Abstract

With cheaper consideration, product subcontracting often becomes an option. So far the selection of subcontractors is based solely on the price of the cheapest contract offered. Apparently not enough, there are still some input and output variables that must be considered. So far, the existing methods still have some weaknesses. The classic DEA model often fails to work effectively because it is very sensitive to statistical changes. Meanwhile the AHP and DEMATEL methods are not appropriate when the unequal monthly risk frequency is encountered. So we need to develop new method, that is integration 2 Stage Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) -Monte Carlo. Using VBA-excel based simulation assistance, it can be concluded that the most appropriate subcontract partner for UV process is DMU 1A (Central Coating) while subcontract partner for embossed process is DMU 1B (Super Indah Langgeng) and the most appropriate subcontracted laminating process partner is DMU 1C is (Central Coating), each having the best productivity with low risk level. Key Word: Subcontract Selection, Eficiency, Productivity, 2 Stage DEA-Monte Carlo

Abstract

This research introduces the development of Hybrid Scatter Search Heuristic for solving cockpit crew (pilot and co-pilot) rostering problem. This research aims to minimize the deviation of flight hours among the cockpit crew of an airline, Garuda Indonesia Airline, during the one-month planning horizon. The weakness of the existing algorithm used in the airline, which is a trial-and-error algorithm, is that the variation among crew flight times for one month is too significant and the scheduling process takes a quite long time. We tested the performance of our proposed algorithm to that of the existing algorithm. The numerical experiments showed that the proposed algorithm had outperformed the existing algorithm. More specifically, we found some in sensitivity analysis experiments. Our experiment results showed that that the higher the flight time target, the higher the total deviation of flight time. We also conducted several experiments to show the robustness of our proposed algorithm. First, we tested the relationship between the number of pilots who can use their preferences and the total deviation of flight time. We conducted experiments by giving the cockpit crew the opportunity to choose a day off. Finally, we analyzed the results by changing the number of cockpit crew.

Abstract

The implementation of AEC (Asian Economic Community) leads to demand increase at ports in Indonesia. This increasing demand is followed by operational efficiency at the port as well. In fact, ports in Indonesia have an average dwell time for 5 days. One of the causes of this long dwell time is container transfer inefficiencies during loading process. In this research, we will focus in yard management and increasing land utilization. To increase the land utilization, we develop the space-sharing concept to reduce the initial space needed for a given workload. Since the ships arrivals are also varying, this concept will be possible. We develop the concept by adding uncertainty on number of incoming containers at operational level as the determining factor in planning a shared yard area. We propose a simulation approach to evaluate strategies in making yard template.

Abstract

In practice, the policy of delaying payment periods is prevalent between players in a supply chain system. Generally, payments made at the end of the permitted period. Supply chain management is one of the keys to corporate sustainability that the activities have an impact on the environment.  This paper aims to develop an integrated green supply chain model with a permissible delay in payment consideration. In this research, the author develops a mathematical model to find the effect of delay in payment on emissions costs without ignoring the economic performance of a supply chain. The author develops four different scenarios model. Furthermore, numerical experiments and sensitivity analysis tests were conducted. Result of the study shows that delay in payment is integrated players into the supply chain system.  It has a positive impact on reducing supply chain emissions costs.

Abstract

Loading containers into a vessel can be delayed because of inefficient processes in the container yard. These container yard inefficient processes can be caused by inappropriate stacking position and inefficient crane operation. Inappropriate containers stacking positions may need some preparatory jobs of rearranging containers ahead of loading time to reduce delays in the process. The method will allow preparatory jobs to be scheduled together with main jobs to optimize use of the idle time of ASCs. This research aims to find a better scheduling strategy of twin ASCs as well as improving land utilization in a vertical-layout container yard to minimize delays in containers loading process. The uncertainty of truck arrival is accomodated by implementing iterative rescheduling in look-ahead planning horizon. The algorithm finds the optimal position of the container in the yard by implementing scoring function for each available slot. Finally, some numerical experiments are conducted to prove the performance of the algorithm.

Abstract

Manukan is a village in Bojonegoro Regency which is located in Gayam, Bojonegoro, East Java. The lack of family income from farmer profession requires the community to be more creative in increasing family income. Though Bojonegoro has the potential of Jonegoroan batik, which is attractive and much in demand, not many Bojonegoro people have batik knowledge and skills. Therefore, it is necessary to empower women in developing the Jonegoroan Batik creative industry. It’s carried out through four stages: socialization of Batik Jonegoroan, training on how to make batik, training on developing the creative industries of batik and batik marketing. In this training, participants are trained to understand and practice the process of making batik with four technical coloring and differences between printed batik and written batik. The coloring techniques studied included colekan, semok, kelengan and laseman. Jonegoroan batik products are exhibited and sold online in marketplaces and social media, while offline in batik bazaars and exhibitions. This knowledge and skills can be used as provisions to open up business opportunities for batik craftsmen to increase family income.

Abstract

This paper proposes a new idea for allocating a handshake area of an automated container yard. A block of automated container yards (CY) consists of two areas, which are the import (waterside) and export (landside) areas. The CY has two major activities (loading and unloading), where both are served by Twin Automatic Stacking Cranes (Twin-ASCs). A handshake area in the middle of the CY serves as a temporary slot for both ASCs. This situation causes an imbalance between the ASCs when the demands of each side differ significantly. Thus, we proposed using a dynamic location of the handshake area corresponding to the proportion demand of export and import containers. We developed a heuristics model and algorithms of ASC’s operations to compare the efficiency of the ASC operations between the fixed and the dynamic location. Based on our model and algorithm, we developed simulation software. Finally, we explored some numerical experiments to compare the performance of both policies in dealing with different export and import demand scenarios. Our result showed that the proposed approach outperformed the existing one in reducing unnecessary ASC movements.
