Abstract

One indicator of success in maintaining stable blood sugar levels in diabetics is dietary adherence. Dietary adherence is essential to successfully control blood sugar levels. Patient non-compliance with diet can have a negative impact on the severity of diabetes experienced, thus requiring a longer treatment process. Based on an initial survey of around 210 patients recorded as participating in PROLANIS throughout 2022, only 30 people have routinely participated since the pandemic began in December 2021 at Puskesmas Simpang Tiga.  This study aims to determine the relationship between prolanis activities and dietary compliance of patients with diabetes mellitus. This type of research is quantitative with a cross sectional approach. The research was conducted in 2023 at the Simpang Tiga Health Center. The research sample amounted to 138 respondents. Data collection tools using a research questionnaire. Data analysis was carried out univariate and bivariate. The results showed that there was a relationship between medical consultation (p value 0.000) and group education (p value 0.000) with dietary compliance in the prolanis program. This study recommends that Puskesmas Simpang Tiga, especially Puskesmas officers, organize the PROLANIS program in improving health monitoring for diabetes mellitus respondents and encourage respondents to attend PROLANIS activities via SMS gateway or Whatsapp group in order to help improve compliance.Keywords: Education, Prolanis, Health Center.

Abstract

Inadequate knowledge of husbands about exclusive breastfeeding will lead to low husband support, thus reducing the success of the exclusive breastfeeding process. This study aims to determine the relationship between knowledge and husband support in exclusive breastfeeding at Eria Bunda Hospital. This study used a quantitative analytic research design with a cross sectional study design. The sampling technique in this study was purposive sampling, so that the sample in this study was 70 respondents. The measuring instrument used was a questionnaire and data analysis using the chi square test. The results of the analysis showed that there was a relationship between knowledge (p value, 0.048) and husband support (p value 0.000) in exclusive breastfeeding at Eria Bunda Hospital. This study provides advice that health workers make efforts to improve the health services of medical personnel and nurses in health education through socialization and counseling on the importance of the breastfeeding process in order to increase husband's knowledge as an effort to increase husband's support in the breastfeeding process.Keywords: Knowledge, Husband Support, Exclusive Breastfeeding

Abstract

Overnutrition is more common among adolescents. In Indonesia, lack of physical activity, poor quality of sleep due to daily schedules, and the consumption of sweet, fatty, and fast foods are the main contributing factors. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between the frequency of consumption of sweet caffeinated beverages and sleep quality with nutritional status in adolescents in high school 5 Tambun Selatan. This study used quantitative research with observational analysis using a cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 101 individuals randomly chosen by a simple random sampling method. Data were collected using the Food Frequency Questionnaire and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index with the determination of the nutritional status of adolescents obtained from Z-score BMI/U. The Chi-Square test results indicated significant correlations exist between the frequency of sweet caffeinated beverages consumption and nutritional status (p=0.045) but no significant correlations were found between sleep quality and nutritional status (p=0.797) in adolescents in high school 5 Tambun Selatan.

Abstract

Breakfast contributes energy by 25% of the level of total daily energy needs. One third of the students of SMP IT Nurul Fajar Cikarawang Village have poor breakfast habits and quality. Adolescence is the most important phase in the formation of an individual's eating habits. A teenager's eating habits consist of knowledge related to breakfast, one's attitudes and practices towards breakfast. Knowledge-based practices will last a long time, therefore it is important for adolescents to obtain nutrition education from various sources, one of which is school. The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of nutrition education interventions on the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of adolescents regarding breakfast. The design of this study was a quasi experimental and purposive sampling method with a sample size of 57 7th and 8th grade students aged 12-15 years at SMP IT Nurul Fajar, Cikarawang Village. The healthy breakfast nutrition education intervention was given in 2 sessions with a duration of 50 minutes for each session. The media used in this research include leaflets, posters, videos, and materials in the form of power points. The results showed that there was a significant increase in the knowledge and attitude scores of adolescents regarding healthy breakfast (p≤0.05), while the practice of breakfast in adolescents experienced an insignificant increase (p0.05). Nutrition education interventions have an impact on increasing adolescent knowledge and attitudes regarding healthy breakfast, but the impact is not seen on adolescent breakfast practices. This is because the duration and frequency of nutrition education are too short, so nutrition education interventions are needed with a longer frequency and duration.

Abstract

Promosi Kesehatan, termasuk promosi gizi di dalamnya, merupakan salah satu upaya untuk mengoptimalisasi kesehatan lanjut usia (lansia). Tim pengabdi STIKes Mitra Keluarga melakukan kegiatan promosi gizi dan kesehatan di Panti Sentra Terpadu Pangudi Luhur Bekasi. Sebanyak 6 orang pengurus mengikuti penyuluhan gizi, 8 orang pengurus mengikuti penyuluhan aktivitas fisik lansia, dan 7 orang lansia mengikuti sharing session dan penilaian status gizi. Terdapat peningkatan skor secara signifikan pada pengetahuan gizi (p= 0.0195, uji Wilcoxon Signed Rank) sehingga dapat dikatakan kegiatan pengetahuan berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan terkait gizi. Namun, tidak terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan aktivitas fisik secara signifikan (p= 0.3275, uji Wilcoxon Signed Rank). Status gizi lansia sebagai berikut: 72% normal, 14% berat badan kurang, dan 14% berat badan lebih.. Melalui kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat membantu upaya menjaga status gizi pada lansia. Namun, upaya tersebut akan terasa lebih maksimal jika kegiatan pendampingan serupa dapat dilakukan secara berkelanjutan.
