Effectiveness of Health Promotion to Community-Based Total Sanitation Outcomes in Nunsaen, Kupang, Indonesia Salesman, Frans

Abstract

The Community-Based Total Sanitation Program has reached 94.95% of villages in Indonesia. However, not all villages implement the four pillars of community-based total sanitation, including the village of Nunsaen. The low outcomes of community-based total sanitation in Nunsaen village in 2016 reached 76% of 542, impacting on average 63% of the population, who suffer from infectious diseases every year. The non-implementation of health promotion strategies through advocacy, and lack of empowerment of working groups to improve community-based total sanitation outcomes in Nunsaen village. A retrospective study with Case Control approach with triggers through advocacy and empowerment to a sample of 134 family heads. Health promotion strategies through effective advocacy affect community-based total sanitation outcomes (Pvalue = 0,0001; and OR = 8,444), meaning that the effectiveness of advocacy effects is more than three times as likely to improve community-based sanitation outcomes by 8.44 times than if advocacy conducted less than three times. If in terms of OR scale, the effectiveness of community empowerment has greater opportunity (OR = 46,943) than advocacy (OR = 8,444) towards the total community-based sanitation outcome in Nunsaen village. The conclusion are Improving the effectiveness of community-based sanitation implementation requires advocacy and community empowerment by types and techniques determined by the program to achieve healthy and hygienic behavioural changes as the goal of community-based sanitation programs.

Abstract

Background: Vaccine stimulates immune system form to the infants to prevent the disease and death. However, the coverage of complete basic vaccine (IDL) has not reached the target yet in Kupang regency, Nusa Tenggara Timur. The study aims to analyze the factors that effect a completeness status of the effect basic vaccine for infants aged 0-24 months at the Oemasi regency, Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara.Subject and Method: The study was observational study using cross-sectional approach. The study was conducted at Oemasi community health center, Kupang regency, Nusa Tenggara Timur. The total of the population were 527 infants aged between 0-24 months. The sample were 60 infants by using quota sampling technique. The independent variable were maternal age, education, and working time, family income, and number of family members. The dependent variable was complete basic vaccine status. The data were collected using questionnaire and analyzed by multiple logistic regression.Result: The maternal education level increased the infants’ possibility to get complete basic vaccine and stasticially significant (OR= 11.47; CI 95%= 1.28  up to 102.63; p= 0.029). Parents’ income increased infants’ possibility to get complete basic vaccine, however it was not statistically signicant. Family member ≥5 people and mother’s working time ≥7 hours/day decreased infants’ possibility to get complete basic vaccine, however it was not statistically significant. Mother’s age did not influence the infants getting complete basic vaccine. Conclusion: mother’s education is a factor which has the strongest effect to increase infants’ possibility to get complete basic vaccine. Keyword: complete basic vaccine, mothers’ education level, family income, family members                                                                                             Correspondence: Frans Salesman. Abstract

Abstrak Pembangunan kesehatan adalah upaya meningkatkan kesadaran, kemauan dan kemampuan hidup sehat setiap orang mewujudkan kesehatan masyarakat yang optimal. Dalam perencanaan dan penganggaran pembangunan kesehatan di Manggarai Barat, setiap unsur-unsur sumber daya kesehatan dan non kesehatan bekerja parsial sehingga  hasil pembangunannya belum mencapai target yang ditetapkan oleh Kementerian Kesehatan Republik Indonesia. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah merumuskan peta jalan sebagai rujukan perencanaan dan penganggaran pembangunan kesehatan di Kabupaten Manggarai Barat selama tahun 2016 sampai tahun 2021. Desain penelitian kualitatif dan kuantitatif melalui analisis data sekunder publikasi BPS provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur dan Profil Kesehatan Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur. Pelaksanan penelitian melalui lokakarya persepsi tentang isu kesehatan, FGD penyusunan agenda kebijakan dan rekomendasi pembangunan kesehatan. Peserta FGD sebanyak 35 orang. Lama penelitian dua bulan mulai Juni-Juli 2016. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah tersusunnya  dokumen perencanaan sebagai peta jalan pembangunan kesehatan Kabupaten Manggarai Barat 2016-2021 berbasis tujuh sub sistem kesehatan daerah sebagai penjabaran misi pembangunan kesehatan Kabupaten Manggarai Barat, yakni meningkatkan layanan kesehatan, pendidikan dan perlindungan sosial. Peta jalan berisi strategi dan kebijakan pembangunan kesehatan disertai target sebagai indikator capaian kinerja pembangunan kesehatan di kabupaten Manggarai Barat sampai tahun 2021. In health development planning and budgeting in West Manggarai, every element of health and non-health resources works partially so that the development results have not reached the target set by the Ministry of Health Republic of Indonesia. The purpose of this research was to formulate road map as reference for health development planning and budgeting in West Manggarai District during 2016 until 2021. Research design was combined from qualitative and quantitative research through secondary data analysis of BPS publication and health profile East Nusa Tenggara Province. Conducting research through perception workshops on health issues,  FGD on policy agendas and health development recommendations. FGD participants were 35 people. Duration of two months study from June to July 2016. The drafting of planning document as road map of health development of West Manggarai District 2016-2021 based on seven sub-system of regional health  the elaboration health development mission, improving health care, education and social protection. Abstract

Abstract The Human Development Index (HDI) is a composite index: health indicators through life expectancy, education indicators through mean expectations and school length, and per capita real purchasing power. The HDI level of NTT province in 2016 is 63.13 points, and Manggarai District in the same year amounted to 61.87 points. When compared with the national HDI, HDI Kabupaten Manggarai is still low. Therefore, it is necessary to develop Manggarai HDM strategy and policy during 2016-2021.Purpose. Develop strategies and policies to improve the Human Development Index in Manggarai 2016-2021. Methods. Analyzing Data publication BPS East Nusa Tenggara  and Manggarai District 2014-2016, health profile of Manggarai District. Qualitative data obtained from the FGD preparation of Medium Term Development Plan Manggarai District 2016-2021. 42 FGD participants 42 persons. Results. The development of economic, education and health development strategies and policies that can accelerate the growth of HDI in Manggarai district during 2016-2021. Conclusion.IPM in Manggarai district has been in the "moderate" group with 2014 figure of 60.08 points, 2015 by 60.87 points, and by 2016. The growth of HDI between 2015-2016 is 1.31% if using the reduction of shortfall, the growth of HDI in Manggarai is included in slow category because the acquisition rate is <1.70. Accelerating the growth of HDI is a hope for all parties. Therefore, effective strategies and policies are needed to boost the slow growth of HDI to accelerate by utilizing all available resources. Keywords: Human Development Index, Development Strategy

Abstract

Introduction. Intake of nutritional and nutritional foods is the key to growth of infants. But for mothers with low education do not understand the importance of providing nutritious food for their infants aged 0-23 months. Purpose. Analyze the effectiveness of health promotion through advocacy and training of mothers in Alak Community Health Center. Methods. The study used analytical survey with cross sectional approach. Mother Research Population with 0-23 month old baby counted 257 people. Sampling technique sampling purposed 132 respondents. Data analysis technique using Chi Square and Odd Ratio. Results. Advocacy mothers have  tendency to manage nutritious food 7.90 times compared  mothers who are not advocated with Relative Risk 2.14, meaning that advocates have 2.14 times more chance managing nutritious food than mothers who do not get advocacy. While the mothers who received training have  tendency 10 times greater applying nutritious food processing than mothers who are not trained, with Relative Risk 2.05. This means the opportunity to manage nutritious food 2.05 times greater than mothers who are not trained. Conclusion. Advocacy and empowerment in the form training is  health promotion strategy to increase knowledge and skills of mothers about the management of nutritious food to support the growth of infants aged 0-23 months.Keyword. Abstract

The consequence of activity in hospital is to produce toxic material waste (B3). So, description of B3 in the hospital was needed. The objective of this research was to identify the hazards in each stage in waste management of Liquid Hazardous and Toxic (B3) at Bangil Hospital, Pasuruan. Based on the place , this research was categorized as field research, because it used primary data by interviewing directly to the workforce and conducting risk assessment to the hazard source in the research location. This research was cross-sectional study. The results showed that there were 8 potential hazards, which consist of 3 hazards at the storage stage, 3 hazards at the collection stage, and each 1 hazard at the processing and disposal stage. The hazards proable experienced by laboratory personnel who also serve in the management of liquid waste and also those who operate the IPAL. While the management of B3 liquid waste radiology laboratory conducted by laboratory workers and IPS has 15 potential hazards, including 3 hazards at the storage stage, 6 hazards at the collection stage, 3 hazards at the transport stage and 3 hazards on the temporary storage. Based on the hazard identification at the stage of B3 waste management of Radiology Laboratory at Bangil General Hospital of Pasuruan, there were 15 potential hazards. While at the stage of waste management B3 Liquid Environmental Laboratory in RSUD Bangil Pasuruan, found 8 potential hazards.Keywords : hazardous materials, hospital, radiological laboratory

Abstract

Used Edward III's policy theory, this study aims to analyze Communication (X1), Resources (X2), Bureaucracy (X3), and Disposition (X4) affect the performance of public policy implementation in the placement and protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers from NTT impact on the transmission of sexually transmitted infections HIV AIDS in NTT (Y). Conducted in Kupang City by taking PPTKIS Citra Bina Tenaga Kerja (CBTM) as a recruiting, training and sending agent. Respondents were 93 people from 122 populations, who departed in 2016-2017 and returned in 2019-2020. Research sample is purposive and snowball sampling. The results show that implementation performance (Y) has not gone well. Statistical analysis used SPSS 26: 1) X1 has a parameter coefficient (original Sample 0.280) against (Y), where the effect was positive and significant (t = 2.946>t-table 1.662); 2) X2 has a parameter coefficient (original sample -0.153) against (Y), where the effect was positive and significant (t = -1.629<t-table 1.662 ); 3) X3 has a parameter coefficient (original sample 0.052) against (Y), where the effect was positive and significant (t = 1.001 <t-table 1.662); 4) X4 has the lowest parameter coefficient (original sample 0.116) (Y), where the effect was positive and significant (t = 2.267>t-table 1.662). The strongest variable influencing policy implementation is communication.

Abstract

Narkotika, Psikotropika dan Zat Adiktif lainnya merupakan singkatan dari NAPZA yaitu zat kimia yang apabila masuk kedalam tubuh manusia baik dengan berbagai cara, baik dihisap, dihirup, diminum atau disuntikkan dapat berpengaruh pada pikiran, emosi, dan Tindakan. Kalangan pelajar yang berada pada kelompok usia remaja memiliki emosi yang masih labil sehingga sangat rentan untuk menyalahgunakan NAPZA. Tujuan khusus dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah: Untuk meningkatan pengetahuan Santri Pondok Pesantren dan Panti Asuhan Putra Aisyiyah Kupang, tentang bahaya narkoba bagi remaja dan pelajar, dan Untuk mencegahan kebiasaan dan bahaya narkoba bagi remaja dan pelajar. Metode yang digunakan pada kegiatan ini adalah penyuluhan Kesehatan. tentang bahaya narkoba bagi remaja dan pelajar. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan pada Sabtu, 05 Oktober 2019. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh Kepala Pondok, dua orang ustadz dan santri Pesantren/Panti Asuhan Putra Aisyiyah Kupang sebanyak 36 orang. Kegiatan ini dapat berjalan dengan baik dan terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan peserta tentang bahaya NAPZA pada remaja dan pelajar. Perlu dilakukan kegiatan yang sama di lingkungan atau di tempat-tempat yang lain atau di sekola-sekolah lain untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan mencegah atau mengatasi agar terhindar dari bahaya narkoba bagi remaja dan pelajar lebih dini.
