Abstract

ood security is a national issue including the production of quality ruminants. The main problem in this case is the low quality of animal feed and climate change factors that feed availability is inadequate. Feed additive technology is one of solution to produce feed with high nutritional. The aim of this activity is to empower the community to downstream technology through the introduce of gamal leaf feed additive technology. The location is located in Klungkung Village, Sukorambi District, Jember Regency. The first step carried out was socialization and training on making feed additives on gamal leaves to ensure the quality and availability of additive feed. The implementation used in this acitivy is community participation and training. To find out the achievements of this socialization activity, a pre-test and post-test were made regarding farmers' understanding of the gamal leaf feed additive. The results of this community service activity show an increase in knowledge regarding gamal leaf feed additive technology from 20% to 100%. The implementation of socialization and training on making feed additives from gamal leaves went well, community participation was very good as reflected in the presence of breeders until the end of the activity in a condition of constant numbers and active discussions.

Abstract

Nematoda entomopatogen merupakan salah satu jenis agens pengendali hayati yang bisa digunakan untuk S. frugiperda. Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui potensi dari nematoda entomopatogen dalam mengendalikan hama S. frugiperda.  Tahapan penelitian ini yaitu eksplorasi nematoda entomopatogen di beberapa wilayah di Jawa Timur, identifikasi nematoda entomopatogen secara morfologi, perhitungan populasi, dan perbanyakan secara in vivo. Penelitian dirancang dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri atas 6 perlakuan yaitu 1000 JI mL-1, 800 JI mL-1, 600 JI mL-1, 400 JI mL-1, 200 JI mL-1, dan kontrol. Setiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak 4 kali dan setiap ulangan terdiri 10 ekor larva instar 3. Hasil pengamatan setelah 120 jam, untuk inokulasi 600 JI mL-1 Steinernema sp. isolat (StJm) Kediri dapat menyebabkan mortalitas 97,5%. Mortalitas larva S. frugiperda akibat perlakuan Steinernema sp. isolat (StJm) Kediri tertinggi sebesar 100% pada perlakuan P5 1000 JI mL-1 pada pengamatan 120 jam dibandingkan perlakuan lain. Nilai LC50 dari Steinernema sp. isolat (StJm) Kediri sebesar 434,63 JI mL-1. Nilai LT50 dari Steinernema sp. isolat (StJm) Kediri paling rendah pada perlakuan P5 sebesar 1000 JI mL-1 yaitu 36,35 jam. Laju infeksi tertinggi bernilai 1,6% dari P5 sebesar 1000 JI mL-1 yaitu 16 ekor pada waktu pengamatan 12 Jam pasca inokulasi.

Abstract

Kutu kebul (Bemisia tabaci Genn.) merupakan salah satu hama yang menyebabkan kerusakan dan kehilangan hasil pada tanaman cabai. Pengendalian yang sering dilakukan oleh petani adalah dengan penyemprotan pestisida sintetik yang berdampak pada timbulnya resistensi hama serta dampak buruk lainnya pada lingkungan. Oleh karena itu perlu adanya alternatif pengendalian lainnya seperti pengembangan agens hayati (Beauveria bassiana), pestisida nabati, serta pestisida sintetik dengan bahan aktif yang berbeda. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas konsentrasi dan jenis dari pengendalian dalam mengendalikan kutu kebul. Metode penelitian terdiri dari beberapa tahapan dimulai dari persiapan jenis pengendalian seperti pestisida berbahan aktif spinosad, minyak parafin, ekstrak daun mimba, dan jamur entomopatogen B. Bassiana. Penelitian dirancang dengan menggunakan RALF (Rancangan Acak Lengkap Faktorial). Variabel pengamatan yang diamati adalah intensitas kerusakan tanaman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa minyak parafin dan ekstrak daun mimba merupakan perlakuan terbaik dalam menekan intensitas kerusakan kutu kebul. sedangkan konsentrasi 1% merupakan rekomendasi terbaik yang dapat digunakan dalam mengendalikan hama kutu kebul.

Abstract

Breadfruit chips are an example of post-harvest processing of breadfruit yields. Generally, breadfruit is only sold in the market in its raw form which has many drawbacks such as low selling price, and short shelf life, the fruit is easily damaged during the transportation process until rot occurs in the fruit. Processing breadfruit into breadfruit chips can help increase the profit margins you get. Breadfruit also has a certain harvest period or what is known as a seasonal plant can quickly experience decay so that post-harvest processing is deemed necessary to keep the product able to have a long shelf life. Tenggir Village, Panji District, Situbondo Regency is one of the villages with a relatively large number of breadfruit trees. Villagers already have the desire and enthusiasm to use the breadfruit by processing it into breadfruit chips. There is a need for community service to empower village potential and design solutions that will be offered to the community. The purpose of this program is to provide alternative solutions for simple postharvest processing of agricultural products and increase the production capacity of the breadfruit chips home industry. The result of implementing this program is an increase in one of the breadfruit chip processing home industries with indicators of increasing production capacity and business turnover. Greater support in science and finance could be scaled up to support more targeted and significant business development.
