

Pattudduq Sarawadang dance is one of the traditional dances originating from the Mandar area, Majene Regency, which still exists today. The purpose of this study was to analyze and describe the form of presentation of the pattudduq sarawadang dance in Majene Regency. This type of research is case study-based qualitative. The method used is a qualitative method with an ethnochoreological approach. Research data were collected by interview, observation, and document study techniques. Checking the validity of the data using triangulation. The research data were analyzed qualitatively through the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and data verification or drawing conclusions. The results showed that the form of the Pattudduq Sarawadang dance includes movement, dancers, fashion/makeup, floor patterns, music, property and venue. There are six kinds of motion in dance. The Pattudduq Sarawadang dance is performed by women with an even number of at least four people. The properties used are fans and scarves. The accompaniment in dance uses drums, gongs, and keke instruments as well as singing. The place for the Pattudduq Sarawadang dance performance is in an open arena. The findings in this study are that there is a transformation or change in shape that occurs in the range of motion, dancers, costumes used, music and props in the Pattudduq Sarawadang dance.

Abstract

Abstrak. Nail art adalah tindakan untuk mempercantik kuku dengan memberi gambar, lukisan atau hiasan baik secara langsung maupun menggunakan kuku palsu. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan sejarah, bentuk, warna dan teknik pembuatannya. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nail art atau seni menghias kuku telah dikenal sejak ratusan tahun yang lalu dan berkembang hingga sampai saat ini, terdapat bentuk nail art yang dilihat dari kukunya yaitu oval, square, squoval, round dan pointed, dari segi warna tersedia berbagai macam warna namun penggunaannya harus disesuaikan dengan warna kulit. Teknik yang digunakan untuk membuat nail art adalah kuas, stamping, water marble, dan ombre. Hasil penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan nail art yang dapat dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat dan pendidikan. Abstract. Nail art is an action to beautify nails by giving pictures, painting or decorations either directly or using artificial nails. The purpose of this study is to explain the history, shape, colour and manufacturing techniques. This research method uses literature study. The results show that nail art or nail art has been known for hundreds of years and has developed until now, there are forms of nail art seen from the nails, namely oval, square, squoval, round and pointed, in terms of color, there are various colors available. but its use must be adjusted to the color of the skin. The techniques used to make nail art are brush, stamping, water marble, and ombre. The results of this study are to increase knowledge of nail art that can be utilized by the community and education.

Abstract

Abstrak. Pendidikan seni di masa modern saat ini banyak sekali tantangan kontradiktif antara konsep dan implementasi di lapangan dalam kurikulumnya. Salah satu kompetensi yang harus dimiliki mahasiswa perguruan tinggi, khususnya mahasiswa Desain Komunikasi Visual di era modern ini adalah literasi visual. Namun, hingga saat ini kemampuan literasi visual mahasiswa masih sering dikesampingkan dalam dunia pendidikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui representasi karya dari mahasiswa Desain Komunikasi Visual yang dihasilkan dalam perkuliahan praktik, ditinjau dari keterampilan atau kemampuan literasi visual serta kreativitas dalam produksi ide. Sampel yang digunakan adalah mahasiswa Desain Komunikasi Visual dari empat universitas, yaitu Universitas Negeri Semarang, Institut Seni Indonesia, Universitas Dian Nuswantoro, dan Universitas Sebelas Maret. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan teknik interpretivisme untuk menganalisis semua data tersebut. Dengan mengacu pada standar literasi visual di perguruan tinggi, hasil penelitian menunjukkan dari tiga gambar poster yang dibuat oleh mahasiswa Desain Komunikasi Visual, seluruhnya menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan literasi visual dan kreativitias produksi ide mahasiswa Desain Komunikasi Visual sudah baik dalam merepresentasikan isu – isu sosial dan budaya ke dalam hasil karyanya selama perkuliahan praktik, sehingga terdapat kebermaknaan pesan dalam karya tersebut. Abstract. Art education in the modern era today has many contradictory challenges between concepts and implementation in the field in the curriculum. One of the competencies that college students must possess, especially visual literacy students in this modern era, is visual literacy. However, until now, students’ visual literacy skills are still often neglected in the world of education. This study aims to determine the representation of the work of Visual Communication Design students produced in practical lectures regarding visual literacy skills or abilities and creativity in creating ideas. The samples used were Visual Communication Design students from four universities: Semarang State University, Indonesian Art Institute of Surakarta, Dian Nuswantoro University, and Sebelas Maret University. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The data obtained were analyzed using interpretivism techniques to explore all of the data. By referring to the visual literacy standards in universities, the results of the study show that from the three poster images made by Visual Communication Design students, all their work show that visual literacy skills and creativity in producing ideas for Visual Communication Design students are good at representing social and cultural issues into their work in lecture practice activities so that there is a meaningful message in their posters.

Abstract

Abstrak. Konstelasi posisi kesenian begitu juga kebudayaan, tampaknya tidak akan pernah berhenti melainkan terus berkembang. Ideologi para seniman sebagai sebuah reaksi atas fenomena kebudayaan dalam arti luas pada akhirnya akan memberikan implikasi kepada kesadaran ekspresi berkeseniannya. Karakteristik ketradisian sebagai sebuah ekspresi kolektif suatu masyarakat kemudian terus diuji. Fenomena ini tampak jelas pada kesenian tari Baris di Desa Adat Batur, dengan sistem patriarki yang dianut oleh masyarakatnya menjadikan laki-laki sebagai unjung tombak untuk menjawab tantangan atas wacana pewarisan nilai tradisi kepada generasi penerusnya. Tulisan ini berisi pembahasan secara menyeluruh terkait, (1) bentuk dan struktur pertunjukan tari Baris; dan (2) hegemoni maskulinitas sebagai keyakinan ideologis dalam pewarisan tari Baris. Data yang tersaji dalam tulisan ini bersumber pada data primer yang diperoleh dari hasil pengamatan kemudian memperdalamnya dengan wawancara kepada narasumber, serta data sekunder diperoleh dari kumpulan buku, jurnal, maupun artikel terkait tari Baris dari penelitian terdahulu. Data yang telah terkumpul kemudian di analisis melalui tahapan reduksi data, display data, dan verifikasi data sebelum disimpulkan. Guna teoritis pada perspektif akademis, maka diharapkan tulisan ini dapat mereposisi, merekonstruksi, menginterpretasi, pewarisan tari baris yang terjadi pada masyarakat Desa Adat Batur melalui hegemoni maskulinitas sebagai keyakinan ideologis masyarakat. Abstract. The constellation of the position of art and culture will never stop developing but will continue to grow. The ideology of the artists as a reaction to cultural phenomena in a broad sense will ultimately respond to their expressions. The characteristics of tradition as a collective expression of society continue to be tested. This phenomenon is evident in the art of Baris dance in the Batur Traditional Village, where the patriarchal system adopted by the community makes men the spearhead to answer the challenges of the discourse of inheriting values to future generations. This paper contains a thorough discussion regarding (1) the form and structure of the Baris dance performance; and (2) hegemonic masculinity as an ideological belief in the inheritance of Baris dance. The data presented in this paper is sourced from primary data obtained from observations and then deepened by interviewing sources, as well as secondary data obtained from a collection of books, journals, and articles related to Baris from previous research. The data that has been collected is then tested for validity through data reduction, data display, and data leveraging before keywords. For theoretical purposes from an academic perspective, it is hoped that this paper can reposition, reconstruct, interpret, and inherit the line dance that occurs in the Batur Traditional Village community through the hegemony of masculinity as an ideological belief of the community.

Abstract

Abstrak. Capacity building berupaya untuk memperkuat kapasitas lokal yang ada dimana peningkatan kapasitas dan penyelarasan minat memiliki pengaruh yang patut diperhatikan pada kinerja. Salah satu bentuk kegiatan yang mengikutsertakan kepercayaan diri dan kosep diri adalah teater. Penelitian ini berfokus terhadap masalah kepercayaan diri pada pemeran teater. Beragam hal terdapat dalam menumbuhkan rasa percaya diri tersebut, kemudian ditentukan oleh konsep diri. Dengan demikian penelitian ini menjurus pada keterhubungan antara percaya diri dengan konsep diri terhadap pemeran teater sebagai bentuk capacity building. Metode penelitian yang digunakan menggunakan kuantitafif dengan jenis penelitian yaitu deskriptif korelasi untuk mengetahui tentang keterkaitan antara percaya diri dengan konsep diri terhadap anggota Teater Kampus FSD UNM dalam proses pemeranan sebagai bentuk capacity building. Berdasarkan penelitian dan hasil analisis yang telah dilaksanakan terhadap keterhubungan antara kepercayaan diri dengan kosep diri yang dilakukan terhadap anggota Teater Kampus FSD UNM dalam pemeranan sebagai bentuk capacity building ditunjukkan korelasi, yakni 0,639 dengan level signifikasi (p) senilai 0,000. Hal ini menggambarkan terbentuknya korelasi yang positif atau signifikan pada dua variabel. Adapun 41% adalah nilai koefisien deteminasi yang positif terhadap hubungan antara kepercayaan diri dan konsep diri kemudian sisanya dipengaruhi oleh faktor-faktor lainnya. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa proses pemeranan teater yang dilakukan oleh anggota Teater Kampus FSD UNM bentuk capacity building yang memiliki hubungan positif antara kepercayaan diri dengan konsep diri sebagai bentuk capacity building. Abstract. Capacity building seeks to strengthen existing local capacities where capacity building and interest alignment have a noteworthy influence on performance. One form of activity that includes self-confidence and self-concept is theater. This study focuses on the problem of self-confidence in theater actors. The various things that are involved in fostering this self-confidence are then determined by the self-concept. Thus, this research leads to the connection between self-confidence and self-concept of the actor as a form of capacity building. The research method used is quantitative with the type of research that is descriptive correlation to find out about the relationship between self-confidence and self-concept of members of the UNM FSD Campus Theater in the process of acting as a form of capacity building. Based on research and analysis results that have been carried out on the relationship between self-confidence and self-concept conducted on members of the FSD UNM Campus Theater in the role as a form of capacity building, the correlation is shown, namely 0.639 with a significance level (p) of 0.000. This illustrates the formation of a positive or significant correlation on the two variables. The 41% is a positive coefficient of determination on the relationship between self-confidence and self-concept then influenced by other factors. It can be said that the theater trust process carried out by members of the FSD UNM Campus Theater is a form of capacity building which has a positive relationship with self-concept as a form of capacity building.

Abstract

Abstrak. Kurangnya literasi visual dan adaptasi teknologi dalam rangka memunculkan ide dan gagasan siswa, merupakan masalah yang dihadapi oleh beberapa siswa di kelas VIII di beberapa SMP di Kabupaten Semarang dalam pembelajaran ilustrasi di masa pandemi. Berdasarkan observasi ditemukan bahwa, masih banyak siswa yang mengalami kendala dalam hal eksplorasi ide dan gagasan pada saat membuat karya ilustrasi. Hal ini disebabkan karena kondisi pembelajaran yang berubah serta lemahnya kemampuan literasi visual siswa di masa pandemi. Bertolak dari masalah tersebut, maka diperlukan suatu media untuk mengoptimalkan kemampuan literasi visual yang dimiliki oleh siswa, salah satunya adalah dengan menggunakan media Pinterest. Pinterest dirasa cocok untuk diterapkan sebagai solusi dalam pembelajaran ilustrasi, karena didalamnya memuat hasil karya visual dengan berbagai bentuk yang berasal dari para seniman/ilustrator dari seluruh dunia yang bisa diakses oleh siswa kapan saja dan dimana saja dengan menggunakan gawai. Tujuan penelitian adalah; (1) mengidentifikasi kesadaran penggunaan kemampuan literasi visual dalam pembelajaran ilustrasi, (2) menjelaskan penerapan Pinterest sebagai media untuk megoptimalkan literasi visual dalam pembelajaran ilustrasi, (3) menemukan faktor pendukung dan penghambat penerapan Pinterest sebagai media untuk mengoptimalkan literasi visual dalam pembelajaran ilustrasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumen. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan alur reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan simpulan. Hasil penelitian; (1) kesadaran literasi visual siswa kelas VIII di beberapa SMP di Kabupaten Semarang masih rendah, (2) penerapan Pinterest dapat mengoptimalkan kemampuan literasi visual siswa dalam pembelajaran ilustrasi, (3) terdapat tiga faktor pendukung dan dua faktor penghambat penerapan Pinterest sebagai media literasi visual dalam pembelajaran ilustrasi. Dengan adanya penelitian ini, harapannya dapat memberikan pengetahuan empiris mengenai penerapan Pinterest sebagai media literasi visual pada pembelajaran ilustrasi. Abstract. The lack of visual literacy and technological adaptation in order to generate students' ideas is a problem faced by the majority of students in class VIII in several middle schools in Semarang. It happened especially in the implementation of illustration learning. Based on observations, it was found that students were very lacking in exploring ideas and ideas in making illustration works due to weak visual literacy skills and abilities. Starting from this problem, we need a media to optimize the visual literacy skills possessed by students, one of which is by using Pinterest media. Pinterest is considered suitable to be applied as a solution in illustration learning, because it contains visual works in various forms from artists from all over the world that can be accessed by students anytime and anywhere using their devices. The research objectives are: (1) identify the awareness of the use of visual literacy in illustration learning, (2) explain the application of Pinterest as a visual literacy medium to optimalize illustration learning, (3) find the supporting and inhibiting factors for the application of Pinterest as a visual literacy medium to optimalize illustration learning. This study uses a qualitative approach, data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and document studies. The data were analyzed using data reduction flow, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Research result: (1) the visual literacy awareness of grade VIII students in several middle schools in Semarang is still low, (2) the application of Pinterest can optimize students' visual literacy skills in illustration learning, (3) there are three supporting factors and two inhibiting factors for the application of Pinterest as a visual literacy medium in illustration learning. With this research, it is hoped that it can provide empirical knowledge about the application of Pinterest as a visual literacy medium in illustration learning.

Abstract

Traditional theater is part of a culture that is deeply rooted and needs to be preserved. As a manifestation of culture, traditional theatrical arts certainly have characteristics that reflect the traditions, customs, and norms of the local community. Theater is an effective medium for providing information, teaching, educational facilities, and an understanding of the values that are believed by the community. The Amaq Abir Theater, which is a traditional theater for the Sasak tribe, certainly has cultural values that contain the life norms of the supporting community. Therefore, exploring the cultural values contained in the Amaq Abir traditional theater needs to be investigated. The benefits obtained will be in the form of community understanding of the personal value of the Sasak tribe in living their social life, which is built from several Amaq Abir theatrical sign systems, as well as efforts to preserve this traditional theater. This study uses a qualitative-descriptive approach using the semiotic analysis method of Tedeusz Kowzan theater. Data analysis in this study includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The result of this study is the discovery of cultural values related to the personality of the Sasak people, including Tindih, Maliq, and Merang values, from the results of semiotic analysis based on the Tedeuz Kowzan sign system.

Abstract

Quality education plays a very important central role in shaping a superior and competitive generation. A quality education provides individuals with the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes to face the challenges of a complex and globally connected modern world. In addition, quality education also shapes character, understanding of global issues, encourages innovation and improves quality of life. Therefore, serious investment in quality education is essential to create an excellent and competitive generation for the future. Abstract

This research was motivated by the dul muluk theater performance with the play Abdulmuluk Jauhari in Palembang City. This type of research is qualitative research using descriptive analysis methods with dramaturgical theory approaches, dramatic tension, and the function of dul grandiose theater performances. Data collection techniques are carried out by: observation, literature study, interviews, and documentation. The focus of the problem in this study is two formulations, namely: One: Teater dul muluk in the play Abdulmuluk Jauhari in Palembang viewed from the perspective of dramaturgy tension dramatic, Two: How is the function in the performance of theater dul muluk play Abdulmuluk Jauhari in Palembang. The results of this study seek to explore and analyze dramaturgical studies in terms of dramatic tension contained in Abdulmuluk Jauhari's play, and the function of dul muluk theater performances for the lives of Palembang people.

Abstract

Jathilan dance is one of the traditional dances that are part of the Reog Obyog art from East Java, Indonesia. This dance is characterized by the use of horses' masks and the movements that imitate the movement of horses. The purpose of this study is to identify and explain the philosophical meaning of the Jathilan dance in the Reog Obyog art. The research method used is a qualitative approach with observation, interviews, and document analysis as data collection techniques. Data analysis is carried out using content analysis. The results show that the Jathilan dance has philosophical meanings that are closely related to the Javanese culture. The dance movements depict the values of bravery, power, and wisdom, which are important values in the Javanese culture. The Jathilan dance in the Reog Obyog art is a representation of the cultural identity of the Javanese people. The dance movements symbolize the connection between the human and the natural world, where the human being is seen as an integral part of nature. The horse mask represents the spirit of the horse, which is an important animal in the Javanese culture. The sound of the gamelan, which accompanies the dance, represents the harmony between human beings and nature. In conclusion, the Jathilan dance in the Reog Obyog art has significant philosophical meanings that reflect the Javanese culture. This dance is a form of cultural expression that portrays the values and beliefs of the Javanese people. This study contributes to the understanding of the Javanese culture and the significance of traditional art forms in preserving cultural heritage.
