Abstract

This research is a tracer study that aims to determine the distribution of graduates of the D3 Automotive Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Padang State University who have worked and the fields of work undertaken by the graduates. This study uses a quantitative descriptive analysis approach. The tracking study is carried out by distributing questionnaires or questionnaires with the help of the Google form. The total number of respondents or alums was 89 of the Automotive Engineering Study Program in 2014, 2015, and 2016, with 64 alums. The research results show that 71.91% of graduates have found work, of which 46.1% have found work in their graduate field. 34.38% of alums get jobs after graduating within an average of 1-3 months. 39.06% of alums, on average, earn between IDR 2,000,000 and IDR 3,000,000 per month.

Abstract

Vocational secondary education institutions are able to anticipate and manage change by using various existing skills by utilising technology. Improving teaching media is one way to utilise technology. Learning media in the form of electronic modules must be developed in vocational high schools. The main problem that occurs, the demands of the K13 curriculum regulations require schools to use Project Based Learning with insufficient learning resources, insufficient learning resources and Students have difficulty in applying existing concepts to the tasks given, have poor problem solving skills, have stunted critical thinking skills of students. Overcoming these problems, the real task is to support people with skills to improve the existing learning process. The objectives obtained from this study based on the formulation of the problem: to produce a valid, practical and effective learning module. The 4D Research and Development model was chosen which consists of four phases, namely the defining, design, development and implementation phases. The results of the development research in the form of project-based learning e-modules on Maintenance of Chassis and Power Transfer of Light Vehicles are valid with the test results of each aspect of the first aspect of the material 0.81 second aspect of the grammar aspect 0.85 third aspect of the description of the fourth material self-instructional 1, practical with the test results of each aspect of the first aspect of the content 93% second aspect of use 94% third aspect 89% and effective with the results of the gain score test 0.7 used to improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Developments in the 4.0 era at this time require us to be able to use science and technology as much as possible to think creatively, be innovative and be able to solve existing problems. One way education can keep up with this era is by including technology in the learning process. Modules developed in electronic form can be a solution to answer this problem. In addition to teaching modules as learning media, learning models are no less important in supporting learning effectiveness. One learning model that facilitates students applying learning material through an experiment and project is the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model. Flipbook-based e-modules with the Project Based Learning learning model are conventional modules that are converted into electronic form using the Flip PDF Professional application so that they can be used anytime and anywhere. The type of research used is Research and development with a 4D model (define, design, develop, and disseminate). The research was conducted at the Department of Automotive Engineering, Padang State University in the subject of electricity and electronics. The results of this study found that the e-module was declared valid both in terms of media and material from each validator. Lecturers and students also provide an assessment of the practicality of the flipbook-based e-module with this project-based learning model with an average percentage of 88.9% in the very practical category. This flipbook-based e-module is declared effective to use. This was obtained from the results of the students' classical completeness after carrying out the posttest with a percentage of 87.5% and a gain score of 0.47 in the moderate category.
