Abstract

Self-efficacy in nursing students can affect the clinical and academic learning process. Self-efficacy is an assessment or belief that a person has about their ability to organize and carry out an action. This study aims to describe the self-efficacy of nursing students. The research design used was non-experimental with a descriptive approach. The population in this study were professional students of the Faculty of Nursing, the University of Jember, with a total sampling technique of 236 respondents. The results showed that the respondents' self-efficacy obtained the mean and standard deviation (60.75 ± 8.296). In the results of the self-efficacy indicator, the mean and min-max results for levels 23.96 and 9-32. The mean (18.79) and min-max (7-24) results are obtained on the strength indicator. The generalization indicator's mean (18.02) and min-max (10-24) results are obtained. The conclusion of this study shows that the value of student self-efficacy is still not optimal because students do not fully state that they often and very often have confidence in carrying out and completing the nursing professional education process. Students' self-efficacy needs to be improved by having good relationships with clinical and academic supervisors as role models, asking for verbal persuasion from those closest to them, and practicing activities independently to achieve a certain level of competence.

Abstract

Learning process in university must be conducted with the principle of Student Centered Learning (SCL). SCLhas several components that could influence the implementation of SCL. The purpose of this study was toidentify the implementation of SCL in Nursing Faculty of Jember University. This study used a descriptiveexploratory design with purposive sampling technique on 26 lecturers and stratified sampling techniques for 260students. The results showed that the implementation of SCL to lecturers reached 81.7% (from a maximum valueof 33) and the implementation of SCL to students reached 80.19% (from a maximum of 36). This shows theimplementation of SCL in terms of students and lecturers having a good score. The lowest score for lecturerswas the class condition (68.4%) and the lowest value for students was the teaching material (71%). Lack offacilities could have an impact on the disruption of the learning process using SCL so that students and lecturersdid not get maximum results. Institutions are expected to be able to renew their collection of books and classconditions can be further optimized by reducing the number of students to 25 students in each class.

Abstract

Introduction: Patient safety has become a global issue that is currently being discussed in all countries. Concerns about patient safety have increased significantly over the last decade. The implementation of supervision is very important in order to improve the implementation of patient safety goals. The purpose of this research is to analyze the implementation of supervision regarding patient safety in patients with a diagnosis of Inguinal Hernia in the Inpatient Room. Method: Used a survey method with a supervision questionnaire for patient safety and a supervision effectiveness questionnaire for patient safety. Results: The results showed that supervision of patient safety in patients with a diagnosis of Inguinal Hernia has been carried out in the Hospital Inpatient Room. Implementation of this supervision is effective to do in order to increase the motivation of nurses in implementing patient safety goals. But the implementation of supervision about patient safety is still not optimally implemented because there are several obstacles such as the patient safety program has not become a priority agenda, there is no driving force, it is carried out under forced conditions such as only because of demands from superiors, there are obstacles due to a lack of understanding of the implementation of patient safety programs, there is no sense of awareness in towards patient safety culture, and non-optimal incident reporting. Conclusion: These results can be a reference for hospitals about the attitude of nurses in monitoring patient safety and should improve existing nursing training by allowing nurses to continue their education to a higher level, by holding regular training on patient safety practices.

Abstract

Interprofessional collaboration (IPC) is cooperation between health professionals who work together to solve health problems, provide medical services, and achieve common goals. In the health sector, 70-80% of errors are due to poor communication and understanding within the team. In Indonesia, one result of the lack of coordination between medical personnel is the high error rate in prescribing drugs, which is up to 98.69%. Communication in the application of IPC is a very important factor that contributes to patient safety and the quality of health services so that it will form a good hospital image. Barriers to professional cooperation can be a major cause of medical errors, treatment errors, or other unforeseen events. The purpose of this study was to analyze interprofessional collaboration in the care of patients with Diabetes Mellitus. The results of the case study show that the role of the health team in collaboration in nursing care has been implemented but has not been optimal. The implementation of IPC has not been optimally implemented because there are several obstacles such as the lack of communication between professions, none of the team members have participated in the application of IPC in health services, and stereotypes from one profession to another. So it is necessary to increase teamwork between health professionals, so that collaboration can be established optimally

Abstract

One indicator of the effectiveness of HIV/AIDS prevention can be measured by the role of stakeholders involved in the HIV/AIDS prevention program. The obstacles are that there are still unequal perceptions of interest regarding the target group from each stakeholder in developing HIV/AIDS prevention programs and a lack of coordination between internal and external agencies, so there has been no effort to integrate programs between agencies. The purpose of this activity is to optimize the role of stakeholders in HIV AIDS prevention in Jember. This activity was carried out in stages (1) presenting material on "The Role of Stakeholders in HIV AIDS Response" and questions and answers related to the material presented, as well as (2) Focus Group Discussion (FGD) to discuss the implementation of the role of stakeholders in HIV AIDS response. The results of this activity show that stakeholders could understand the national strategy in dealing with HIV AIDS; stakeholders understood their role in HIV AIDS prevention, and stakeholder groups stated that they would help in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Definitive policy recommendations issued by local governments related to stakeholder involvement in HIV AIDS response.
