Abstract

Dewasa ini, kemampuan berbahasa Inggris merupakan hal yang sangat dibutuhkan dalam berkomunikasi. Kemampuan bahasa Inggris merupakan hal penting yang harus dimiliki oleh siapa saja, tak terkecuali oleh mahasiswa. Ada banyak cara yang dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbahasa Inggris. Salah satunya ialah dengan menggunakan lagu. Tujuan penelitian artikel ini ialah guna mengetahui keefektifan penggunaan lagu untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbahasa Inggris mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi literatur. Penulis mendapatkan data-data mengenai penggunaan lagu untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbahasa Inggris mahasiswa dengan cara mengevaluasi penelitian-penelitian sebelumnya serta melakukan pencarian terhadap berbagai sumber tertulis seperti buku-buku, artikel, jurnal maupun dokumen-dokumen yang berkaitan dengan permasalahan yang dikaji. Dari hasil penelitian, ditarik kesimpulan bahwa penggunaan lagu untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbahasa Inggris merupakan cara yang efektif dikarenakan lagu mudah ditemukan dalam kehidupan mahasiswa. Penggunaan lagu dapat membantu mahasiswa untuk mengembangkan kemampuan listening dan juga pronunciation mereka yang mana hal tersebut juga dapat menambah vocabulary yang mereka miliki.

Abstract

Framing is the process of framing or ideas for a media in conveying news to the public with different characteristics from each mass media to attract particular interest to the public who will see or consume the news conveyed by the mass media. Mass media is a forum for the public to find out about developments in news information circulating. Mass media can be interpreted as a means of communication in the form of media to publish and convey news to the public in narrative form such as online or print media, in audio or sound form such as radio, or audio visual such as television. This research explains how tvOne and METROTV framed the news about the meeting of Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono and Puan Maharani which was published via the tvOne and METROTV YouTube channels. The aim of this research is to find out how tvOne and METROTV think in framing news. This research uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach using Robert Entmant's framing theory model. The results of the research refer to Robert Entmant's framing theory, where framing is divided into four elements, namely Define problem, Diagnose cause, Make moral judgment, Treatment recommendation. This research carried out a descriptive research method with a qualitative approach that describes framing analysis into four elements of theory Robert Entmant.

Abstract

The text-based approach has garnered significant attention for its potential to enhance literacy and critical thinking skills. This methodology emphasizes the use of texts as of education, innovative teaching methodologies are crucial for cultivating comprehensive learning central tools for learning across various subjects, aligning with pedagogical goals of fostering deeper comprehension, analytical abilities, and effective communication. Implementing a text-based approach within a junior high school curriculum presents a unique opportunity to engage students meaningfully, preparing them for the complex literacy demands of the modern world. This paper explores the rationale, implementation strategies, and potential outcomes of incorporating a text-based approach in junior high school education. Supported by expert opinions and research findings, the study highlights the efficacy of this approach in promoting higher-order thinking skills and academic success. By focusing on texts, students can develop a nuanced understanding of subjects, enhance their analytical skills, and improve their communication abilities, which are essential for their future academic and professional endeavors.

Abstract

Tobacco is a threat to the health of people in the world, around 8 million people die from tobacco. Every year, more than 7 million people die due to direct tobacco consumption and around 1.2 million people die due to passive smoking and exposure to tobacco smoke. The aim of this service is to increase the level of knowledge and attitudes of young men regarding smoking behavior in junior high schools. The method used was the lecture method and providing posters containing smoking behavior. The target of this activity is 30 young men from SMPN 3 Gowa Regency. The results of the service show that there has been an increase in the level of knowledge and attitudes of students regarding smoking behavior. It is hoped that the school will have educational programs such as seminars where students participate actively to exchange opinions or ask directly about smoking behavior. Apart from that, carry out an anti-smoking campaign in the school environment, put up posters about smoking behavior and involve the role of parents in supervising students.

Abstract

Every year, more than 7 million people die from direct tobacco consumption and about 1.2 million people die from second-hand smoke and exposure to tobacco smoke. The purpose of this service is to increase the level of knowledge and attitudes of young men about smoking behavior at SMPN 3 Gowa.
