Abstract

Various discourses about locality and indigenous peoples emerged as an effort to overcome the climate crisis. This term is also a part of seeing the sustainability of nature. This paper departs from arguments such as queer ecological studies and the indigenous paradigm. Furthermore, some of these academic studies are used to foster focus through indigenous knowledge in recalibrating the God-Human-Nature relationship through Bugis cosmology and the role of the Bissu. The main argument in this paper is to present Bugis knowledge and understand the embodied resistance in the existence of Bissu in South Sulawesi. This study used a qualitative method with participant observation and in-depth interviews. Data collection was carried out in two steps, namely, literature study, which was followed by participant observation and in-depth interviews. Data is then collected, classified, and interpreted through the indigenous paradigm as an effort to decolonize knowledge. The results of this study show some holistic, cyclic knowledge, and based on experience in the Bugis community, namely: (1) Environmental conservation can be guided by Sulapa Eppa as an environmental ethic based on Bugis cosmology; (2) Sangiang Serri as an eco-prophetic ritual that denounced heteropatriarchy; (3) Embodied resistance of Bissu’s gender identity ambivalence as a political representation of queer ecology.

Abstract

Solid waste management is aimed at overcoming and preventing environmental pollution caused by both domestic and non-domestic waste. This study used a purely qualitative approach with a cross-section research time dimension. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The data collection techniques used were in-depth interviews and documentation techniques. The data analysis used was data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the people who care about waste management are carried out by a small proportion of residents. A small portion of the community wants to process their household waste by making compost and various handicrafts. Meanwhile, the transportation of waste to the TPA is also not optimal, because the amount of waste generated every day cannot be transported all. Also, the readiness of the transport fleets is not sufficient when compared to the amount of waste produced each day

Abstract

Consequences in implementing Law no. 32 of 2004 of course also has an impact on implementation at the village government level, which in article 206 is regarding government affairs which are the authority of the village. This research is about village funds sourced from the district/city APBN budget which are channeled to support village improvement which includes governance, development implementation, guidance and empowerment. Along with this, community concerns also arise regarding the accountability, quality and effectiveness of Village Fund management which is often considered less effective. Law Number 6 of 2014 concerning Villages provides a strong basic foundation regarding the implementation of village government. Meanwhile, the research approach is qualitative - descriptive, emphasizing the results of interview data analysis, observation and also literature reviews. Since 2015, villages in Indonesia have received funding from the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget. Thus, each village is required to be accountable for managing village funds to the community. This research aims to evaluate the availability of adequate information regarding the use of Village Funds including the determination of the APBD and the extent of community knowledge regarding village government administration. This research uses qualitative data analysis by connecting one source with other sources, then drawing conclusions at various stages. This research found that the increasing public trust in village government and increasing community participation in village development means that village funds have become a means of providing trust for village administrators and the apparatus within them.
